Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: July 23, 2018 through July 29, 2018

The upcoming six months may well pivot on the activities and occurrences of this week.

First, keep in mind that Mars is still retrograde until August 27th. Continue to explore and examine issues of aggression and anger. Understand where you have misused these energies and do what needs to be done to learn better, less hurtful ways of getting what you want.

Mercury turns retrograde on Thursday and will remain so until August 19th. Please remember that this not something to worry about once you know how to manage it. Take the opportunity to complete tasks and projects rather than moving forward to new ones. Resist beginning new projects, partnerships, or plans. If you have significant communications or purchases that need to be made, wait.

As we approach the Lunar Eclipse on Friday afternoon, you will want to pay special attention to your own life circumstances and the world around you. What makes this lunar eclipse particularly significant is the involvement of both Mars (aggression, anger, action) and Uranus (expect the unexpected).

An eclipse represents a point of high intensity, possible crisis, and change. What occurs at the eclipse will hold our attention over the coming months until the next lunar eclipse in January of 2019.

Look for the area (house) of your chart that holds 4° Aquarius. This indicates the area of life that requires a great deal of attention over the coming months. A new story or a change in the story of this life area will develop from what occurs now.

A NEW PERSPECTIVE

Monday, July 23, 2018:

There may be a sense of listlessness in the air when you awake this morning. You’d like to pull the covers over your head and resist facing the day at all.

The Moon is in Sagittarius which normally keeps us feeling open and ready to explore and experience new ideas and directions. However, as she forms a challenging aspect to both Venus and Neptune, she feels lazy and looks for an easy escape. Perhaps, your needs are pulling you in one direction and your desires are pulling you in another.

These are Moon aspects and will pass quickly. It’s possible all you really need is to engage in a conversation with someone who can show you a different perspective or an entirely new worldview. Push yourself a bit to see or experience something you have resisted in the past. You will be pleased you did and the world will never look quite the same.

DEVELOP MASTERY

Tuesday, July 24, 2018:

The emotional environment is calm and uneventful for most of Tuesday with the Moon VOC* in Sagittarius. This may leave you quite susceptible to unrealistic, overly romantic notions and ideas as Venus oppose Neptune at 3:22 PM EDT. Don’t jump to any conclusions or make any decisions as it is unlikely that you have all the information necessary to do so. Meditation or prayer (whatever that means to you) will be helpful to keep confusion at bay.

Reality and clear thinking don’t have a place at the table until the Moon enters Capricorn at 5:49 PM EDT. If you have been lost in whimsy or escapism, you may be distressed to have reality show itself so clearly at that time. It is important that you roll with the shift and allow yourself to re-dedicate yourself to your responsibilities. Keep in mind the necessity of reality and hard work in order to develop integrity and mastery in all parts of your life.

The Sagittarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 4:22 AM EDT until she enters Capricorn at 5:49 PM EDT. When the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from what is begun. This is neutral, simply suggesting that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

SETTING THE STAGE

Wednesday, July 25, 2018:

The dramatic Leo Sun squares Uranus on Wednesday morning setting the stage for the Lunar Eclipse on Friday. You may have a powerful urge to break free or rebel against someone or something that you feel is holding you back. Freedom beckons.

Mercury, however, is standing stock still, ready to turn retrograde in the early hours of Thursday morning. Regardless of how strong the urge is to make a sudden change, hold steady and watch what is unfolding in the outer world. There are steps to be taken and issues to revisit before the path will be truly clear. You can anticipate feeling off-kilter, possibly overly excited or plagued with anxiety. Understanding that this is impacting everyone, you can model calm kindness to others.

Watch for unanticipated news, inspirations, and epiphanies. Get out of any ruts you may be stuck in and allow your mind to absorb something you never expected.

The cycle between the Sun and Uranus is a cycle of independence and intensification. The cycle began in mid-April, can you see a connection now with something that began at that time?

MERCURY RETROGRADE

Thursday, July 26, 2018:

Along with Mars retrograde (since June 26) and anticipating Friday’s Lunar Eclipse, Mercury turns retrograde (at 23° Leo) at 1:02 AM EDT.  People worry so much about Mercury retrograde but it really is fairly easy to manage.

4 Simple Steps to Manage Mercury retrograde:
⦁ Don’t be afraid, worried, or concerned and don’t listen to folks who spread anxiety.
⦁ Make a list of everything that you have begun but NOT completed since April 15, 2018; dig deep, there are probably more things than you are aware of. There are probably appointments you have been meaning to make, projects left undone, communications fallen through the cracks, books unfinished, etc.
⦁ Accomplish what is on this list, and only what is on this list, nothing more, nothing less.
⦁ Don’t be tempted to start new projects, begin new commitments, new relationships, or new jobs.
If you follow these simple steps, you will be amazed at how much you can accomplish during this 3 week period!
Remember that these are guidelines; not rules. There are things that can not be put off. Be practical and do what must be done.
Also please remember: Mercury is retrograde, Mercury is NOT IN retrograde.

Thursday’s Capricorn Moon is VOC* all day. You may notice frustration as Capricorn wants to get stuff done but being VOC*, it is best to work on mundane projects only. Keep breathing, practice keeping your heart open and offer kindness to all whom you encounter.

The Capricorn Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 9:42 AM EDT until she enters Aquarius on Friday morning at 6:41 AM EDT. When the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from what is begun. This is neutral, simply suggesting that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

A BIG DEAL LUNAR ECLIPSE

Friday, July 27, 2018:

Friday brings us to the big deal Lunar Eclipse. A Lunar Eclipse always occurs on a Full Moon and is basically an amped-up Full Moon on steroids. This Lunar Eclipse is particularly significant due to its close contact with both defiant, unsettling Uranus and aggressive, sharp, cutting Mars. These are very volatile energies coming into play.

The Moon enters Aquarius at 6:41 AM EDT, easing the potential emotional distress as Aquarius offers perspective and even detachment if necessary.

The difficulties inherent in this eclipse may unfold in your personal circumstances or you may watch it unfold in the outer world. Pay attention to your life circumstances and the world around you. An eclipse represents a point of high intensity, possible crisis, and change. What occurs at the eclipse will hold our attention over the coming months until the next lunar eclipse in January 2019.

Look for the area (house) of your chart that holds 4° Aquarius. This indicates the area of life that requires a great deal of attention over the coming months. A new story or a change in the story of this life area will develop from what occurs now.

Keep your eyes open as you give of yourself to help others. There is much need in the world and in your community for kindness. Helping others is the best way to care for yourself. With Venus trine Pluto at the end of the day, there is great power in love. Express it freely.

The Capricorn Moon is VOC* Friday morning until she enters Aquarius at 6:41 AM EDT. When the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from what is begun. This is neutral, simply suggesting that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

“Beginning today, treat everyone you meet as if they were going to be dead by midnight. Extend to them all the care, kindness and understanding you can muster, and do it with no thought of any reward. Your life will never be the same again.”

LEARN TO LOVE

Saturday, July 28, 2018:

Saturday is a great day for self-reflection and to take a break from the direction you have been moving. Wait and watch. Take whatever time you need to consider your options for the day. Don’t just automatically do what is expected of you by yourself or others. Look for a different path.

The Moon is in innovative, unconventional Aquarius. Seek out people you don’t generally engage with. Listen and learn from folks who live a different reality. We all tend to spend time with people who look, behave, and live much as we do. Break out of that mold.

How can we possibly develop compassion and understanding for folks, the likes of which, we have never gotten to know? Seek out people of a different race, sexuality, gender identification, age group, nationality, political affiliation (yes, even that). Listen. Learn to love those who do not live like you. We are all human and we all have valid reasons for our proclivities.

BREAK FREE

Sunday, July 29, 2018:

Sunday is a quiet day astrologically. All the intensity earlier in the week is now being assimilated by each of us. With the Moon now in Aquarius, continue the theme of Saturday by reaching out to understand others. Aquarius suggests the need to march to the beat of a different drummer. Allow yourself to not only engage with others who are different from you but to express the parts of yourself that are most unique. Others will have more understanding of your quirks, and yet it will matter less to you if they do not.

Spend the day in social interactions, don’t let anyone influence your most unusual expressions. Allow the most rebellious and spontaneous parts of your personality to emerge. Break out of any routines or ruts that hold you back. You can break bad habits most easily under the influence of the objective Aquarius Moon. Break free.

The Aquarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 5:25 AM EDT until she enters Pisces at 7:28 PM EDT.
When the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

“We use astrology most constructively and creatively when we gain from it a sense of what is possible for us at the highest levels of our potentialities. Seeing that, the challenges is then to keep our eyes open to life itself, to be able to respond appropriately when some event or change of circumstances…”
~ Dane Rudhyar, Astrological Aspects – a Process Oriented Approach, 1980.

__________________________________________________________

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.
* The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
* The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: June 25, 2018 through July 1, 2018

THE WEEK AHEAD:

This week gives us another week with super long VOC* Moons! Tuesday and Friday – All day long! As much as possible, give yourself a break on those days. Don’t expect great accomplishments. Rest and meditate!

Another thing is important for us to be thinking about: Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto are all currently moving retrograde (backward from the perspective of Planet Earth). Mars is preparing to turn retrograde this week as well (Tuesday at 5:04 PM EDT).

This is quite a pack of planets moving backward.

On July 10th, Jupiter will move forward once again, and yet, July 26th brings us another Mercury retrograde. On August 7th, Uranus will join the retrograde crew.

HERE IS A LIST OF ALL THE RETROGRADES OF 2018 prepared by my lovely and brilliant student Karen Maxon of Karen Maxon Astrology.

When any planet is retrograde, it’s energy becomes more inward. This summer is certainly a time to review and reflect on many areas of our lives. Look to the past and consider what lessons you have learned and what you need to revisit to learn those lessons more deeply. Your personal path of this inward exploration is dependent on your personal horoscope. There is much to consider for each of us. Perhaps, this is a good time for a consultation to explore these issues and better understand your path forward.

The personal planets (Mercury, Venus, and Mars) in their retrograde movement will have the most obvious impact on your personal life.

While Mars is retrograde (June 26 – Aug 27), it is best to take into consideration the ways that you have misused your drive, sexuality, and ambition. Revisit those issues, make apologies if necessary and move forward after the retrograde from a place of new understanding. I believe men, in general, are being required to look inward and face their inward unconscious assumptions of male privilege. This is not easy. Remember unconscious assumptions are unknown and often difficult to see or face.

The overlap of Mercury being retrograde at the same time that Mars is will be a challenge. Pay attention to your communications and plans. Your best bet for July and August is to contemplate, rest, and have easy expectations of your self and others. Give your loved ones a lot of space to work through their own issues without interference.

ONTO THE DAILIES:

A GENTLE RELEASE OF ATTENTION

Monday, June 25, 2018:

When you wake up on Monday morning, the Moon is in idealistic, far-seeking Sagittarius. The only aspect she makes throughout the day is a sextile to Mars at 6:32 PM EDT. This will provide energy for exploring new ideas, cultures, and ways of viewing the world. Spend the evening planning a trip, watching a documentary, or otherwise opening your mind to a worldview outside of your typical experience.

A square aspect is formed between Venus, the planet of beauty & love and Jupiter, the planet of higher understanding. The cycle between Venus and Jupiter is a cycle of the expansion of love, money, and beauty. This cycle began in November of 2017. Consider the seed of expansion that was planted at that time.

Whatever you may have begun in November is now ready to be released in preparation of a new cycle of expansion that will begin in January of 2019. This release is a gentle giving way, a release of attention, a shift of attention.

UNDERSTANDING AGGRESSION

Tuesday, June 26, 2018:

Tuesday offers a quiet day, a day to dream of travel and spiritual awakening. The Sagittarius Moon is VOC* all day following a square aspect to dreamy Neptune at 8:54 AM EDT. If you wonder why it is difficult to nail your mind down to a task consider this: Don’t try to accomplish anything.

Allow yourself to dream, allow yourself to imagine any and all expansive explorations that you desire. Don’t try to accomplish anything or start new projects. This is a day meant for dreamers.

At 5:04 PM EDT, Mars turns retrograde at 9° Aquarius, as he will remain until August 27th. Look to the house that holds Aquarius in your chart as you consider how to use this retrograde. During this time it is important that you examine how you have been using anger, aggression, and sexuality in your life. Make amends for any glaring errors. Consider how you have been impacted by the anger, sexuality, or aggressiveness of others. Re-visit. Release. Learn new ways to direct these energies moving forward.

The Sagittarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 8:54 AM EDT until she enters Capricorn on Wednesday at 11:53 AM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR LIFE

Wednesday, June 27, 2018:

Wednesday brings a decidedly heavy atmosphere as the Cancer Sun opposes restrictive Saturn. This is a day to take yourself, others, and your situation seriously. Take responsibility for where you find yourself, look clearly at reality. Don’t try to sugarcoat anything.

With the Moon entering Capricorn (ruled by Saturn) at 11:53 AM EDT and joining with Saturn before days end, this is not a day to pursue trivial issues. This is a day to spend time alone working on your own goals and ambitions. Get serious about the work that you want to accomplish. Put a stake in the ground and determine the direction that will bring you where you need to go. In late December of 2017, the Sun and Saturn came together. Consider what began at that time and you may be able to see adjustments that may need to be made now. What have you created since then and where do you want to take it as you step forward.

This is not a day for socializing.

The Capricorn Full Moon is exact shortly after midnight, tomorrow in Eastern Time. Regardless of the Full Moon being Wednesday or Thursday (depending on time zone), this Full Moon pushes us to see our mistakes clearly and made adjustments. Offer kindness to all whom you encounter, not a frivolous kindness, offer support of a more serious kind.

The Sagittarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) until she enters Capricorn at 11:53 AM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

LIFE IS SERIOUS BUSINESS

Thursday, June 28, 2018:

Depending on your time zone, the Capricorn Full Moon was last night or this morning. Life is serious business and Thursday will find a way to bring your awareness to that fact. This is not a bad thing. Your life has consequences and you have important goals to set and things to accomplish.

There are days you need to dream, days you need to play, and days you need to work. Thursday is not a day for dreaming or playing. Thursday is a day to contemplate the significance of your life and make necessary adjustments to move you in the direction that you need to go. If you are drifting or wasting your gifts, now is the time to get clarity on what needs to happen to change your course. You can make a decision now. One simple step can start a new direction.

The seriousness lightens later in the day as the Capricorn Moon sextiles both Jupiter and Neptune, showing you that no matter how serious and sober things may feel there is hope for the sweet path ahead.

PLAYFUL MIND & A DAY OF REST

Friday, June 29, 2018:

Mercury has been moving along at quite quickly, having entered Cancer only a few weeks ago on June 12th. On Friday, the planet that represents our thinking process enters expressive Leo where all our communications may take on a lively, even dramatic tone.

Mercury will be slowing down soon as it is due for another retrograde station on July 26th at 23° Leo. Due to the retrograde, Mercury will remain in Leo until entering Virgo on September 5th. This gives us a good amount of time to revisit our ability and manner of verbal expression and how we use our minds.

Again, we have a full day with the Moon VOC*. Think of it as being a time when your emotions and needs are a bit adrift, having no focus or direction. The Moon is VOC* between the time it makes its final aspect in one sign until it enters the next sign. Depending on the cycles of the other planets, this can last a few minutes, to times like now, that it can last many hours! Plan a day of rest and relaxation. Don’t expect to accomplish much besides mundane tasks. A great time to catch up on busy work; clean our your email box, do your laundry, visit your friends.

The Capricorn Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 4:59 AM EDT until she enters Aquarius shortly after midnight. Yes, you read that right… All day! Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

INNOVATIVE SOLUTIONS

Saturday, June 30, 2018:

By the time you awake on Saturday morning, the Moon has entered Aquarius, lightening your mood by bringing a good sense of objectivity to the table.
Think back to any power dynamics or other challenges that occurred last Saturday. Whatever the issue involved will rear it’s head again this weekend in a different form or from a different perspective.

At 9:01 AM EDT, Mercury (the planet that represents your thought processes and the way information travels between people) squares Uranus. If there were difficult words spoken or internal mental struggles engaged in last weekend, you may be able to find innovative solutions that will now settle the issue. Try to avoid adding fuel to the fire of something left unfinished. Look for the creative, ingenious solution.

HELP OTHERS

Sunday, July 1, 2018:

Sunday is dominated by the Aquarius Moon as there are no major aspects between other planets. With the Moon in Aquarius, you may feel a need to break free from people or situations that feel a bit claustrophobic or otherwise restrictive. This is a day to engage with your most unusual friends or the folks in your social circle who have the least in common with your world-view. You focus is likely to be objective and you are more interested in what is happening collectively than personally. You are able to open your mind to new ways of viewing the world.

Enjoy time with others, engage in intellectual conversations about the state of the world, consider what you can do to help the suffering of others in the world.

The Aquarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 6:56 PM EDT until she enters Pisces early Monday morning. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

KEEP CALM AND UNRUFFLED

Monday, February 5, 2018:

When you went to sleep on Sunday night, you may have anticipated beginning the week with diplomacy and calm. However, although the Moon continues her path through charming, social Libra, even she has her limits.

With an early-morning struggle against power hungry Pluto and a mid-afternoon challenge with defiant Uranus, Monday’s story will have elements of the bizarre and the unconventional. Watch for power plays and anti-establishment rhetoric.

This will be a good day to practice maintaining a steady level of internal peace and harmony. Remain unflustered and unruffled even as you keep your eyes wide open to your environment and those around you.

At 10:57 PM EST, the Moon enters the deep, intensely private waters of Scorpio. Head to bed, this is a wonderful night for passion between the sheets and, if that is not forthcoming, seek passion and intrigue in a deeply intense dream state.

The Libra Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 1:45 PM EST until she enters Scorpio at 10:57 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

UNEXPECTED POSSIBILITIES

Tuesday, February 6, 2018:

Tuesday is a very different day from Monday! First off, with the Moon now in Scorpio, it is less important to you that you please others. Your focus is more on internal depth and intensity. When the Moon is in Scorpio, we can oftentimes become brooding and secretive. However, as the day turns into evening, you may be surprised by unexpected connections or shifting relationship values reflected in a sextile aspect from Venus to Uranus.

Think back to early June of 2017 when the cycle between Venus and Uranus began. Did you meet someone at that time that has remained a part of your life or did you begin the development of a creative project? This is a cycle of waking up to new understanding, a new view of your deepest values, seeing what is real beneath the surface of love, resources, or beauty.

At this time, it is important to explore what you have learned since the beginning of the Venus and Uranus cycle. It is time to prepare to release and begin the next new cycle in late March of this year.

If you meet someone during the first few days of this week that opens your eyes with curiosity, understand that they may have something important to teach you regarding love or beauty. Don’t walk away. This meeting may provide an opportunity that will take root in March.

ALLOW PARADOX

Wednesday, February 7, 2018:

Wednesday morning brings us to the First Quarter Lunar Phase, a challenging square aspect between the Aquarius Sun and the Scorpio Moon. This suggests a choice between going into deep emotional spaces (Scorpio) or staying in the intellectually stimulating but emotionally detached coolness of Aquarius.

Feeling pulled in these two directions may be uncomfortable but your job is to find the balance and allow each to be expressed. Allowing paradox to exist in your heart, mind, and life expression is key to a full and joyful life. This morning offers time to practice.

However, at 1:15 PM EST, when the deeply private Scorpio Moon forms a sextile to empowered Pluto, there is value in moving into areas of depth and mysterious intensity.

At 4:57 PM EST, the Moon joins with expansive Jupiter, beginning a cycle of expanding your understanding of emotion through deep introspection and passion. Go deep or go home.

SEEKING WISDOM

Thursday, February 8, 2018:

At 8:54 AM EST, the Moon enters Sagittarius, a mutable Fire Sign. Fire brings great energy, determination, and the ability to move forward; the mutable part of the sign allows for change and adaptability.

With the Moon in Sagittarius, you want to understand more than you have understood in the past. This shows you are ready to expand your ability to see a larger view of your life, your culture, and your world. You may be drawn to explorations of other cultures and how other people think, believe, and live. You find yourself on an adventure, exploring your higher levels of understanding as you develop wisdom.

Thursday also brings us to Uranus moving beyond a 5° orb of its square to Pluto. These two ‘big kids’ on the playing field have been dancing around with this challenging square aspect between them since 2009. The conversations they have engaged in have had a powerful impact on the world culture.

Together, Uranus and Pluto speak of revolution, upheaval and profound change. We are ready to turn a corner on that conversation and begin to truly assimilate the shift in the greater world as well as our personal lives. Let’s see how that works out.

The Scorpio Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 2:17 AM EST until she enters Sagittarius at 8:54 AM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

CONSIDER A ROAD TRIP

Friday, February 9, 2018:

The Moon continues through Sagittarius on Friday, increasing your anticipation of the weekend. Your thoughts race forward; go ahead and plan an adventure for Friday evening and through Saturday! Please allow those plans to land you home for a more serious day on Sunday.

When the Moon squares Neptune at 11:04 AM EST, you may find yourself at a low point in the day. Clear thinking will not be available, so take a meditation break or go for a walk. Allow yourself space to be unproductive and trust it to pass.

At 3:33 PM EST, with the Moon now forming a sextile aspect to Mercury, mental clarity returns and you are able to get much more done that if you tried to power through the earlier part of the day.

Enjoy an adventure on Friday evening. Spend time with folks who are outside of your normal social circle. Learn about perspectives that are unlike your own. Go on a road trip or at least travel in your heart and mind.

ALLOW THE INCREASE OF LOVE

Saturday, February 10, 2018:

The Moon spends most of the day still in lighthearted, idealistic Sagittarius. At 11:38 AM EST, with the Moon forming a trine aspect to defiant, inspirational Uranus, this will be a lovely morning for brunch with friends. Meet with friends who will engage you in interesting, expansive conversations about thoughts and ideas. Don’t spend time with folks who gossip or bring you down.

If your love connections have felt a bit cool or more intellectual than heartfelt, Saturday will change that. At 6:19 PM EST, Venus enters the soft, compassionate, and deeply sensitive sign of Pisces, where she will remain until March 6th. This is a great time for romance, although not great for starting relationships as you may not get a realistic view of the person in question.

A square aspect from the quirky Aquarius Sun to Jupiter in Scorpio at 6:20 PM EST should serve to alert you to pay attention to your tendency to overextend yourself.

Remember, that self-care is paramount and overextending yourself to please others will not serve you. A cycle of expansion that began in late October 2017 requires attention now. What action can you take to support what began then? Take action to increase your understanding and belief of who you are in this world, on this planet, in this universe. Send unconditional love to all.

If you were hoping for an exciting Saturday night, you may want to reassess your expectations. The Moon enters serious, levelheaded, determined Capricorn at 9:21 PM EST. Saturday evening will be a good time to engage in conversations regarding the serious structures and foundations you want to build to support your plans for the future.

The Sagittarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 11:38 AM EST until she enters Capricorn at 9:21 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

SOLITARY ACCOMPLISHMENT

Sunday, February 11, 2018:

Sunday brings us to quiet but serious day. At 9:17 AM EST, the hard-working Capricorn Moon joins with Saturn (the planet that rules Capricorn).

This is not a day to laze around the house to watch movies or read novels, it is not a day to go out and have boisterous fun with friends. This is a day to engage in a project that will leave you feeling accomplished at the end of the day.

Is there a house project you have been putting off? Is there something you want to build for future use? You will enjoy the project best if it is a solitary endeavor, not a shared experience. Spend time alone.

At the end of the day, look at what you have accomplished and give yourself a pat on the back before ending the week.

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transits between the planets.

“There is no measuring with time, no year matters, and 10 years are nothing. Being an artist means, not reckoning and counting, but ripening like the tree which does not force it sap and stands confident in the storms of spring without the fear that after them may come no summer. It does come. But it comes only to the patient, who are there as though eternity lay before them, so unconcernedly still and wide. I learn it daily, learn it with pain to which I am grateful: patience is everything!”    ~ Rainer Maria Rilke

QUESTION INTEGRITY & TRUST

Monday, October 9, 2017:

I don’t want to mince words regarding the challenges you may face as this week begins. With the Moon in chatty, light hearted Gemini, we will want to keep issues smooth and manageable. The truth is that we don’t really have that option. It will be of more benefit to look directly into the eye of any darkness in your life. Where are you questioning issues of trust and safety?

Yes, we can look at this as it applies to our personal lives, but do understand, that this is readily reflected in the culture and the world at large. In early January of 2017, when the Sun joined with Pluto, we began a cycle of deep, powerful transformation. These two planets are now at the 3rd Quarter Square aspect, and it is time to begin a process of letting go to prepare for an even deeper process in the coming year.

Pluto relates to what is powerful and hidden. It certainly makes one wonder what is going on behind closed doors in Washington. Keep an eye on the news.

On a personal level, it is important to make sure you are squeaky clean in any and all matters of honesty and integrity.  Don’t cut corners or give yourself a pass.

If you feel edgy and distrustful toward others, please look internally at your own level of virtue and forthrightness as well.

Monday begins with thought provoking Mercury forming a challenging square to dark Pluto and ends with the Libra Sun squaring powerful Pluto. Bookended in between is a square aspect from the Gemini Moon to foggy Neptune which simply suggests that you would rather keep your head in the sand than look at what is squarely “in your face”.

Honor the struggle that those in your world are encountering. Take the extra step to show up with kindness and courage in all circumstances.

JUPITER ENTERS SCORPIO – EXPANDING PASSION

Tuesday, October 10, 2017:

Pluto continues to play an important role on Tuesday as we assimilate and manage the deeper issues that have been brought to the table in the past few days.

Significantly, at 9:20 AM EDT, Jupiter’s entrance into Scorpio (the sign that is ruled by Pluto) increases the Plutonian vibrations apparent in ourselves, in the culture, and on the world stage.

Jupiter spends approximately one year in each sign; her job is to expand and enlarge wherever she goes. Jupiter has been in cooperative, diplomatic, relationship oriented Libra since September 2016.  Now, as she enters Scorpio, the qualities of Scorpio will expand over the coming year. Scorpio teaches us to go deep, to look into the eye of darkness, to destroy what is not working in order for full transformation to occur.

Consider what house holds 0 degrees Scorpio in your own chart to understand where expansion and transformation are building in your life during this time.

The Moon continues through Gemini on Tuesday, forming difficult aspects to assertive Mars, serious Saturn, and beautiful Venus throughout the day. It may be difficult, challenging, and uncomfortable to say the things you would like to say. You may choose to hold your tongue.

However, at 6:25 PM EDT, when the Moon forms a sextile to Uranus you may experience not only relief but a surprising lightness.

Encourage the relief you find, go out with a friend, lighten up, and have some laughs. Offer to share what lightness you find with others. We all need it.

The Gemini Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 6:25 PM EDT until she enters Cancer at 11:39 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

OFFER COMFORT AND PRACTICAL SUPPORT

Wednesday, October 11, 2017:

When you wake up on Wednesday morning, the Moon will have entered Cancer while you slept. The Moon rules Cancer, making this a day to settle into your emotions; seek and provide comfort. Cook for yourself and feed your friends to show love and warmth. The past few days have been deeply challenging and comfort is one thing you can offer and receive to stabilize emotions.

At 9:37 AM EDT, aggressive Mars form a challenging square aspect to restrictive Saturn. This is a clear signal to slow down and resist the temptation to beat your head against the wall. You may experience frustration and aggravation as you feel that the whole world is against you. Stabilize yourself, stay steady; go for a walk, breathe into the places that feel stuck. Release what no longer works, take responsibility for each step you take.

And again, offer kindness, support, and a practical helping hand.

SELF CARE – REJUVENATION

Thursday, October 12, 2017:

Thursday will bring an easier day of self-care and release. With the Moon in Cancer, forming a square to the Sun in Libra, this brings us to the Third Quarter Moon phase. At this phase, you need to notice what areas of your life are not working and need to be adjusted or released. What concerns have become habitual but are no longer relevant? Let them go!

Pay attention to your own needs and consider where you may be unnecessarily allowing the needs of others to overshadow your own.

Very late in the day, thoughtful Mercury sextile serious, stable Saturn, settling you into a quieter acceptance of where you find yourself. Self-care is an important part of this day. Take a bath, enjoy comfort food, put clean soft sheets on the bed, and climb in early. Rejuvenate.

OPEN-HEARTED CREATIVITY & LOVE

Friday, October 13, 2017:

By the time you wake up on Friday, the Moon has entered Leo. If you have been reading my posts for long, you know how much I love to see a weekend with a Leo Moon high in the sky! If it is a clear night, go out and look up and feel the sense of creativity and dramatic expression. The energy that Leo brings is fiery, generous, and expressive. I’ve had folks complain that I paint Leo with colors that are too bright and happy. Perhaps, but the way I see it, Leo is ruled by the Sun and the Sun provides not only light and warmth but life itself.

Yes, like all the signs, Leo has a down side. Leo can be arrogant, pompous, and loud. However, Leo’s greatest gift is that of generosity and open-hearted love. When Leo is powerfully present, we know how to play and show the best of who we are through authentic self-expression. I’ll take that positive side of Leo for this weekend. I hope you do too.

Before you go to sleep on Friday night, set your alarm clock for early Saturday morning! Saturday is too good to day to miss a moment. Be sure you are up, with coffee and a plan for the day, before 7:30 AM EDT!

The Cancer Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from midnight until 2:41 AM EDT. By the time you wake up Friday morning, the Moon will be in Leo. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

PLEASURE AND BEAUTY

Saturday, October 14, 2017:

Make sure you are up, out of bed, with coffee in hand, and a plan for the day before 7:30 AM EDT! This is a lovely day. The sooner you get it started, the better the results!

At 6:11 AM EDT, Venus leaves fussy, detail oriented Virgo behind to enter the cool, delightful pleasures of charming Libra. Venus, as Libra’s natural ruler, is delighted to find herself joining the Sun and Mercury already in this social, diplomatic sign of Libra. Almost anything you choose to do today should go well, plans for socializing are particularly highlighted.

At 4:43 PM EDT, the expressive, playful Leo Moon forms a sextile aspect to the Sun and, later in the evening, she forms a flowing trine aspect to steadfast, stabilizing Saturn. Release your concerns, allow yourself to enjoy what presents itself. Look for and create beauty and love in everything you do on this lovely autumn day.

WILD EPIPHANIES

Sunday, October 15, 2017:

When you wake up on Sunday morning, you may notice an intellectual buzz and excitement pushing you toward unconventional understandings! Mercury opposed Uranus while we slept and the energy of it will stay with us throughout the day. This is an awesome day to study astrology and receive epiphanies galore!

At 7:19 AM, the Moon enters Virgo, bringing our attention to the details that support these wild flights of mind and understanding.

I am so excited that my students will be gathering in northern Vermont for a retreat this weekend. We will all learn so much under this transit! Contact me if you are ready to start a serious study of astrology. Next October, you can join us for this annual retreat! Are you ready to give yourself such a gift of learning?

The Leo Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 1:28 AM EDT until she enters Virgo at 7:19 AM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: June 19, 2017 through June 25, 2017

Happy Summer Solstice!

The sensitive season of Cancer is here! By the time you wake up Wednesday morning, the inquisitive, restless energy of Gemini will have been left behind as our attention turns to the domestic, nurturing sensitivity of Cancer.

On Friday, the Sun and Moon join together at 2° Cancer, for the New Moon at 10:30 PM EDT. Prepare to settle into a slower pace with a focus on loving, affectionate connections.

You may find that you and others around you are responding with moodiness and defensiveness. Use this as an excuse to express more tender understanding and love.

HEALING TENDER VULNERABILITIES

Monday, June 19, 2017:

Monday morning, you awake with plenty of ‘get-up and go’! You will want to move forward and get things done without wasting time.

The Aries Moon is highly energized, particularly in the mid-afternoon hours, when she connects with unsettling, unconventional Uranus.

However, the most significant astrological event on Monday is a square aspect being formed from the Gemini Sun to Chiron. Think back to mid-March, do you remember an experience of having an extremely tender and vulnerable part of yourself exposed in some way? That was the beginning of the cycle that now asks you to pay attention to that vulnerability. There is healing work to be done.

Look clearly and fully accept the soft spot behind the vulnerability of Chiron. Seek out those friends and loved ones who truly understand and support your deepest personal burdens. Don’t shy away from your most tender spots and be a safe person for others to explore theirs. This is an opportunity for healing.

At 5:53 PM EDT, the Moon enters Taurus, offering an evening of indulging your senses. Spend the evening in nature; enjoy good food and loving touch.

The Aries Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 3:43 PM EDT until she enters Taurus at 5:53 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

ROMANCE AND INSPIRATION

Tuesday, June 20, 2017:

Tuesday’s Taurus Moon would love nothing more than a laid-back day of indulging the senses. However, that is not what the day is going to call fourth.

At 4:25 AM EDT, Venus, the planet of love, forms a sextile to Neptune, the planet of elusive dreaminess. This suggests the possibility of soft, romantic connections. Don’t go all in or fall head over heels, as whenever Neptune is involved, things may be other than they seem.

Just when you think you can enjoy that softness and the Taurus Moon would love to join you there, Mercury, the planet of our thinking, gets into the fray with a sextile aspect to unconventional Uranus. This may create agitation or inspiration.

Keep your eyes open on Tuesday for unusual thoughts and ideas. Perhaps, you will meet someone or encounter a new idea that threatens to upset the conventional structure of your thinking. Go ahead and jump at the opportunity to expand the directions of your mind.

Remember, this is the last day with the Sun in versatile Gemini, enjoy the chatter and the quickly moving mind. The Summer Solstice is upon us and will bring us to a more settled place!

JUNE SOLSTICE – SUMMER IN THE NORTHERN HEMISPHERE; WINTER IN THE SOUTHERN HEMISPHERE

The Aquaduct by Paul Cezanne via Wiki Commons

Wednesday, June 21, 2017:

June’s Solstice is exact at 12:24 AM EDT. The June solstice is the Summer Solstice, the longest day of the year, in the Northern Hemisphere. It is the Winter Solstice, the shortest day of the year, in the Southern Hemisphere. The date varies between June 20th and June 22nd, depending on the year and the local time zone.

As the wheel of the seasons turns, our attention follows and our thoughts turn toward family, sentiment, security, home, and the past. Here, we nurture what is closest to our hearts; our family and closest loved ones.

At 5:57 AM EDT, Mercury also enters Cancer. Don’t be surprised when your thinking aligns with your feelings and your feelings take over your thoughts. This is a good time to articulate your emotions.

At 10:14 AM EDT, Mercury catches up with the Sun, allowing powerful conversations to emerge; go ahead and express your emotions freely.

The Taurus Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from shortly after midnight (12:26 AM EDT) until she enters Gemini at 6:44 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

OPTIMISTIC CONVERSATIONS

Thursday, June 22, 2017:

Thursday should be an active day of optimistic conversations and busy interactions. You and those you encounter are likely feeling optimistic and inquisitive.

When the Gemini Moon forms a lovely, flowing trine aspect to idealistic Jupiter at 4:05 PM EDT, your conversations will take on an expansive, philosophical tone. With lucky Jupiter in relationship-oriented Libra, these interactions will naturally drift toward cooperation, kindness, and talk of intimate relationships.

When the Moon forms a challenging square to elusive Neptune at 5:18 PM EDT, you may notice a lack of clarity or confusion clouding your understanding of the situation. As this is a quickly moving Moon transit, allow it to pass, it will not last long.

Your best bet is to open yourself to a softer way of viewing the connection, reach for compassion, and allow any stress to simply dissolve into dreamy sensitivity.

CHANGE THIS

Friday, June 23, 2017:

Friday starts off a bit cranky as the restless Gemini Moon opposes serious, restrictive Saturn at 8:30 AM EDT. Focus on dealing with practical work related issues. If possible, avoid difficult conversations or interactions with people who have authority over you. If you must engage on that level, open to the learning without resistance; a bit of humility in dealing with others may be helpful.

At 2:46 PM EDT, when the Moon forms a lovely sextile aspect to Uranus, a lighter, more exciting afternoon can be anticipated.

At 6:06 PM EDT, the Moon enters emotionally intuitive Cancer and prepares for the beginning of a new lunar cycle. The Cancer New Moon is exact at 10:30 PM EDT at 2° Cancer. Now, you will want to plant a seed of maternal, tender, family- oriented love.

Wait and perform your New Moon ritual on Saturday or Sunday.

For your Cancer New Moon ritual, set an intention regarding family, nurturing, and emotional sensitivity. This is the perfect time to start a conversation about the family you want to create, an ideal vision of your domestic life, and how you show love to others. Perhaps, you can arrange the time and space to begin to more deeply understand your needs to give and receive tenderness and caring.

If you know what house in your birth chart holds 2° Cancer, it will help you clarify where to direct your emotions and protective instincts. If you don’t have that information, simply go with your intuition regarding the area of life that is calling for inward, soft attention.

Please don’t neglect this New Moon ritual. Keep it simple, take a moment to write down what loving, domestic changes you wish to begin, create, or increase in this upcoming cycle.

Have two candles available for the ritual; light the first candle to represent yourself, just as you are in this moment. Light the second candle as an aspiration of what you intend to create. Each day, take a moment to focus on yourself as you light the first candle, when you light the second candle, focus on drawing to you what you are choosing to create as you bring the two candles closer together. Do this each day and at the Full Moon in two weeks, you will bring them fully together and acknowledge the result of what you have created.

The Cancer New Moon suggests that you plant a seed of kind sensitivity, sympathy, warmth, and family connections. Share this ritual with your friends and loved ones.

The Gemini Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 2:46 PM EDT until she enters Cancer at 6:06 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

PROFOUND LOVE & BEAUTY

Saturday, June 24, 2017:

Saturday brings with it the potential to truly transform LOVE as it is experienced in your life. Empowerment flows to you through personal values, your resources, and those for whom you hold profound love. This cycle of deepening and transforming love began in late November of 2016 with the start of this Venus and Pluto cycle. Consider the seed you planted for relationship and connection at that time; feel the direct experience as it has unfolded and the impact it has upon your life now.

With the Moon in protective, caring Cancer throughout the day, the love that is impacted will likely be of the familial type. Are you ready to acknowledge that the love you are creating is domestically inclined? Do you feel the need to nurture and care for another? Do you need to give yourself that type of tender care or allow yourself to receive it from others? This is not the love of passionate new lovers but the love of family and life-long connection.

If you are alone on Saturday, take this energy and create something beautiful; any expressions of beauty will be empowered!

BREATHE STEADY

Sunday, June 25, 2017:

Sleep late on Sunday morning, if possible, and as you begin the day, breathe steadily and carefully observe your reactions.

In the early morning hours, aggressive Mars formed a challenging square aspect to philosophical Jupiter. You know that you cannot expect others to have the same beliefs that you hold. Therefore, there is no need for an overblown reaction when they do not. If everyone involved can maintain respect for each other, this can be a great morning for debate and heated yet friendly discussion. Pay attention, and shift the direction or get out of the way if it gets too heated.

With the emotional Moon still in sensitive Cancer (for most of the day), these issues will likely play out in family dynamics. When the moody Cancer Moon forms a challenging square aspect to unconventional Uranus at 2:44 PM EDT, we may feel somewhat unsettled and defiant towards certain family members. Don’t play into this agitation; pay attention to your level of understanding and release expectations.

At 6:07 PM EDT, the Moon dances into playful Leo where she will uplift our mood for the next few days. Enjoy the evening with dance, play, and creativity.

The Cancer Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 2:44 PM EDT until she enters Leo at 6:07 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.
