Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: January 8, 2018 through January 14, 2018

“There is no measuring with time, no year matters, and 10 years are nothing. Being an artist means, not reckoning and counting, but ripening like the tree which does not force its sap and stands confident in the storms of Spring without the fear that after them may come no Summer. It does come. But it comes only to the patient, who are there as though eternity lay before them, so unconcernedly still and wide. I learn it daily, learn it with pain to which I am grateful: patience is everything!”

2018 is bringing great change, possible growth, and focus on some area of your life. Prepare to make the most of these powerful shifting winds with a consultation with Laurie at Astrolore!

Set up your appointment today.

The night sky is very quiet right now with Jupiter and Mars coming over the horizon in the early morning hours. Venus is currently situated directly on the other side of the Sun from Earth. She will slowly edge away from the Sun’s glare over the coming weeks. By late February, she will begin her brilliant evening display which will last through September of 2018.

INTEGRITY PAVES THE WAY

Monday, January 8, 2018:

Monday brings us into a powerhouse of a week as Venus, the planet of love and beauty, joins with the Sun in its Superior Conjunction, when it is on the other side of the Sun. This aspect becomes fully expressed early Tuesday.

The Sun and Venus join with Pluto early on Tuesday as well, impacting the early part of the week powerfully.

Along with the deep and empowered conversation, these three planets are having, the Sun and Venus each form a supportive sextile aspect to expansive Jupiter.

Venus and the Sun, later in the week, also sextile with assertive Mars as Mars and Jupiter travel together through the deep waters of Scorpio.

There is a powerful opportunity here for the serious empowerment of love and of the feminine to break down the overblown patriarchal connection to negative sexuality, violence, and unhealthy aggression.

While in Saturn, the Sun, Venus, and Pluto are all in Saturn’s domicile of Capricorn, prepare to watch how integrity is rewarded and lack of integrity receives its comeuppance.

This is the year that we each must tell the truth and receive the supportive gifts or wrath of the Universe.

You may experience a sense of great relief along with these three sextiles on Monday morning. Consider how the sextile of the Sun and Venus to Jupiter turns your attention toward what brings meaning to your life and asks you to seek out others who share your passions and your goals.

Another sextile is formed between Mars and Pluto offering assistance as you commit yourself to the direction of those passions and goals.

There will likely be some stress in the evening as the Libra Moon, wanting to make everyone happy, encounters others who may not want to support the agenda. Relax and allow the more powerful conversations of the day to hold the space for powerful movement.

LOVE PAVES THE WAY

Tuesday, January 9, 2018:

The significant conjunction between the Sun, Venus, and Pluto is exact in the early hours of Tuesday morning. This brings powerful development as love and the feminine break down elements of negative masculinity, the misuse of sexuality, and violence.

In the coming months with Saturn, the Sun, Venus, and Pluto all in Saturn’s domicile of Capricorn, integrity must overtake control and greed. We must each do our part to uphold our love for the Universe and each other.

The Moon lingers in diplomatic Libra until mid-afternoon, forming a gently agreeable sextile to Mercury at 11:13 AM EST. This allows for engagement in conversations that encourage understanding and connection.

At 3:06 PM EST, the Moon leaves agreeable Libra behind and enters passionate Scorpio, closely followed by Venus sextile Mars at 4:07 PM EST. The conversations suggested for Tuesday afternoon may lead to romance or at the very least a purposeful and passionate connection. A pleasantly assertive Sun sextile Mars shortly after midnight,t heightens the possibility of romance.

The Libra Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 11:13 AM EST until she enters Scorpio at 3:06 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

REST IN FLOW

Wednesday, January 10, 2018:

Following the intensity of Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday offers a day to rest and allow yourself to daydream and reflect.

Sunset at Christmas Eve, Honolulu, Hawaii woodblock print by Arman Manookian via Wiki Media

At 2:40 PM EST, the Scorpio Moon forms a flowing trine aspect to dreamy, sensitive Neptune.

Allow yourself to get lost in daydreaming, watch a film, engage in whatever activity brings you to a place of ‘flow’; spend time in meditation, listen to soothing music, or create something that comes from your deepest sense of mystical oneness.

Thursday will remove your access to easy mental flow as Mercury entering Capricorn, where it will remain until January 31st, brings your mind to the stern edge of reality. Integrity remains in the limelight for each of us and the culture at large.

THOUGHTS DEEPEN

Thursday, January 11, 2018:

I hope you were able to enjoy the sense of flow that was available on Wednesday as it may be the last opportunity for such bliss, at least until Mercury enters Aquarius at the end of January.

As you begin the day, Mercury has joined Saturn, the Sun, Venus, and Pluto in cautious, serious Capricorn. This is a large pile-up in a very restrictive sign. If you know what house Capricorn holds in your chart, you will understand where the focus of hard work and increasing responsibility lies. This is the area of your life that came into focus in late December and will require ongoing attention and effort over the next few years. Make sure you are engaging in this area of your life with the highest integrity, maturity, and sustained effort. The reality of your situation will show where you need to deepen your attention and tell the truth about your commitment.

The Scorpio Moon forms a passionate conjunction with Mars at 7:35 AM EST. This will awaken you with strong energy to move forward. Shortly thereafter, she forms lovely sextile aspects to both the Sun and Venus, suggesting pleasant, intimate interactions with those you love. Take advantage, it should be a sweet morning leading into a quiet afternoon and evening.

The Scorpio Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 9:54 AM EST until she enters Sagittarius at 2:04 AM EST on Friday morning. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

EXPAND YOUR VIEW

Friday, January 12, 2018:

By the time you begin the day on Friday, the Moon is in idealistic, freedom-seeking Sagittarius. This suggests an emotional need for autonomy, physical space, and exploration. Sagittarius is an optimistic sign and brings relief after the intensity of the past few days with the Scorpio Moon. You are more apt to see the humor and lightness of your circumstances and are ready to explore a more expansive view of the world and those around you.

Although the day is likely to be relatively upbeat, by evening, you may feel Mercury’s connection to Saturn looming. Communications and conversations seem to highlight the differences between yourself and others. There are indeed serious issues to consider but try not to fall into the trap of pessimistic thinking.

Be aware of your own self-talk and how you speak to others. Offer open-hearted kindness and resist the temptation to judge them. Remember, you know only your own mind and your own life, there is no space to judge the lives of others. Seek out true compassion.

AUTONOMY AND FREEDOM

Saturday, January 13, 2018:

Your best bet this weekend is to spend time alone.

Saturday begins with a heightened awareness of how differently you think from those around you and conflict arises easily. You may feel pessimistic and easily frustrated or aggravated. This is reflected in the early-morning conjunction from Mercury to Saturn.

The day does not get easier from there. At 2:08 PM EST, Venus forms a troubling square aspect to Uranus putting you at odds with your loved ones. We will all need a sense of autonomy and freedom. Taking time for yourself is the smartest choice you can make.

It is unlikely that you and those you love will want to go in the same direction, so go ahead and go your separate ways. Allowing that to be okay and supporting each other in this choice will support each of you. There is no need to explain yourself. We all need time alone.

As Venus sextiles Chiron at 9:51 PM EST, any issues of abandonment that came from the separation are able to be healed. Connect deeply on Saturday night as you will again need time alone on Sunday.

RESTLESSNESS AND DISTANCE

Sunday, January 14, 2018:

If you assume that needing time alone was a one-off for Saturday, you’ll be in for a surprise when the same need shows up on Sunday thanks to a restless, unsettling square between the serious Capricorn Sun and detached eccentric Uranus.

The Moon enters Capricorn at 2:43 PM EST increasing a need for emotional distance. Again, give yourself and others lots of physical and emotional space. This would be a good day to work on individual, innovative projects that require long-term effort.

The Sagittarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 3:48 AM EST until she enters Capricorn at 2:43 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

HAPPY (SERIOUS) HOLIDAY

Monday, December 25, 2017:

The week begins with Venus, the planet of love and deep, personal values, entering serious Capricorn at 12:25 AM EST. There are now four major planets, who act as our teachers, in the Cardinal Earth sign of accomplished Capricorn. This should alert you to the seriousness of your deeply held values, romantic connections, and the creation of beauty in your life.

Before the end of the day, lovely Venus joins with stabilizing Saturn, starting a one year cycle of combining values with steadfast ambition and necessary effort.

This may not be as lighthearted a holiday as we may have hoped, and yet, our values, sensitivity, understanding of beauty, feelings of self-worth, and relationships are deepened, even as they are brought into full focus.

The Moon remains in dreamy, compassionate Pisces until 8:26 PM EST, when she enters fiercely determined Aries. Pay attention to the tendency toward aggravation, impatience, and arguments with family members this evening and over the next few days. Head home early for a quiet evening to unwind and settle down after a big day.

The Pisces Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 9:49 PM EST on Sunday, until she enters Aries at 7:26 PM EST on Monday. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

A DAY OF ACTIVTY

Tuesday, December 26, 2017:

Tuesday begins with the brave Aries Moon forming a stressful square aspect to the persistent Capricorn Sun. This is the First Quarter phase of the Moon, asking that you take action on what you began last week at the New Moon.

When Aries and Capricorn work together, it offers an ambitious combination of drive and initiative. Impatience may cause problems on Tuesday and, if you have the day off due to the holiday, it may be difficult to relax; so don’t even try!

If you live in a winter climate, this is the perfect day to go skiing, snowboarding, or any other active sport. Working out at the gym or getting yourself to a climbing wall would be appropriate. This is not a day to sit by the fire and read a book!

When the Moon trines Mercury at 9:27 PM EST, it may be difficult to settle the mind down for sleep. Avoid any high intensity before sleep, engage in simple conversation or reading before bed. Keep electronics out of the bedroom to assist in getting a good night’s sleep.

RELEASE OLD RESENTMENTS

Wednesday, December 27, 2017:

A Christmas Carol by Dante Gabriel Rossetti via Wiki Media

Wednesday may be challenging or downright difficult, as the energetic and dynamic Aries Moon engages both Pluto and Uranus in stressful conversations. Watch your response to others and be ready to get out of your own way. Consider how you respond to having your feelings hurt, any feeling of generalized anxiety, and the feeling of being put-upon by the expectations of others.

Understand that everyone you encounter is in a tight spot themselves, so do what you can to calm and settle whatever environment you are in.

These difficulties, if they surface today, are a reminder of the bigger challenges that have been with us over the past few years. Revisit issues in order to continue the process of releasing old resentments and grudges. Consider this an opportunity to do those things.

The Aries Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 3:58 PM EST until she enters Taurus at 1:24 AM EST on Thursday. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

IMPRESSIONS AND IMAGES

Thursday, December 28, 2017:

Thursday begins with a lovely trine aspect from assertive Mars to dreamy Neptune. This aspect may make us feel inspired to bring a dream into the world that began in January of 2017, when Mars and Neptune last joined together. Pay attention to whatever impressions and images are releasing their gifts into our lives.

What daydream did you begin at the beginning of 2017? If it turned out to be an unrealistic fantasy, now you can begin the process of releasing it. If it is a dream you want to continue to pursue, its gifts are being brought forth at this time.

When Mars and Neptune come together, there is a sense of idealism and the possibility of wearing rose colored glasses. We may experience other’s charisma even as others experience the same in ourselves. This is a reflection of the beauty of us all.

Thursday is a great time to engage in creative endeavors, particularly in areas of film, poetry, and music. Today, we have the focus to push forward to see our dreams flourish over the coming year.

The Moon is VOC* from 3: 57 PM EST, until she enters Taurus at 1:24 AM EST on Thursday morning. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

CREATE BEAUTY

Friday, December 29, 2017:

Following a powerful flowing trine aspect to Pluto at 10:00 AM EST, the steadfast Taurus Moon heads into a prolonged period of quiet until she enters Gemini on Saturday morning.

On this day: REST.

Allow activity to resume over the weekend but do not push for it before Saturday morning.

The Moon in earthy Taurus brings a stable, grounded energy to the day. Ruled by Venus, Taurus connects you fully to your physical body. Emotions are stabilized through connecting with the body and through building or creating something tangible.

It is important to stay fully connected with our physical body at this time. Get a massage, eat a meal (go with comfort food), take a bath, or make love.

Pay attention to the feeding of all of your sentences -sight, sound, taste, touch, and scent. Focus on the aesthetics of your environment. Venus delights and thrives in beautiful surroundings. Buy flowers for your bedroom, wear your most beautiful clothes, and help to bring beauty into your world.

The Taurus Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 10:00 AM EST until she enters Gemini at 4:31 AM EST on Saturday. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

HUMOR, VERSATILITY, AND CONVERSATION

Saturday, December 30, 2017:

By the time you wake on Saturday morning, we will be ready to put our best social foot forward. With the Moon in versatile, inquisitive Gemini, we can anticipate that the trickster (Mercury) is on the move. Life seems more like a game that we must simply play, with humor being a way to defuse any serious challenges or situations you may encounter.

Get out and visit with others before preparing for the New Year’s.

Make sure that you have the mental stimulation you require; without it you will experience a certain amount of restlessness and nervous agitation. Keep busy with communications and intellectual engagement.

2017 ENDS ON A NOTE OF INSPIRATION

Sunday, December 31, 2017:

Sunday offers a delightful day to end the year on!

The Moon is in alert and enthusiastic Gemini. Be sure that the folks you spend the evening with are the type of people who will provide you with the intellectual stimulation that you will need.

Go ahead and allow yourself to talk, laugh, and engage with many folks through any medium; emails, phone calls, and text messages abound. Allow that level of engagement to be just what the day is about. Keep the motion and the communications going or you will find yourself restless and on-edge.

At 6:38 PM EDT, the Moon forms a sextile (which suggest an opportunity) aspect to unconventional Uranus assuring an exciting evening and end to the 2017.

2018 comes in with inspiration, a focus on individuality – and a bit of defiance.

You can anticipate this week being easier than last week. For one thing, you have likely become a bit accustomed to Mercury’s retrograde motion. That, along with the fact that Mercury has distanced itself a bit from Saturn, brings some much needed relief for everyone.

At the very least, the more challenging issues of your life can be kept at bay as you prepare for the holiday. Don’t let stress in… Relax, enjoy family and friends.

BEAUTY AND CHARM

Monday, December 11, 2017:

Just as the day begins, the Moon enters Libra, making no major aspects to other planets throughout the day. This keeps the emotional energy feeling more purely Libran.

With the Moon in Libra, your attention is on how to create beauty in all areas of your life. You want to make relationships work smoothly, bringing diplomacy and charm to the surface of your connections with others.

When you get to work on Monday morning, you may notice that folks are on their best and most appealing behavior.

This is a great day to join together with co-workers to decorate and create beauty in your work environment. It should be easy to work together as long as someone in the group is able to make decisive decisions.

The challenge of the day may come in the form of indecisiveness, difficulty being as assertive as you may need to be, or finding yourself pulled toward simple self-indulgence.

All in all, this is a day to enjoy.

ENGAGED COMMUNICATIONS

Tuesday, December 12, 2017:

The ease of Monday’s balanced Libra Moon gives way to more activity and tension on Tuesday. The Moon makes difficult, challenging aspects to both destructive Pluto and inspirational Uranus, requiring you to re-engage with certain tensions from the past.

The adventurous Sagittarius Sun joins with talkative Mercury on Tuesday, placing the focus on your thoughts and communications. You are likely to have a great deal of interactions with others. These conversations and interactions are apt to be a mixed bag. Some may be highly engaging and exciting, even as others are quite difficult or challenging.

Don’t forget for a moment that Mercury is retrograde, make sure you hear what is actually being said rather than what you expect, fear, or desire.

In all your communication with others, make sure to take the high road, show kindness, an open heart, and acceptance.

ENGAGE WITH INTENSITY AND PASSION

Wednesday, December 13, 2017:

Hügelland im Winter by Hugo Baar via Wiki Media

Keep in mind that the Moon sets the emotional tone as it moves through the Zodiac and changes signs every 2 ½ days. Paying attention to its passage will help you learn to move with the emotional flow through the course of your life.

At 8:59 AM EST, the Moon enters the penetrating, passionate sign of Scorpio. The Scorpio Moon brings great intensity to the day. You will find yourself more motivated than usual to get to the bottom of whatever you encounter and to understand what is below the surface.

This is also a time to explore the darker, hidden aspects of yourself. Consider the mysteries of life and of any secrets that you hold. Pay attention to the importance of personal integrity. Watch your actions and make sure you are not unconsciously engaged in manipulative tactics.

Go deep. Engage with passion and empowerment alongside profound kindness and powerful understanding.

The Libra Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 7:27 AM EST until she enters Scorpio at 8:59 AM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

EMPOWERMENT AND HEALING

Thursday, December 14, 2017:

With the Moon still in deeply intense Scorpio, you are unlikely to be interested in superficial conversations or connections with others. This is a day marked by intensified passion and desire. Emotions are heightened and connections, if they are made at all, run deep.

Some of you may prefer to spend the day in private introspection and even secretive contemplations. However you choose to spend the day, you will want to control the depth and intensity of the narrative.

This deeply private Moon enjoys pleasant conversations with dreamy Neptune, expansive Jupiter, and powerful Pluto. Your connections with others or with yourself will be deeply empowered and potentially healing. Allow depth, passion, and transformation to move you forward on your personal path.

The Scorpio Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 8:42 PM EST until she enters Sagittarius on Friday at 8:08 PM EST! This is a very long VOC* Moon! Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

CONSIDER NEW DIRECTIONS

Friday, December 15, 2017:

The Moon stays in Scorpio (and is VOC* all day) until entering Sagittarius at 8:08 PM EST. Nothing you do today will have a big impact on the future… keep that in mind.

At 9:08 AM EST, Mercury retrograde joins with Venus in adventurous Sagittarius, pulling your thoughts, communications, and thinking to issues of beauty, money, and love. The intensity of the Scorpio Moon stands aside to allow your thoughts to go to new adventures and explorations of the mind. This will not be a brand new perspective but a renewed look at past ideas.

You may find yourself thinking about a different direction for your artistic pursuits, how to create more abundance in your finances, or overhauling your love life. Don’t make any permanent decisions on any of these issues with Mercury retrograde. Explore your ideas and set them aside for now. You will have time to come back to these issues and make decisions in March of 2018 when Mercury and Venus come together once more.

If you are looking for a fun night out on the town or with friends, Friday or Saturday will fit the bill. The idealistic Sagittarius Sun forms a lovely trine aspect to innovative Uranus at 6:27 AM EST on Saturday morning. This will be in effect for most of Friday and Saturday. Allow yourself to have fun while exploring new horizons, new ideas, and imagining an entirely new future.

The Scorpio Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) all day until she enters Sagittarius at 8:08 PM EST. This is a very long VOC* Moon! Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

GAIN A NEW PERSPECTIVE

Saturday, December 16, 2017:

You can anticipate an upbeat, exciting day with both the Sun and the Moon in optimistic Sagittarius on Saturday. To top that off, Uranus forms a positive, flowing trine aspect to the Sun in the morning. This should be an upbeat and unusual day; expect the unexpected in all things.

Anticipate heading to bed on Saturday night with new thoughts and ideas rumbling through your consciousness. The depth of intensity of the past few days is past and you are feeling more positive as you look to new ways of viewing the world. You are ready to take on a new study, a new philosophy, or you simply want to experience freedom and individuation.

You will not respond well to anyone trying to control you at this time. You want to travel, explore new ideas and ways of living. Gather with others, get curious about the way people who are very unlike you, in beliefs and lifestyle, think. Ask questions, gain a new perspective.

OPEN YOUR MIND

Sunday, December 17, 2017:

Sunday is a simple continuation of the theme from Saturday. However, do keep in mind that before you wake on Monday morning, we reach the Sagittarius New Moon!

I will talk about that fully in Monday’s post. Be aware throughout the day that we are in the darkest phase of the Moon. This is a quiet time, even with the Sagittarian focus on exploration.

Allow your exploration to be internally focused. Seek out your own idealistic, philosophical wisdom. Spend time exploring and contemplating on the philosophical values and beliefs of people who are very different from yourself and the culture you grew up in. Open yourself to understanding what seemed foreign to your thinking in the past.

This is a day to break through barriers of tight, inflexible thinking. Open your mind and allow light to flood your awareness.

4 Simple Steps to Managing Mercury Retrograde:

The big news of the week comes on Sunday, December 3rd at 2:43 AM EST, when Mercury turns retrograde at 29° Sagittarius.

“La Petra Camara” by Théodore Chassériau

Take time to prepare for the upcoming three weeks. Mercury will turn direct once again on December 22nd. If you have followed my writing over the years, you are familiar with the best ways to work with Mercury retrograde.

  1. Don’t be afraid, worried, or concerned!
  2. Get a notebook and a pen. Make a list of everything that you have begun but haven’t completed in the past few months.
  3. During the retrograde, get to work! Accomplish what is on this list and only what is on this list.
  4. Don’t be tempted to start new projects, or take on new commitments, new relationships, or new jobs.

Mercury retrograde brings us a great gift, the perfect opportunity to wrap up loose ends!

THE UNDERPINNINGS OF MAGIC

Monday, November 27, 2017:

In the very early morning hours of Monday, the poetic Pisces Moon joins fanciful Neptune and we start the week in a bit of a dreamy fog. Perhaps, you are just coming back from a long weekend and really would prefer to keep your head under the pillows and sleep the day away.

However, your deeper awareness understands that things are about to get serious as Tuesday’s conjunction of perceptive Mercury to hard-working Saturn can be felt throughout the day. Mercury is moving slowly, as the planet of our thoughts prepares to turn retrograde (December 3 – December 22).

A great use for these energies would be to work on the serious goals you are considering in a free-flowing manner; don’t get into the details, develop the dream!

Prepare an intention statement for your life, work, family, and relationships.

Make sure that you have begun anything you want to work on between now and the end of the year so that projects don’t get stalled during Mercury retrograde.

Do serious work with imagination and understanding of divine magic. All that you are able to accomplish has the underpinnings of magic!

SERIOUS THINKING – SERIOUS CONVERSATION

Tuesday, November 28, 2017:

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, Mercury and Saturn join together as they begin a new cycle of bringing your attention to conversations, effort, and work that is required.

Once Mercury goes retrograde on Sunday of this week, we will encounter this same aspect on December 6th and again on January 13, 2018. This allows us time to contemplate the serious intent involved. Currently, both planets are in the last degrees of Sagittarius and are asking that we look at very significant issues from the perspective of our highest understanding.

When they join together in January, they’ll be in the early degrees of Capricorn and asking that we go to a deeper place of integrity and responsibility!

For now, consider a serious conversation that must begin; it will be ongoing and will circle back around over the coming months. You can only sweep it under the rug for so long. There is no reason to wait or to fear the outcome.

As Saturn enters Capricorn on December 20th, you will be called to stabilize your thinking, get clear on your direction in work, growth, and your greater understanding of yourself and the world.

At 11:31 PM EST, the Moon leaves dreamy Pisces behind and enters fiercely assertive Aries. It is time to set aside any dreaminess, wistfulness, or escapism; it is time to push forward, to take action with courage and assertiveness.

The Pisces Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 7:08 AM EST until she enters Aries at 11:31 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

This is a day best suited to working on your own. If you must work within the context of a group, there can be some challenges in determining who the leader is and who the follower is, as someone is going to want to be the boss!

CLARITY AND CONFIDENCE

Wednesday, November 29, 2017:

Wednesday brings with it free-flowing, fully engaged energies as the feisty Aries Moon forms a lovely trine aspect to the idealistic Sagittarius Sun. If you have planets between 6° – 8° of the Fire Signs (Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius), this will be a very affirmative and expressive day for you. Emotions and intentions are positively aligned, following the same path with joy and determination.

You are probably best off working on your own with the Moon in impatient, independent Aries, although early in the day, it will be easier to take others into consideration.

Wednesday evening brings the aggressive Aries Moon to a direct, challenging square aspect with powerful Pluto. This suggests the possibility of difficult power dynamics or underhanded tactics. Given that this occurs at 6:54 PM EST, it may be wise to spend the evening alone or allow a lot of space and independence to all concerned.

Allow clarity and confidence to embrace you as this courageous Aries Moon grows toward a clever and inquisitive Gemini Full Moon on Sunday.

LET KIND WORDS END THE DAY

Thursday, November 30, 2017:

With the Moon in Aries, you may find yourself quick to act with courage or anger. You may notice a desire to take risks that normally would not appeal to you.

Early on Thursday morning, the Moon makes aspects to both dynamic Mars and eccentric Uranus. You tend to be focused on yourself and may be impatient with others and easily angered; unfortunately, they are probably feeling the same way. It will be a good morning to keep your thoughts to yourself or at least to think through them carefully before opening your mouth.

At 11:49 AM EST, when the Moon forms a lovely, supportive trine aspect to Saturn, and, shortly thereafter, to Mercury, you will relax and have more awareness of the significance of timing and the feelings of others.

At 3:39 PM EST, the Moon enters Taurus, bringing a steadfast calm to our emotional environment. If you acted without forethought earlier in the day or over the past few days, it will be painfully apparent. You can repair any damage done with levelheaded stability and heartfelt, kind words.

The Aries Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 1:38 PM EST until she enters Taurus at 3:39 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

LOVE AND TENSION

Friday, December 1, 2017:

Early on Friday morning, Venus enters freedom-loving Sagittarius. Venus is the planet that represents our deepest values. It represents our love relationships, our relationship to money, resources, and all things of beauty. Venus takes approximately one year to move through all the signs of the zodiac. On her path through the signs, she brings our awareness to the beauty of each sign.

On November 7th, Venus entered Scorpio. What have you learned in these past three weeks about the depth of love and beauty? Have you encountered lessons about how love transforms us, about passion, introspection, and depth?

Now, as Venus moves into Sagittarius, the lessons of love take a lighter turn. It is time to think of love, money, and beauty as a philosophical quest. This is a time to gain understanding even as you seek freedom and idealism in the arms of love.

Venus will remain in Sagittarius until December 25th, when she enters Capricorn to  help us with lessons of integrity and responsibility.

Another highly significant occurrence on Friday is the opposition from dynamic action-taking Mars to revolutionary Uranus. The cycle between Mars and Uranus is approximately a two year cycle of bringing courage and direct action to the unsettling humanitarian needs of our lives and our times.

This cycle began in late February of 2017. Consider carefully what began at that time. Looking back, what is the clarity of your vision, where have your actions brought you now? Consider what changes must be made to bring your understanding of the need for revolutionary action to take place in your own life or in how you support it in the world.

If you have planets or points between 23 and 27 degrees of Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, or Capricorn), this will have direct significance in your personal life. Please share your thoughts! I would love to hear your experiences with this.

The Taurus Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 8:53 PM EST until she enters Gemini at 4:20 PM EST on Saturday. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

DEEPEN COMPASSION

Saturday, December 2, 2017:

Saturday brings with it a talkative, enthusiastic Gemini Moon. This bodes well for a social day full of conversations, curiosity, and mental stimulation. A day of rest is not in the cards, you will get that on Sunday. You will feel best with lots of interaction; without it you may end up restless and irritable. Plan for social time with friends and acquaintances.

On Saturday evening, at 9:19 PM EST, expansive Jupiter forms a lovely, flowing trine to dreamy Neptune. This is a major planetary aspect that will occur three times between now and August of 2018. This transit brings with it a sense of hope and an interest in undertaking or deepening a spiritual quest for truth. You will be called over the coming months to seek deeper wisdom and clarity through poetry, music, dreams, visions, meditation, and mystical communion.

Compassion deepens as you see your profound connection to the poor, sick, and suffering of humanity. You may open to the possibility of following your dreams with less need to control the outcome as you are more inclined to trust your intuition. Love and romance may also open a path to higher understanding and compassion. Seek an authentic manner that you can bring love to the suffering of the world. Find a way to be of service to those in need.

The Taurus Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) all day until she enters Gemini at 4:20 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

GEMINI FULL MOON – MERCURY TURNS RETROGRADE

Sunday, December 3, 2017:

Three significant events occur on Sunday:

  • By the time you wake up, Mercury has turned retrograde at 29° Sagittarius.
  • At 10:47 AM EST, we come to the Full Moon at 11° Gemini. Remember, the Full Moon brings full illumination to what occurred at the Scorpio New Moon on November 18th. Whatever your focus or whatever you began at the New Moon will show its results with clarity now.
  • At 6:43 AM EST, the Sun squares Neptune, possibly creating a challenge in motivation and enthusiasm. You may feel some confusion and disappointment and your vitality may feel weakened. Allow yourself to rest, watch movies, and expect nothing. Self-care is the most important aspect of your day.

Take time to prepare for the upcoming three weeks until Mercury turns direct once again on December 22nd at 13° Sagittarius. If you have followed my writing over the years, you’re familiar with the best ways to work with Mercury’s retrograde periods.

Here is your reminder:

4 Simple Steps to Managing Mercury Retrograde:

UPBEAT (FOR THE MOST PART) START TO THE DAY

Monday, November 20, 2017:

The Moon is in Sagittarius throughout Monday, offering a generally upbeat and lighthearted start to the week.

Keep in mind that the sign the Moon is traveling through on any given day sets the emotional tone for the day. The aspects the Moon makes to other planets brings us face to face with the energy of those planets in a way that is represented by the aspect in question, some supportive and others challenging.

If you wake up very early, the optimistic Sagittarius Moon may be quite talkative, as she meets up with perceptive chatty Mercury at 5:37 AM EST.

Mid-afternoon, the Moon connects with Chiron (the planet that represents a deep felt wound) in Pisces. This suggests a challenge between your opinions and the reality of your circumstance.

At 4:44 PM EST, she forms a beautiful flowing trine to Uranus. You can expect excitement or possibly stress, something that amps up the conversation and the day.

At 7:27 PM EST, she makes her final aspect of the day, joining with Saturn at 26° Sagittarius. You may feel let down or in some manner restricted, sad or lonely. Allow yourself to settle in and look clearly at the reality of the situation. It is not so bad and will pass quickly if you don’t get pulled into any dramas.  Please go out of your way to be extra kind to yourself and those around you on Monday evening.

The Sagittarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 7:27 PM EST until she enters Capricorn on Tuesday morning at 2:14 AM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

SUN ENTERS SAGITTARIUS – SEEK HIGHER UNDERSTANDING

Tuesday, November 21, 2017:

The big news on Tuesday comes at 10:04 PM EST. when the Sun, following her long haul through the deep, passionate waters of Scorpio, now enters fun-loving, explorative Sagittarius! Over the coming month, we reach out to understand and see the bigger picture and the perspective of others.

The emotional environment of the day turns serious as the Moon enters hard-working and realistic Capricorn at 2:14 AM EST.

Take time on Tuesday to think back to your situation and circumstances in late November of 2016. At that time, a cycle began that has been profoundly transforming your personal values, resources, or a love relationship. Do you remember something specific beginning at that time?

Since then, the cycle between Venus and Pluto has proceeded forward as the energy between these two grew, the transformation began, culminated, and is now waning. Whatever began at that time came to full fruition in mid-August, 2017. Now, we come to a closing sextile aspect between them.

Graceful Venus and powerful Pluto now offer you the opportunity to begin actively planning for the new cycle that will begin in early January of 2018. This does not mean that what began last year will actually end (although that is a possibility, if it is necessary for your ultimate growth), it will, however, begin a new phase or a new level to your love relationship or your relationship to your resources or values.

Begin now to plan for the future you want. This extends and empowers the cycle between Jupiter and Venus that began last week.

Where do you plan to create more beauty and love in your life?

MOVE THE DREAM AHEAD

Wednesday, November 22, 2017:

Metamorphosis by Piet Mondrian via Wiki Media

The sometimes pessimistic Capricorn Moon forms a deeply challenging connection with the occasionally destructive Pluto. Watch any tendencies to engage in coercive power dynamics with others. With the Moon in Capricorn, the way to transform any dark edges of your heart is through disciplined responsibility and integrity.

On Wednesday, at 9:20 AM EST, Neptune stations to turn direct at 11° Pisces. Neptune has been moving retrograde since mid-June, and has been asking you to reevaluate an important dream, artistic venture, or spiritual path.

Consider a significant dream in your heart that has been on hold since that time. Over the coming days, this dream will come back to life and begin pushing forward.

For clues to what area of your life is being activated in this way, consider where Pisces falls in your chart. If you don’t know, allow your intuition to guide you.

Simply contemplate a dream you set aside in June that is now ready to move forward. Begin the process!

QUIRKY INNOVATIONS

Thursday, November 23, 2017:

In the early morning hours of Thursday, the serious Capricorn Moon engages in a stressful conversation with Uranus, the planet of upheaval, excitement, and, sometimes, stress. Don’t get wrapped up in any of it, allow stress to roll off your back. It will pass quickly.

At 3:15 PM EST, the Moon leaves hard-working Capricorn behind to enter innovative, humanitarian Aquarius. You may notice that you are not as attached to your own emotions and are able to be more objective regarding situations and circumstances you find yourself in. You are able to see the big picture without getting stuck in your own personal narrative.

At 7:05 PM EST, the quirky Aquarius Moon forms a lovely sextile aspect to the adventurous Sagittarius Sun opening the evening to the prospect of visionary explorations of people, cultures, and events.

The Capricorn Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 5:33 AM EST until she enters the Aquarius at 3:15 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

CLARITY IS OF VITAL IMPORTANCE

Friday, November 24, 2017:

I don’t generally talk about asteroids, minor planets, or comets, but with Friday’s early morning challenging square aspect from Mercury, the planet of our thoughts and communications, to Chiron, who represents our deep wounds and the healing of those wounds, this transit is worthy of our attention.

Chiron was originally labeled an asteroid and is now classified as a minor planet and a comet. With Thursday’s pattern between Chiron and Mercury in play, communications could hurt or heal; pay attention to your words. Check to make sure you are not misunderstanding others or being misunderstood. It may be difficult to read the intentions behind what is being said, clarity is vitally important.

With the Moon in Aquarius throughout the day, you are apt to be drawn toward what is new and unusual. You have the ability to be a bit more objective or even detached than usual. Spend time with others, plan for a future that includes the growth and importance of community, social gatherings and interactions.

You will require more freedom than usual, don’t try to keep yourself in anyone else’s boxes!

HUMANITARIAN VISIONING

Saturday, November 25, 2017:

Saturday is an incredibly Aquarian day! Not only is the Moon in Aquarius, but she is very active, forming connections with aggressive Mars, refined Venus, out-of-the-ordinary Uranus, mental Mercury, and stabilizing Saturn.

More importantly, Mercury is forming a lovely flowing trine aspects to Uranus (the ruling planet of Aquarius)! Aquarian energies abound.

What are Aquarius’ energies, you ask? Here is a simple list of keywords to consider: progressive, objective, innovative, unusual, revolutionary, and quirky. Days of hyper Aquarian energy tend to bring excitement, anxiety, or a combination of these, to the table.

This is an important day to gather with like-minded others to plan and prepare for a future that supports all of us. This is a day for humanitarian visioning. You are able to see beyond your personal needs and desires and see what is necessary for the good of all. Make a substantial donation (whatever that means in your current circumstances) to a cause that you deeply believe in.

The Aquarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 9:36 PM EST until she enters Pisces on Sunday morning at 3:04 AM EST.

Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

DREAM YOUR FUTURE

Sunday, November 26, 2017:

Long before you wake up on Sunday morning, the Moon leaves quirky, social Aquarius behind and enters Pisces. At 12:03 PM EST, the Pisces Moon forms a challenging square aspect to the Sagittarius Sun. This brings us to the First Quarter Square of the Lunar Cycle.

Consider what you began at the powerful Scorpio New Moon on Saturday, November 18th. It is important now to take some action that will push forward the growth of whatever idea or project you began at the New Moon.

This is a day to take action, to move something forward in the development of your future.

With the Moon in dreamy Pisces, you have the creative option of developing your plans through the visioning of the future. Reality may not seem very appealing but your imagination and intuition are strong. A perfect day for developing a vision board or a creative writing project that will support the process of creating your future reality.

Your feeling nature is deep; dream your future into being.
