“There is no measuring with time, no year matters, and 10 years are nothing. Being an artist means, not reckoning and counting, but ripening like the tree which does not force it sap and stands confident in the storms of Spring without the fear that after them may come no Summer. It does come. But it comes only to the patient, who are there as though eternity lay before them, so unconcernedly still and wide. I learn it daily, learn it with pain to which I am grateful: patience is everything!”

CONSTRUCTIVE ACTION

Monday, January 22, 2018:

If you head outside in the wee hours of the morning, you will see Mars and Jupiter at the highest point of the ecliptic, still moving through the deeply intense sign of Scorpio. Jupiter’s expansive nature has been opening doors and windows on dark and hidden issues; secrets have been and continue to be exposed. Mars has brought anger and the demand for change in the area of these hidden issues.

Allow yourself the vulnerability to expose the truth of what you have hidden; turn your anger and rage into constructive action. Major change is possible. Put your shoulder to the grindstone.

The Moon entered Aries as the day began, providing much incentive to push forward on a direct, forceful path.

USING YOUR VOICE

Tuesday, January 23, 2018:

Head outside again (I know it is unlikely… but some of you might!) in the wee hours of the morning before the Sun rises. The pre-dawn sky holds a story. Between 5:50 AM EST and 6:50 AM EST, authoritative Saturn, communicative Mercury, and empowered, often times destructive, Pluto, are seen rising in the east before the illumination of the Sun moves into view at sunrise (7:28 AM EST).

With the Sun in Aquarius, it is the only one of these four planets that is not in heavy, restrictive, duty-bound Capricorn. What does this mean to you? Individually? Culturally? How do you see this reflected?  Think about this simply.

I suspect that most of you are working very hard to bring a powerful change to your lives (and the lives of others) by using your voice with self-respect, determination, and integrity.

On the heels of all the work this week brings, the quirky, brilliance of the Aquarian Sun offers relief and intellectual awakening. Watch the Sun as it shows itself over the horizon.

Consider all the powerful, even revolutionary change possible as you awaken and do the work necessary to bring your message to those who need your voice.

The Aries Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) after 11:15 PM, she will enter Taurus at 8:40 AM EST on Wednesday. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

LISTEN – SPEAK TRUTH

Wednesday, January 24, 2018:

Wednesday’s pre-dawn horizon continues to be dominated by Saturn, Mercury, and Pluto showing themselves rising in the East shortly before the wild Aquarian Sun. Serious conversations regarding business and government continue to precede change.

The Love BIrds by Scooby13 via Wiki Media

At 8:40 AM EST, the Moon, settling down after her assertive stretch through Aries, enters stabilizing and comfort-seeking Taurus.

Wednesday afternoon sees Mercury coming into full contact with Pluto. Those serious talks that have been right on the tip of your tongue (or hidden below the surface) are now ready to come forward to shift the very ground you stand on.

Powerful conversations are likely to change the ‘lay of the land’. You may hear things you didn’t expect to hear, you may say things you have wanted to say but weren’t prepared for the results. Now, the time is right.

You likely have very little idea of how the words spoken now will change things but a seed is planted that will grow over the coming months. Much is brewing beneath the surface, Pluto’s work is done in darkness. Pay attention to conversations; listen between the lines.

At 5:21 PM EST, the Taurus Moon forms a stressful square aspect to the Aquarian Sun, pushing you to choose between comfort and necessary, revolutionary change. You have a better idea of what must be done than you may admit to yourself. Get clear.

The Aries Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) until she enters Taurus at 8:40 AM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

CREATE BEAUTY AND COMFORT

Thursday, January 25, 2018:

Thursday begins with a lovely sextile aspect from mental Mercury to expansive Jupiter. You are able to see the advantages and the growth possible from whatever conversations have been occurring over the last few days. Whatever that needs to be said or exposed to bring further clarity, comes more easily and creates less stress.

The Moon continues through steadfast, loyal, sensual Taurus. She makes lovely aspects throughout the day to dreamy Neptune, powerful Pluto, and talkative Mercury.

I suspect that your life will take on a slower, more optimistic tone as you focus on sensual pleasures of love and beauty. Whenever the Moon is in Taurus or Libra, (both are ruled by Venus), make the bed, put flowers on the bedside and make space for love, beauty, and sensuality in your life.

The Taurus Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) after 10:17 PM EST. She will enter Gemini at 12:40 PM EST on Friday. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

CONSIDER ADVENTURE AND TRAVEL

Friday, January 26, 2018:

Since early December, Mars has been playing with Jupiter in Sagittarius which is the sign that Jupiter rules. There has been much activity and anger around revelations of dark Scorpionic secrets in the culture and perhaps, in your community, family, or personal life.

At 7:56 AM EST, Mars, the planet of assertion and direct action, enters Sagittarius and begins to assimilate the lessons of the issues that have been revealed. It is time to envision the growth that’s possible and your path forward. Mars will remain in expansive, light-hearted Sagittarius until he enters Capricorn on March 17, 2018.

While Mars is in Sagittarius, you will want to take direct action in-service of your highest ideals. You will also have less tolerance to feeling confined or restricted in any area of your life. This is a great time to seek out adventure, travel, learn about another culture or a new way of thinking.

At 12:40 PM EST, the Moon leaves the sensual sign of Taurus behind and enters curious, information-gathering Gemini. This will be a good weekend for gathering with friends for light conversation and word games.

If you notice yourself aggravated or someone seems cranky in the early afternoon, let it roll off your back. The Moon opposes Mars at 12:53 PM EST. It will pass quickly. Make plans with friends in the evening.

The Taurus Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) until she enters Gemini at 12:40 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

MENTAL ENGAGEMENT NEEDED

Saturday, January 27, 2018:

You can expect a day of mental activity on Saturday. You will be curious about others, you don’t want to sit still but want to move quickly and experience variety in all things. This is the way of Gemini.

This is not the weekend to sit languidly on the couch, go to a movie or spend time at a meditation retreat. You will be much happier chatting with new friends, reading, something relatively light, teaching, learning, and gathering information about a variety of topics.

Keep active or you will find yourself restless and skittish. You may notice that you have a shorter than usual attention span. If you encounter restlessness in others, you may be impatient as well. Use humor to defuse any challenging situations.

As evening approaches, you may notice excitement tor mental anxiety. In the wee hours of Sunday morning, Mercury forms a challenging square aspect to unsettling, inspirational Uranus. Open your mind and allow unusual ideas, epiphanies, and shifting understandings of your world. Don’t hold too tightly to an opinion, belief, or idea. Thoughts, beliefs, and ideas can change on a dime.

Basically, this is a light-hearted day that requires quick movement and mental engagement. Enjoy as you think outside the box.

DISMANTLING OLD BELIEFS

Sunday, January 28, 2018:

If you think about the planets as teachers, consider Mercury as the trickster who moves quickly, talks quickly, and wants to chat-up all the students. Uranus is the unconventional teacher, a bit of a rebel offering insights that surprise or shock its students. In May of 2017, these two joined together to begin a cycle or to teach a class of unusual ideas and a new way of thinking. The next time they come together will be in May of 2018. This is a one year cycle.

With a challenging square aspect between them occurring on Sunday, look back to what you were thinking or learning in May 2017. The line of thinking or communication that you began then now needs to be dismantled in order to begin a new conversation or thinking pattern this May. Don’t worry you have between now and May to engage in the process of dismantling.

An upset may occur to push you to release that thinking, you may meet someone who shakes up your thoughts or you may just have wild epiphanies. Allow yourself to begin the process of release.

At 1:57 PM EST, the Moon winds down, moving into Cancer and hoping to sit close to loved ones and relax with a good meal and loving connections.

With Venus and the Sun entering innovative Aquarius this week, you can expect the movement of new ideas and big changes. Over the coming month, you can anticipate unexpected and surprising shifts to the ground beneath your feet. Your perspective and, of course, your personal chart can create excitement or stress. If you experience stress, hold your head high and look for the silver lining, it is right there.

RELEASE WORN OUT BELIEFS

Monday, January 15, 2018:

We are currently in the darkest phase of the Moon, the Balsamic phase. The Moon is joining forces in the most conservative, serious sign of Capricorn, with the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Saturn, and Pluto. This is quite a pile-up of energy in this prudent, mature sign.

The Balsamic phase of the Moon is a time of inward contemplation, a time to seriously consider your ambitions and your path ahead. Things are about to lighten up somewhat in the coming days with the quicker moving planets preparing to leave serious Capricorn behind and move toward new innovations. Both Venus and the Sun will enter Aquarius this week.

With a closing sextile aspect between Jupiter and Pluto, you may have an opportunity to release some dark influences that began at the end of 2007 with the conjunction between those planets. Ponder how your beliefs impact your deepest understanding of life.

Allow this new energy to move you in a new direction. Begin to release the tight hold that worn out belief systems have on you. Allow yourself to see the world and your place in it in a new way. Hold this message throughout the week.

CAPRICORN NEW MOON – AMBITIOUS ENDEAVORS

Tuesday, January 16, 2018:

The Moon continues through persistent, cautious Capricorn throughout the day. Focus on serious consideration of your most ambitious plans for the months ahead.

The Capricorn New Moon occurs at 9:18 PM EST. This is when the Sun and Moon join together, currently at 27° Capricorn. It will aid you to wait and perform your rituals on Wednesday. Remember, never attempt these observances ahead of the exact time of the New Moon. They are best done on the day following the New Moon.

I will post instructions for a simple New Moon ritual on Wednesday. Serious contemplation will bring you to an understanding of the focus of growth you want to begin in the upcoming phase.

With a challenging square aspect from the conservative Capricorn Moon to innovative, wild Uranus at 4:45 PM EST, you may find yourself wanting to move forward but feeling held back by some restrictive outside or inner force. You want to take that step but are held back for a bit longer. Continue your contemplation and serious planning.

Keep Monday’s message of releasing worn-out beliefs in mind. Release must happen before you can move ahead.

THE NEW MOON RITUAL & MORE

Wednesday, January 17, 2018:

One in Four by Jonnyh31 via Wiki Media

The Capricorn New Moon was exact on Tuesday. However, it is best to do your New Moon ritual on Wednesday, after the Moon has moved away from the ‘beams of the Sun’. The growth of the seed you plant will be supported by the wait.

Keep your ritual simple. Take a moment to write down the changes you wish to begin, create, or increase in the upcoming Moon Cycle. With this New Moon occurring in Capricorn, the intention you set will be ambitious, business related, requiring hard work, and sustained effort.

If you know what house in your birth chart holds Capricorn, it will help you clarify where this effort is needed. For example, if Capricorn rules (is on the cusp of) your 1st house, set an intention for serious effort regarding how you present your personality or in the 4th house, set an intention to bring serious effort to your family relationships or your home environment. If Capricorn is in the 7th house, perhaps you need to make a significant commitment to a partner or in the 10th house, you may need to put your nose to the grindstone and focus on ambitious growth of your business.

If you don’t know what house is involved, simply go with your intuition regarding the area of life that requires maturity, focus, and hard work or make an appointment for a consultation. Contact me.

~~ Onto the Ritual ~~

Have two candles available; light a candle to represent yourself, as you are in the moment. Light another candle as an aspiration of what you intend to create. Each day, take a moment to focus on yourself as you light the first candle, then light the second candle, focusing on drawing to you what you want to create, bringing the two candles closer together. Do this each day until at the Full Moon, you will bring them fully together and acknowledge the result of what you have created.

The Capricorn New Moon suggests that you plant a seed of maturity, facing reality, growth through hard work, and stability.

On Wednesday, Venus and the Moon enter Aquarius, lightning up your mood and bringing you out of the dark as you enter a significant growth cycle. The energy of Aquarius encourages us to look at innovative and unusual solutions to long range issues of the human condition. This is an excellent time to look at where you can make a difference in the challenge of being a human on this planet in these times. What can you do to support the growth of awareness in the world? How can you help on a humanitarian level? Look outside of yourself and find a way.

In the wee hours of Wednesday morning, the Capricorn Moon is VOC* from 1:30 AM EST until she enters Aquarius at 3:32 AM EST. By the time you wake up, the Moon will be in Aquarius.

MOVE BEYOND “PREACHING TO THE CHOIR”

Thursday, January 18, 2018:

With both Venus and the Moon now in rebellious Aquarius, take the time to consider the areas of life where you are resistant to the pressures of social conventions.

Remember, that while the Moon is a passing concern (remaining in each sign for only a few days) Venus, on the other hand, will remain in objective Aquarius until February 10th. Venus represents values, the ability to create relationships, and the ways that we choose to use our money and resources. Consider where your values are outside, and perhaps, beyond the beliefs and values that the majority of your culture holds.

This is a good time to look at how your beliefs fit into the wider world around you and how you support what you believe. What can you do to bring a more progressive perspective to others? It is far too easy to seclude yourself within your own social circles. This results in your voice being weakened by simply “preaching to the choir.”

Take the time to truly and deeply listen to those who think differently than you. Take the time to understand. Learn to express your ideas in a way that others, even those who think much differently than you, may be able to hear. You may feel ‘out of step’ but you can continue to speak your truth with kindness, honesty, and open-hearted acceptance of the true beliefs of others.

It is a valuable skill to learn to listen without judgment. Aquarius allows you to focus on the importance of your task even as you are able to set your emotions aside, moving you in the direction of a less conventional future.

SUN ENTERS AQUARIUS – EXPANDING INNOVATION

Friday, January 19, 2018:

Early Friday may bring us some challenging aggravation as the detached Aquarius Moon forms a stressful square aspect to assertive Mars, who has little patience while in Scorpio. Don’t engage in difficult struggles with family over the breakfast table. Allow agitation and anger to roll off your back.

At 3:27 PM EST, the Moon enters soft-spoken, mystical Pisces, softening your emotional reactions.

At 8:07 PM EST, Mercury forms a sweet sextile to mystical Neptune. You may be tempted to look for an escape route this evening as you are simply tired of dealing with the harshness of reality. Go for the healthy escapes such as poetry, music, or meditation; an extra glass of champagne or wine is fine as well. Choose, perhaps, a movie to dream the evening away.

At 10:09 PM EST, the all-powerful Sun enters Aquarius, beginning a month long experience of expanding your understanding of humanitarian issues. The Sun in Aquarius comes at the coldest time of the year here in the Northern Hemisphere. With the cold, we go inward as our minds move into unexpected areas that bring us forward to new innovations in order to support the growth of humanity. Watch how your thoughts open to new ideas and the connection with folks of differing viewpoints.

The Aquarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 6:52 AM EST until she enters Pisces at 3:27 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

COMPASSION, ACCEPTANCE, LOVE

Saturday, January 20, 2018:

Saturday will usher you into a weekend of gentle connections. The Moon remains in fanciful Pisces throughout the weekend, blurring the boundaries between you and others. You may notice yourself feeling more compassionate and forgiving. You may also notice yourself experiencing deep sadness as you are easily overwhelmed by the pain and suffering you see in others.

Take time this weekend to daydream and enjoy any healthy means of escape from the harsh realities of your life. Go ahead and enjoy an extra glass of wine and a good film. Allow yourself to dream, listen to music that sweeps you to another land or best idea yet: meditate.

At 6:21 PM EST, the Moon forms a supportive sextile to Mercury, encouraging you to speak words of compassion, acceptance, and love.

MEDITATE. PRAY. LOVE.

Sunday, January 21, 2018:

Another day with the Moon forming pleasant aspects to other planets, as she moves though inspired, gentle Pisces. You can easily connect with feelings of unconditional love and kindness as your heart and imagination open easily into areas of transcendent, mystical sensitivity.

You are able to feel the connections between yourself and others as the boundaries between you and others seem to simply dissolve. Allow this sensitivity and take steps to give of yourself to those who need your love and support. You are able to understand that what you give supports all of humankind, yourself included.

Solitary pursuits support your connection to divinity. Spend time in or on the water, at a beach or river, or simply take a long, hot bath. Take time to daydream, spend time in silent contemplation, and find your way back to your own center. You are susceptible to very subtle energies so make sure you are spending time with people who uplift you.

The Pisces Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 8:13 PM EST until she enters Aries on Monday morning at 1:28 AM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

2018 is bringing great change, possible growth, and focus on some area of your life. Prepare to make the most of these powerful shifting winds with a consultation with Laurie at Astrolore!

Set up your appointment today.

The night sky is very quiet right now with Jupiter and Mars coming over the horizon in the early morning hours. Venus is currently situated directly on the other side of the Sun from Earth. She will slowly edge away from the Sun’s glare over the coming weeks. By late February, she will begin her brilliant evening display which will last through September of 2018.

INTEGRITY PAVES THE WAY

Monday, January 8, 2018:

Monday brings us into a powerhouse of a week as Venus, the planet of love and beauty, joins with the Sun in its Superior Conjunction, when it is on the other side of the Sun. This aspect becomes fully expressed early Tuesday.

The Sun and Venus join with Pluto early on Tuesday as well, impacting the early part of the week powerfully.

Along with the deep and empowered conversation, these three planets are having, the Sun and Venus each form a supportive sextile aspect to expansive Jupiter.

Venus and the Sun, later in the week, also sextile with assertive Mars as Mars and Jupiter travel together through the deep waters of Scorpio.

There is a powerful opportunity here for the serious empowerment of love and of the feminine to break down the overblown patriarchal connection to negative sexuality, violence, and unhealthy aggression.

While in Saturn, the Sun, Venus, and Pluto are all in Saturn’s domicile of Capricorn, prepare to watch how integrity is rewarded and lack of integrity receives its comeuppance.

This is the year that we each must tell the truth and receive the supportive gifts or wrath of the Universe.

You may experience a sense of great relief along with these three sextiles on Monday morning. Consider how the sextile of the Sun and Venus to Jupiter turns your attention toward what brings meaning to your life and asks you to seek out others who share your passions and your goals.

Another sextile is formed between Mars and Pluto offering assistance as you commit yourself to the direction of those passions and goals.

There will likely be some stress in the evening as the Libra Moon, wanting to make everyone happy, encounters others who may not want to support the agenda. Relax and allow the more powerful conversations of the day to hold the space for powerful movement.

LOVE PAVES THE WAY

Tuesday, January 9, 2018:

The significant conjunction between the Sun, Venus, and Pluto is exact in the early hours of Tuesday morning. This brings powerful development as love and the feminine break down elements of negative masculinity, the misuse of sexuality, and violence.

In the coming months with Saturn, the Sun, Venus, and Pluto all in Saturn’s domicile of Capricorn, integrity must overtake control and greed. We must each do our part to uphold our love for the Universe and each other.

The Moon lingers in diplomatic Libra until mid-afternoon, forming a gently agreeable sextile to Mercury at 11:13 AM EST. This allows for engagement in conversations that encourage understanding and connection.

At 3:06 PM EST, the Moon leaves agreeable Libra behind and enters passionate Scorpio, closely followed by Venus sextile Mars at 4:07 PM EST. The conversations suggested for Tuesday afternoon may lead to romance or at the very least a purposeful and passionate connection. A pleasantly assertive Sun sextile Mars shortly after midnight,t heightens the possibility of romance.

The Libra Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 11:13 AM EST until she enters Scorpio at 3:06 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

REST IN FLOW

Wednesday, January 10, 2018:

Following the intensity of Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday offers a day to rest and allow yourself to daydream and reflect.

Sunset at Christmas Eve, Honolulu, Hawaii woodblock print by Arman Manookian via Wiki Media

At 2:40 PM EST, the Scorpio Moon forms a flowing trine aspect to dreamy, sensitive Neptune.

Allow yourself to get lost in daydreaming, watch a film, engage in whatever activity brings you to a place of ‘flow’; spend time in meditation, listen to soothing music, or create something that comes from your deepest sense of mystical oneness.

Thursday will remove your access to easy mental flow as Mercury entering Capricorn, where it will remain until January 31st, brings your mind to the stern edge of reality. Integrity remains in the limelight for each of us and the culture at large.

THOUGHTS DEEPEN

Thursday, January 11, 2018:

I hope you were able to enjoy the sense of flow that was available on Wednesday as it may be the last opportunity for such bliss, at least until Mercury enters Aquarius at the end of January.

As you begin the day, Mercury has joined Saturn, the Sun, Venus, and Pluto in cautious, serious Capricorn. This is a large pile-up in a very restrictive sign. If you know what house Capricorn holds in your chart, you will understand where the focus of hard work and increasing responsibility lies. This is the area of your life that came into focus in late December and will require ongoing attention and effort over the next few years. Make sure you are engaging in this area of your life with the highest integrity, maturity, and sustained effort. The reality of your situation will show where you need to deepen your attention and tell the truth about your commitment.

The Scorpio Moon forms a passionate conjunction with Mars at 7:35 AM EST. This will awaken you with strong energy to move forward. Shortly thereafter, she forms lovely sextile aspects to both the Sun and Venus, suggesting pleasant, intimate interactions with those you love. Take advantage, it should be a sweet morning leading into a quiet afternoon and evening.

The Scorpio Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 9:54 AM EST until she enters Sagittarius at 2:04 AM EST on Friday morning. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

EXPAND YOUR VIEW

Friday, January 12, 2018:

By the time you begin the day on Friday, the Moon is in idealistic, freedom-seeking Sagittarius. This suggests an emotional need for autonomy, physical space, and exploration. Sagittarius is an optimistic sign and brings relief after the intensity of the past few days with the Scorpio Moon. You are more apt to see the humor and lightness of your circumstances and are ready to explore a more expansive view of the world and those around you.

Although the day is likely to be relatively upbeat, by evening, you may feel Mercury’s connection to Saturn looming. Communications and conversations seem to highlight the differences between yourself and others. There are indeed serious issues to consider but try not to fall into the trap of pessimistic thinking.

Be aware of your own self-talk and how you speak to others. Offer open-hearted kindness and resist the temptation to judge them. Remember, you know only your own mind and your own life, there is no space to judge the lives of others. Seek out true compassion.

AUTONOMY AND FREEDOM

Saturday, January 13, 2018:

Your best bet this weekend is to spend time alone.

Saturday begins with a heightened awareness of how differently you think from those around you and conflict arises easily. You may feel pessimistic and easily frustrated or aggravated. This is reflected in the early-morning conjunction from Mercury to Saturn.

The day does not get easier from there. At 2:08 PM EST, Venus forms a troubling square aspect to Uranus putting you at odds with your loved ones. We will all need a sense of autonomy and freedom. Taking time for yourself is the smartest choice you can make.

It is unlikely that you and those you love will want to go in the same direction, so go ahead and go your separate ways. Allowing that to be okay and supporting each other in this choice will support each of you. There is no need to explain yourself. We all need time alone.

As Venus sextiles Chiron at 9:51 PM EST, any issues of abandonment that came from the separation are able to be healed. Connect deeply on Saturday night as you will again need time alone on Sunday.

RESTLESSNESS AND DISTANCE

Sunday, January 14, 2018:

If you assume that needing time alone was a one-off for Saturday, you’ll be in for a surprise when the same need shows up on Sunday thanks to a restless, unsettling square between the serious Capricorn Sun and detached eccentric Uranus.

The Moon enters Capricorn at 2:43 PM EST increasing a need for emotional distance. Again, give yourself and others lots of physical and emotional space. This would be a good day to work on individual, innovative projects that require long-term effort.

The Sagittarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 3:48 AM EST until she enters Capricorn at 2:43 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

THE MESSAGE IN YOUR DREAMS

Monday, January 30, 2017:

Monday morning eases us into the week with gentle compassion toward yourself and others. After a challenging weekend, these softer energies enable you to release anxiety or hurt feelings

At 6:18 AM EST, the dreamy Pisces Moon makes contact with elusive Neptune. You may want to bring your dreams into your day. Write down those dreams, there are bound to be messages contained within.

Late in the day, the Moon forms sextile aspects (suggesting opportunities and possibilities) to both powerful Pluto and thoughtful Mercury. This offers you the opportunity to present a powerful message in a manner that it can be heard and understood. Who do you need to communicate with? Who needs to hear what you have to say?

On Monday evening, you have the courage and clarity of mind to say what needs to be said.

UNSETTLED THINKING

Tuesday, January 31, 2017:

Tuesday is the last day of January bringing with it increased excitement or anxiety, depending on your perspective and how your personal horoscope is being impacted.  Enjoy the morning and its relative calm.

When the Moon enters forceful Aries at 4:46 PM EST, and then quickly comes into contact with dynamic Mars. You may see a side of aggression and anger that you would rather not encounter. Remain centered and seek courageous self-determination in any actions that you take.

Throughout the evening, you will feel a growing anxiety or excitement as thoughtful Mercury comes to square unsettling Uranus at 10:31 PM EST. Your thinking and your communications are inspired and defiant.

Watch for originality of thought and powerful epiphanies. Pay attention to your dreams on Tuesday night. Something significant could come through that will change your view of humanity and your place in this human family.

There may be something significant that you need to release at this time. Speak clearly and truthfully regardless of whom you may offend. Even as you do so, maintain kindness and respect. Understand that we all view the world from a distinctly different perspective.

The Pisces Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection)

From 12:36 PM EST until she enters Aries at 4:46 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

FINDING YOUR COMMUNITY

Wednesday, February 1, 2017:

The astrological weather for Wednesday feels light and friendly following on the heels of Tuesday’s intense communications and anxiety.

With the assertive Aries Moon forming a sextile aspect (offering possibilities or opportunities) to the objective Aquarian Sun at 3:51 PM EST, make it a point to join together with your community and friends.

Gather together to plan projects of humanitarian concerns or outright revolution! This is a quickly passing Moon transit; so don’t attach any insistence that these plans occur right away.

Enjoy your social connections and the possibility of a shared world-view. Knowing and connecting with your community will be more important in the future. There will be plenty of opportunities for implementing plans that begin now.

WATCH BOUNDARIES – EXPAND UNDERSTANDING

Thursday, February 2, 2017:

Don’t be surprised if you wake up Thursday morning in the midst of intensely dark, unsettling dreams. While you sleep on Wednesday night, the aggressive Aries Moon forms difficult aspects with both coercive Pluto and agitated Uranus.

At 8:53 AM EST, when the Aries Moon squares communicative Mercury, it is best to hold your tongue and allow the moment desire to say something you will regret to pass. There is no need to express outwardly any aggravation that enters your mind. Watch those tweets!

At 10:15 AM EST, mental Mercury forms a square (challenging) aspect with expansive Jupiter. Because this transit harkens back to several days after the election, be aware of what is being said in the political arena on Thursday.

Be aware of your words and communications. It may take cautious attention not to say too much to the wrong people or over-share. Do not assume that you are speaking to folks who see the world from your personal world-view.

Any exaggerations could have unexpected consequences in late March.

With all of that being said, if you are with like-minded people or people who are open-minded to your worldview, go ahead and speak your mind. Find the courage in like-minded community to share your perspectives and allow your worldview to expand.

Also, do not automatically agree to anything that is asked of you. It would be very easy to take on more than is appropriate at this time. Pay attention to your personal boundaries. Be aware of what you ask others for today as well. Do not ask for more than you can appropriately expect from others.

The Aries Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 11:51 AM EST until she enters Taurus at 8:50 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

PATIENCE AND STRENGTH

Friday, February 3, 2017:

Last Saturday (January 28), when Mars, the planet of strength, courage, anger, and initiative entered his home sign of Aries, I mentioned taking off the gloves. Mars in Aries looks for places to express aggression and assertiveness.

On Friday, at 10:51 AM EST, lovely Venus, the planet of pleasure, personal values, and diplomacy follows Mars into Aries. Now, she is ready to take off her gloves end join the battle Mars is waging.

As women and men with a feminist perspective, each one of us is now able to assert ourselves in matters that impact the lives of women and the more tender side of our hearts. We will stand up for what is right as it impacts women worldwide.

The First Quarter Moon occurs at 11:19 PM EST, encouraging us to take action on whatever we determined to begin at the New Moon last Friday evening.

At the First Quarter, the stabilizing Taurus Moon squares the eccentric Aquarius Sun. You may feel challenged to develop closeness and affection at the same time that you are dealing with feelings of emotional disconnection and the desire to pull away.

On Friday, you will have the opportunity to work on balancing attachment and autonomy. Be patient with each other.

FOOD, TOUCH, NATURE, LOVE

Saturday February 4, 2017:

Saturday offers a lovely day for earth-based activities. Spend the day outdoors, perusing your seed catalog for the coming spring, or cooking a delightful meal for friends and loved ones.

The Taurus Moon forms lovely aspects to both Pluto and Mercury. This is a day for shared communication and deep feelings. Set aside all the anxiety of the outside world. Pull yourself inward to enjoy nature and the natural world, get or give a massage.

Find reverence in the simple things of life: food, touch, nature, and love.

The Taurus Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 5:41 PM EST until she enters Gemini at 11:45 PM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

CURIOSITY AND COMMUNICATION

Sunday, February 5, 2017:

Sunday offers another great day for enjoying time with your friends and loved ones. However, the time you spend with friends will be very different from Saturday.

On Saturday, you were seeking bodily pleasures (food and touch) and calm stability (courtesy of Taurus).

Sunday, with the Moon now in talkative Gemini, you seek conversations, the expansion of your ideas, curiosity, and intellectual growth. The friends you want to spend time with on Sunday are probably a very different group than those you want to spend time with on Saturday. Seek out the people you can communicate with on an intellectual level, enjoying ideas and conversations.

As the evening approaches, take those friends with you to the cinema.  At 5:54 PM EST, the Gemini Moon forms a square aspect to elusive Neptune. Your imaginative nature comes alive and you will enjoy losing yourself in a poetry reading or a film.

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets.  I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods.  I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.

* The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
* The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

A THREAD OF POETRY

Monday, January 23, 2017:

The week begins with an optimistic Sagittarius Moon enlarging your perspective and enabling you to understand others and expand your own vision.

At 4:28 PM EST, Mercury (ruling our intellect, communications, and perception) sextile Neptune (showing up as our imagination, compassion, and sensitivity) makes it easy for you to understand the perspective of those you meet and to speak directly to that perspective. Make the effort to show compassion with your words. Speak with sensitivity. There is a thread of poetry within your mind on Monday.

When bedtime comes, your emotions may feel excited and possibly, conflicted. Sleep will not come easily if the conversations begun earlier in the day swept you into imaginative states far outside your previous boundaries.

Don’t allow delusional thinking to wash away practical reality.

STRENGTH AND CLARITY

Tuesday, January 24, 2017:

Tuesday morning may bring with it a sense of unease, discomfort, and irritability. At 5:39 AM EST, the expansive Sagittarius Moon makes contact with restrictive Saturn. Your desire to expand beyond your present constraints feels thwarted.

At 12:34 PM EST, the Moon squares argumentative Mars; you can almost feel the collective growl of frustration and anger.

When the Moon enters Capricorn at 5:44 PM EST, you are able to settle down and focus on reality and your responsibilities as you move forward.

All in all, this is not a comfortable day. If you are able to find the ability to stay engaged without anger or resentment, this day offers an opportunity to release the past and move forward from a place of strength and clarity.

The Sagittarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 12:34 PM EST until she interested half of corn at 5:44 PM EST.

Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

BRING PRACTICAL IDEAS TO THE TABLE

Wednesday, January 25, 2017:

Wednesday provides an interesting and workable day.  Before you wake up, Venus forms a conjunction with Chiron (the wounded healer), bringing beauty to the sore places within your soul. Beauty and grace sooth the deepest wounds. Remember, vulnerability holds great strength and moves us beyond understanding.

At 2:07 PM EST, the practical Capricorn Moon forms a sextile (showing up as an opportunity) to mystical Neptune encouraging us to understand that practical reality and mystical intuition support each other in ways that are not always obvious.

When the Capricorn Moon conjunct Mercury at 6:59 PM EST, the practicality of your thinking helps you to turn your ambition to your highest understanding of what is good and right in the world. Find areas where you can help others with your most practical ideas.

A SENSE OF ACCOMPLISHMENT

Thursday, January 26, 2017:

The disciplined Capricorn Moon encounters a series of challenging aspects on Thursday that will likely leave you feeling unsteady, anxious, and will have difficulty understanding your path forward.

Your best bet is to focus on your own ambitions, responsibilities, and necessary accomplishments. Follow your personal guidelines of integrity and, in all things, act with stable maturity.

It would be a mistake to look for fun, enjoyable endeavors on Thursday or to try to avoid work. Ending the day with a sense of accomplishment should be your goal from the start of the day.

At 3:05 PM EST, when the Moon forms a gentle sextile to lovely Venus you can anticipate easier energies to come into focus as long as you managed the morning without burning bridges or engaging in interpersonal difficulties.

Your goals for Thursday: Do not burn any bridges and end the day with a sense of accomplishment.

AQUARIUS NEW MOON – PLANT A SEED FOR THE FUTURE OF HUMANITY

Friday, January 27, 2017:

By the time you wake up on Friday morning, the Moon is in Aquarius. Generally speaking, Aquarius allows us healthy emotional detachment and objectivity.

However, due to a challenging square aspect between Venus and Saturn, this is a day of high-pressure and deep challenges to our values and relationships. Even the most optimistic of you may be challenged to maintain a light-hearted approach to the day.

Consider what action you need to take to deepen your commitment to your own true values. Remember, this does not indicate a bad day, but a day of serious action. It may be a very quiet action taken in the depth of your own soul.

At 7:08 PM EST, the dark phase of the Moon reaches its culmination at the New Moon at 8° Aquarius.

The Aquarius New Moon brings powerful energy to plant a seed for objectivity, progress, and revolutionary humanitarian efforts.

Set an intention regarding the ability to open your mind to innovations that will bring progressive humanitarian values forward.

Don’t neglect this New Moon ritual. Keep it simple. Take a moment to write down what you wish to begin, create, or increase in the upcoming cycle. Have two candles available for your ritual. Light the first candle to represent yourself, just as you are at this moment in time. Light the second candle as an aspiration of what you aspire to create.
Each day, take a moment to focus on yourself as you light the first candle. As you light the second candle, focus on drawing to you what you are creating, as you bring the two candles closer together. At the Full Moon in two weeks, bring them fully together and see the results of what you have created.

Share this ritual with your friends and loved ones.

Today’s New Moon at 8° Aquarius insists that you plant a seed of unconventional motion for the future and prepare yourself to grow in unconventional, humanitarian wisdom.

The Capricorn Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection)

From 2:18 AM EST until she enters Aquarius at 3:37 AM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

DEVELOP COURAGE TO SERVE HUMANITY

Saturday, January 28, 2017:

When you wake up Saturday morning, aggressive Mars has entered impulsive Aries. Mars is powerful, forceful, and combative in Aries (the sign he rules) where he will remain until March 9th.

Pay attention to the area in your chart that holds the sign of Aries. Be aware and attempt to mitigate issues of anger and aggression that show up in this area of your life. This is an area where you can be courageous in taking action over the coming 6 weeks.

However, I must also say, watch the news.  Where do you see impulsive action, selfishness, and aggression expressed in the outer world?

The progressive Aquarius Moon is with us throughout the day making lovely aspects to unconventional Uranus and philosophical Jupiter. This will be a delightful day to gather with like-minded folks. Direct your collective assertive energy in a manner that will support the greater humanitarian community.

The Capricorn Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection)

From 12:53 AM EST until she enters Pisces at 11:11 AM EST. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

POWER OF WORDS – POWERFUL THOUGHTS

Sunday, January 29, 2017:

Sleep late and enjoy a quiet morning on Sunday. The emotional Moon enters passive sensitive Pisces at 11:11 AM EST, asking that you pay attention to the development of your spirituality and compassion for self and others.

Additionally, Mercury conjunct Pluto at 3:21PM EST begins a new cycle of empowering the direction of your communications and your thinking. This is the time to begin a powerful study or profoundly deepen an existing one.

Serious power comes through your thoughts. Pay attention. Do some journal writing to contemplate the direction of your thoughts.

If you have plans to write this year, this is the day to begin the project!
