Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: May 30, 2016 through June 5, 2016

A Coign of Vantage by Lawence Alma Tadema via Wiki Commons

As we head into this week, reaching into June and the full summer season, we must remember that one of the main themes of this year is the square aspect formed between Saturn and Neptune (exact hits occurring on: 11/26/2015, 6/17/2016, and 9/10/2016).  With both planets now retrograde, we must reflect back upon issues in our lives relating to dreams, fantasies, escape vs. structure, reality, and stability.  How do we allow each of these energies to live and teach fully within us when they pull against each other so readily?

As we get closer to the next ‘hit’, pay attention to where these themes are activated your life.  Take careful note of the places where dreams conflict with reality, escape with restriction, fantasy with solid form, illusion with authority, compassion with control, and responsibility with bewilderment.  Finding a balance point is not easy. Keep your eyes open on each side of this divide; take full responsibility for where you find yourself.  Allow your mystical inspiration and your practical maturity to guide you.  Find a way to hold space within yourself for the full dichotomy of our lives.

Monday, May 30, 2016:

The Moon is in Pisces on Monday.  She is relatively quiet until evening when she forms a trine aspect to Mars at 7:10 PM EDT.  This offers us a good deal of physical energy.  Please don’t waste it sitting on the couch watching television or YouTube! The fact that it is Monday night should never be a reason to stay close to home. Shake up your routine.

At 9:09 PM EDT, the Moon enters Aries.  As we head toward bed on Monday night, a trine aspect is formed between Mercury and Pluto, empowering our conversations or our ability to make ourselves heard or understood.  What needs to be said?  Who does it need to be said to?  Craft a letter or an article that will bring depth to the topic at hand.

The cycle of Mercury and Pluto is about the expression of power.  Whatever expression was just beginning in late January is now easily expressed even as it continues to gather depth of understanding.  A powerful truth can be understood and spoken of in a way that is readily understood by others as well.  Say what you need to say.

Tuesday, May 31, 2016:

On Tuesday, the Moon remains in impulsive Aries.  The aspects formed by that assertive Moon suggest an easy-going day of possibility, accomplishment, and stability.  The Moon forms sextile aspects to Venus and the Sun, each in Gemini.  You can expect to find yourself in multiple sociable connections and conversations. Whatever endeavors you are involved in will very likely draw the attention and support of others.

At 7:24 PM EDT, the Aries Moon forms a lovely trine aspect (an aspect of free flowing energy) to Saturn, which encourages stability, an ease of effort, and the acceptance of reality.

Work on releasing your ego attachment to the results of whatever you are trying to accomplish; add disciplined steadfast effort and your progress will surprise yourself as much as others.

Painting No. 5 by Angelos Michalopoulus via Wiki Commons

Early in the day on Wednesday, the Aries Moon squares Pluto and conjunct Uranus.  You may notice yourself or others exhibiting selfish, impulsive, and even combative behaviors.  Be patient and kind.  Simply maintain enough awareness of your own responses to ‘not go there’.

You may need to bite your lounge or step outside for a walk in order to keep from taking an action or saying something that you would likely regret.  It may feel like a big deal in the moment but really, it is a simple Moon transit and will pass relatively easily if you do not feed it with unwise and unnecessary reactions.

Consider the dream, fantasy, or idealization that began at the end of February 2016 (Sun conjunct Neptune)  Do you have a clear picture of how you want that situation to look when it reaches its full illumination in early September (Sun oppose Neptune)?

Be clear about what you want, it would be easy to allow lack of clarity on this issue.  Consider that clarity of purpose will help inform you of the action that must be taken now to support the full expression you want by early September 2016.  At 10:41 PM EDT, the Sun square Neptune.  This First Quarter Square demands that an action is taken that will lead to your desired outcome.

At 10:47 PM EDT, the Moon leaves the fight behind and enters Taurus bringing rest, comfort, and sleep.

Thursday, June 2, 2016:

There is nothing quite like the simplicity and sweet taste of reverence in a well aspected Taurus Moon.  This is what Thursday offers.  A lovely Taurus Moon encourages us to seek reliability, the deep appreciation of beauty, comfort, and sensuality without guilt.

Yes, you can probably sense the struggle that is just ahead with a few, not so easy, lessons on the horizon.  On Friday, you will need to face reality head-on as significant issues loom; that can wait another day.  This day will help build strength to face those issues with more ease.

The Taurus Moon forms a sextile aspect to Neptune and a trine aspect to Jupiter on Thursday evening.  This brings a flow of expansion and opportunity along with the potential of deep sensitivity, spiritual devotion, and compassion.  Prepare for a day where you directly encounter the stability available within the depth of your commitment to your higher beliefs, your spirituality, and your inspired generosity and compassion.

Head into the world with the commitment to show kindness and compassion in all the areas where it is least expected of you.

Friday, June 3, 2016:

We are firmly in the Dark of the Moon as we prepare for the New Moon on Saturday night.  Until she enters Gemini at 11:01 PM EDT, the Moon remains in Taurus. However, we cannot expect the simplicity of Thursday’s Taurus Moon!

Friday will have complications.

In the wee hours of the morning, Venus square Neptune and the Sun opposes Saturn.  Later in the evening, Venus opposes Saturn (8:46 PM EDT).  These transits last much longer that the quick moving Moon transits, and will reflect our internal or external landscape for a day or so on either side of the exact time of the transit.

Venus square Neptune brings us to a place where we must take action on a dream that began toward the end of March.  Think about your relationship with alcohol, drugs, poetry, meditation, spirituality; all those things that Neptune brings to us.

Neptune offers imagination and the breaking down of barriers.  Do you remember that dreamy time in March?  I remember that I became almost obsessed with poetry during that time.  I think I’ll make it a point to write poetry on Friday.  Maybe this is the time to begin a meditation practice or stop constantly turning to that bottle of wine.  The question is simple: what action do you need to take to support your most valuable dream?

Now, consider the contact made between both the Sun and Venus to Saturn.  Because these are oppositions they show us the results of what we began the last time they came together in a conjunction.  Whatever you began at the end of November 2015, that was intended to increase your individuality, now we are shown how far we have come.

A similar situation exists regarding what you began in early January that was intended to increase love or value in your life.  Friday is likely to be a day of contemplation as you question your choices and the results of those choices.  There is much to consider as you can now see where the choices you made in November and January have brought you.

If you have not deepened your individuality or increased your sense of love and inner value, you must now consider how to adjust your life to increase independence and loving connection.

Saturday, June 4, 2016:

Saturday offers an interesting perspective on our current circumstances.  Because the actual New Moon doesn’t occur until 11:00 PM EDT, this is a day of building up to your need to make a significant decision.

What is the seed that you want to plant now?  Making the decision before the actual New Moon will abort its chances before it begins.  Allow the day to offer the secrets of the New Moon as it unfolds.

During the course of the day, the Sun, Venus, and the Moon all form a square transit to Jupiter with Neptune still in the mix.

Are you experiencing deep levels of love, expansion, and lack of clarity?  Illusion may keep the path unclear, things may not be as they seem.  Something that has been building since last summer is releasing its hold on you.  Do you have the courage to follow the inner whisperings of your heart?  Do you trust that what you are releasing now will create space in your life for more richness?  How do you manage the fear and caution that arises?  What voice is it appropriate to listen to? Which voice leads to heartbreak?  Which leads to a deep healing?

This is a day to go deeply inside, honor the part of yourself that KNOWS the path that calls you to its service.  You are well cared for as long as you trust that your path simply lies ahead.  The direction you take will bring you to where you are going.

At 10:09 PM EDT, the Moon conjunct Venus as the final aspect before the New Moon. Curiosity and communication combine with love and beauty.  Do you find yourself deeply curious about a new love, a new art form, or growth of your own personal values?  Decisions should be made after 11:00 PM EDT; no need to stay awake; tomorrow is fine.

Sunday, June 5, 2016:

The Moon in Gemini can bring with it great curiosity and mental stimulation; it can also show up as anxiety, impatience, and fidgety mental energies.  The Gemini Moon sextile Uranus in the early afternoon may amp this up.  It is important to find an outlet for intellectual creative curiosity.  Have open-minded conversations with people who think very differently than what you are accustomed to.  You may hear something that completely changes your view and perception of the world.  It is a great gift to experience the opening of our minds to new ways of perceiving our reality.

Take a direct step into curiosity by bringing up conversations that are thought of as taboo in polite company.  Go ahead; talk about sex, religion, and politics.  Maintain a posture of curiosity and LISTEN.  Be available to encounter a new way to see the world.

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets.  I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods.  I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.

* The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, textiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
* The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

Monday, May 23, 2016:

I hope you took my advice to have a quiet evening and an early bedtime on Sunday night. It will make Monday work much better for you. There is not a lot of activity among the planets on Monday, but what there is may take us off guard.

In the past weeks, we have had an abundance of planets in the Earth signs. This has supported us in developing stability and consistency within our internal process. Venus and Mercury remain in Taurus even as the general movement flows toward the excitement and action of Fire and Air.

The freedom loving Sagittarius Moon forming a trine aspect to the intensity and defiance of Uranus (11:37 AM EDT) alerts us to the need to express our most unique individuality. If you are living far from the mark of your most authentic self, you will feel either terribly excited as you push in that direction or you may experience deep levels of anxiety as you struggle against the tide that pulls you there.

Being that this is a short-lived transit, nothing huge needs to come out of it. Pay attention to where it calls to you, even in its smallest voice. That voice will return with the same message repeated over time.

Tuesday, May 24, 2016:

Tuesday morning, we may wake feeling a return of the stability we had before the Full Moon last Saturday.

The Moon enters Capricorn in the wee hours of the morning. The anxiety we experienced on Monday seems like a dream as it has now moved on with only a minor trace left behind.

But, what we really need to talk about here is Venus. Venus is the planet of love, money, and all that we most deeply value. Venus provides what is necessary in order to create meaningful connection to another and to deepen our ability to experience authentic pleasure. Venus has been moving through Taurus (one of her favorite places to be) since April 29th. During this time, our inclinations for pleasure have been grounded and body focused.

On Tuesday, Venus enters Gemini, where she will remain until June 17th.

During her time in Gemini, Venus focuses on communication and intellect. She wants us to explore how our intellect and communications can draw pleasure, love, and resources more deeply into our lives.

Emotions may be running high and we are likely more aware than usual of what brings us meaningful pleasure. Passion is close at hand and can readily express itself through words and action. Awareness and expression is the key.

Wednesday, May 25, 2016:

With both the Sun and Venus firmly in Gemini and the Moon waning on the other side of full, we would really like to have a moment to catch our breath. But, please don’t try and wait for it!

With the Moon in Capricorn, we are emotionally supported by our more serious and ambitious nature. We really want to ‘get stuff done’.

Long before you start the day, the Capricorn Moon forms an Earth Grand Trine with Jupiter (the planet of expansion and wisdom) and Mercury (the planet of communication and verbal expression). This offers a powerful opportunity to bring practical ideas to light. Watch how easily you are able to articulate what is on your mind early in the day.

If you have any writing to do this week, I recommend getting up very early on Wednesday morning to do that work. It will save you a ton of time later in the week.

If you are still writing at mid-morning, your communications will head into darker waters at the Moon conjuncts Pluto at 10:21 AM EDT. Do not shy away from topics of intense depth. However, in actual conversations with real people, exploring deep topics could be more problematic.

Remember, this is a transit of the Moon. It will not cause difficulties if you are able to simply be patient with your own mind and allow the energy to pass. You do not need to express everything that stimulates your mind. At 9:19 PM EDT, the Capricorn Moon squares Uranus challenging you to work with this challenge from a more humanitarian perspective.

Challenge yourself, your work ethic, and your integrity. Are you on a path that highly honors these principles? If not, you have work to do.

This evening is a good time to sit with yourself and get crystal clear on the true state of integrity in your work and in your life. No matter where you find yourself it is fine. No self-criticism necessary.

Simply take action to move in the direction of increased integrity and authenticity.

Thursday, May 26, 2016:

Jupiter squaring Saturn is exact at 8:27 AM EDT which is one of the major influences of the year 2016. This is a long-term transit, which first came into effect in August 2015. Consider that Jupiter wants to teach us to expand and grow in wisdom and understanding. Saturn, on the other hand, requires that we form boundaries; hold onto stability with self-discipline and structure.

When these two planets form a challenging aspect, we struggle to understand which way to go. Structures and long held beliefs may feel restrictive and no longer sustainable. Areas in your life that you always assumed would maintain an air of freedom and openness my need to be reeled in and controlled in some way. Where does your freedom feel curtailed? Where does your stability feel threatened by growing understanding?

Being pulled in these two directions can result in uncertainty and lack of clarity. How can we move forward when we are being asked to move in two directions that are at cross purposes to each other?

It is easy to see how this is reflected in the world culture and politics as well as in individual lives. In your personal life, learn to respect and love both sides of this dilemma. There really is no need to choose sides.  We each must learn to recognize and reject false dichotomy wherever we see it. Holding dichotomies is a practice well worth your time. Recognize that there are always options in the grey space between what seems clearly divided in two. There are always more options that what we initially see.

At 10:27 AM EDT, the Moon enters Aquarius. This highly supports this conversation about dichotomies. Aquarius opens us to a bigger picture of what is possible and is not narrowed to situations of individual significance. Opening your mind to a humanitarian perspective will allow you to see this internal struggle as a necessary part of learning to move forward in a truly healthy way. Moving forward requires both the expansion of Jupiter and the structural hold of Saturn. We are now learning to hold both realities in our lives together.

Friday, May 27, 2016:

When Mars turned retrograde on April 17th, we talked about bringing our thoughts and attention to our most dynamic energies. During this phase (Mars will turn direct on June 29th), we are asked to bring deep integrity and high purpose to our power of will and our use of sexuality. Mars sometimes forgets what is important and can get caught up with aggression and selfishness simply in order to get his own way.  Where have you used your direct energy without integrity, hurting yourself and others with an unhealthy use of your strength or determination?

On Friday, Mars backs out of Sagittarius and returns to Scorpio. Whereas we have been considering these ideas since mid April, now we must go deep and get real about our own responsibility and need to develop more solid values to inform our integrity. Take a risk and probe deeply into your motivations and desires.

Remember, we can only make improvements to our circumstances and ourselves by first getting very clear on the reality of where we are now. While Mars is retrograde in Scorpio, allow deep vulnerability as you face yourself unflinchingly.

The Moon remains in Aquarius throughout the day, helping us to remain clearheaded and easygoing as we face that vulnerability.  It is all a part of the path forward and Aquarius can move forward with easy detachment.

Saturday, May 28, 2016:

When you wake up on Saturday morning, it may seem like a good idea to plan a social evening. I would encourage you to think twice before you set that in motion. The morning begins under the very exciting energy of the Aquarius Moon sextile Uranus. Think outside the box and get a party together for breakfast! Go for an early morning hike with friends. The early part of the day may hold much delight.

However, at 4:19 PM EDT, the Moon squares Mars. When your feelings get hurt or anger arises seemingly out of nowhere, allow the feeling without the reaction. There is no need to ruin a perfectly fine Saturday evening. This is a Moon transit, thereby a quickly passing issue. Breathe deeply to manage your reaction and take time alone until it passes. Do not play the story attached to the initial anger or hurt over and over in your mind. Let it go.

At 5:05 PM EDT, the Moon enters Pisces allowing us to easily let go of the slight that had us so worked up just a few hours earlier. Suddenly, our priorities have changed and our harsh edges soften. Our compassion and empathy are heightened and we choose to avoid turmoil and stress.

Ultimately, you can enjoy a quiet evening with friends, make art, watch a movie, or meditate. You may be more sensitive and intuitive than usual. Your soul will respond beautifully to poetry, music, or film.

You may have an inner sense of the surreal; don’t grasp too tightly to the form that it takes. Allow your imagination room to expand into creativity.

Sunday, May 29, 2016:

The Third Quarter Moon phase is exact in Pisces at 8:12 AM EDT. This brings the Moon to the closing phase of the lunar cycle even as she is in the last sign of the zodiac. The focus is on the process of release, bringing to an end, and closing.

Consider all that must be released in your life in order to move into the new phase of growth that you know is just ahead.

At 2:13 PM EDT, the Moon joins Neptune, offering assistance in the letting go process. However, when the Moon square Saturn at 4:00 PM EDT, our resistance to letting go shows its face. The opposition to Jupiter at 5:30 PM EDT confirms that the process requires not only more effort than we had hoped, but also an effort that can be deeply challenging.

As the Pisces Moon impacts Neptune, Saturn, and Jupiter, she is shining a light on the long-term T-square between the three of them. Here, we are encouraged to look under the surface and acknowledge the importance of challenging habitual patterns and moving beyond fear and intolerance.

Finally, as the day comes to an end, the Moon forms a sextile aspect to both Mercury and Pluto. This is a happy way to end the day – and the week. Anticipate the opportunity to more deeply understand how powerful your mind is and your ability to put that power into service for the highest good for yourself, your community, and the world.

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: February 29, 2016 through March 6, 2016

The planetary alignment suggests a very active, busy week. We begin the week with the extra day of February. Remember, this is a leap year! Treat it as an EXTRA day and you will begin the week with a sense of abundance!

Early in the week, watch as your values or your experience of the values of others, take an interesting turn. This could show up in terms of money or love. You may be presented with an opportunity to stabilize these areas, even as they expand with unexpected or unusual growth. Anticipate and prepare for unique opportunities that can result in powerful new developments.

The weekend ahead may bring communication challenges as your thinking moves through anger followed by a turn toward confusion. Seeking a path toward deeper spiritual understanding will help.

The plus side of the weekend could bring unexpected travel. A road trip to Montreal is not out of the question! But staying out late dancing on Saturday night may not be the best option. Better to get some sleep and enjoy museums or places of worship on Sunday (those churches are beautiful).

This is a powerful week with a lot of changing energies. Hang on for the ride, maintain solid integrity, don’t be hard on yourself or others, and allow yourself to dream.

Monday, February 29, 2016:

We begin the week with the Moon connecting with Mars, pushing us forward with a powerful need to take action on some deeply felt issue. At 6:56 PM EST, the Moon enters Sagittarius opening some of the tightness or confusion you may have brought with you from the weekend.

Allow yourself to open your perspective and look to your dreams for the future. At 8:07 PM EST, Venus and Saturn form a sextile. This offers us opportunities in the area of love or money.

Keep your eyes open on Monday and Tuesday for possibilities you may not have considered. If an opportunity presents itself that feels good and proper; simply open your heart and your mind and say ‘Yes’.

Tuesday, March 1, 2016:

Starting the day on Tuesday, you may feel like you’re getting up on the wrong side of the bed. These feelings are reflecting the square between the Moon and Neptune

This is the day when navigating the path ahead may bring up many questions. We are distracted and possibly overwhelmed by the possibilities. We intuitively know that there are things we must let go of and directions that must be shifted in order to stay on our path.

The Third Quarter Square between the Sun and Moon occurs at 6:11 PM EST. In order to follow your own best intentions, you must know what to release and where to shift direction. It is important to stay grounded in this process.

Don’t throw the baby out with the bathwater! Narrow your focus and pay attention to what is necessary.

Wednesday, March 2, 2016:

Don’t underestimate the significance of the energies provided on Wednesday.
Your relationships to the most significant people in your life and your deepest held values (including money and other resources) seek exploration and new understanding.

Venus sextiles the wild energy of Uranus at 8:07 PM EST and is asking you (or at least offers the opportunity) to consider solutions and ideas outside the box of convention. With your emotions somewhat detached, you are able to see a bigger view and more possibilities. You don’t have to follow conventional norms or rules; you can follow your deepest hearts desires.

Lines of communication are open and you are open to new ways of experiencing your world. This brings an opportunity to consider alternatives to the status quo, open-minded perspectives, as well as the ability to detach from the opinions of others.

Follow your heart. Give more space to your creative and cerebral thinking.

Thursday, March 3, 2016:

The shift of energy from Wednesday into Thursday may feel considerable. If you loved the energy of Wednesday, today may feel a bit repressive. If you experienced a lot of anxiety on Wednesday, this new energy may feel stable and solid, what a relief!

The Moon enters Capricorn at 5:02 AM EST insisting that you get serious about the practical realities of your life. This is a day for ambition and serious work. You may feel the need to put your personal life on the back burner as you focus on more pragmatic concerns. Enjoy a sense of accomplishment by maintaining that solid focus on all those practical realities.

Before bedtime, it will be important to release that seriousness. Allow yourself a movie, a glass of wine, or extra time on your meditation cushion. Get to sleep in time to tune-in to open, intuitive dream space; especially when the Moon sextile Neptune at 10:57 PM EST.

Friday, March 4, 2016:

The theme of serious, practical accomplishments continues throughout Friday. As the Moon conjunct Pluto at 12:18 PM EST, you will likely be deeply focused on whatever work project you are involved in. Remember, that it may not be easy to be flexible.

At 2:58 PM EST, the Moon squares Uranus and flexibility will be key to managing this transit. If you are too profoundly focused, distractions could become a problem. Allow, develop, and seek flexibility. Allow for the gifts of imperfection and attempt to maintain a sense of humor.

When the Moon trine Jupiter at 3:30 PM EST, tensions should relax and the rest of the afternoon has the potential of being very constructive. You may be surprised at how much you can accomplish in a short period of time.

A quiet evening at home would be advisable. This is not an evening to go looking for pleasure in a social arena. If you want to make plans for socializing this weekend, Saturday evening will be the better choice.

Saturday, March 5, 2016:

This brings us to a very busy weekend ahead. On Saturday, Mercury squares Mars at 12:43 AM EST. Perhaps, you can sleep through the reflection of this argumentative aspect or experience the aggravation within the context of your dreams.

By the time you wake up Saturday morning, Mercury has left Aquarius behind to enter Pisces. You may notice your thinking takes on a very different flavor than it has since Mercury entered Aquarius on February 13th. Your thoughts may go to places of intangibility, high imagination, and deep sensitivity.

It may be difficult to follow a train of thought without getting lost in strong, watery currents. We can expect less clarity and more mystical thinking while Mercury remains in Pisces until March 21st.

At 11:06 AM EST, the Moon leaves serious Capricorn behind to enter detached, intellectual Aquarius. We are finally able to get away from so much focus on work and, on an emotional level, move to a cooler, more detached space where all kinds of possibilities may become available.

At 9:28 PM EST, Mars enters Sagittarius after having been in Scorpio since January 3rd. Mars represents our ability to take decisive action, assertiveness, and how we experience and use our sexual energy. While Mars was in Scorpio, we functioned (sexually and assertively) in deep pools of privacy and discretion as we explored our inner depths.

What have you discovered, hidden under the surface, about how your energy wants or needs to express itself? As Mars moves into Sagittarius, we are open to lighter, more exploratory arenas within which we are able to move our assertive, aggressive, and sexual energies. Explore new territory.

In April 2016, Mars will turn retrograde. This means Mars will remain in Sagittarius until late September 2016. Do you know what house Sagittarius occupies in your chart? This will be an area of significant activity between now and September. Make sure you were living your highest integrity in this area. The importance of this will be clear in the coming months.

Sunday, March 6, 2016:

Sunday begins on a serious note with the Sun square Saturn at 1:03 AM EST. Think back to a most serious issue in late November 2015. On November 29th, the Sun conjunct Saturn which began an annual cycle of developing maturity through integrity and hard work. What began in your life at that time? If you have the answer to that question, it will give you an idea of how to manage the square between them on Sunday.

As this is the Last Quarter Square in their cycle, signifying the end of this influence, it is important that you take an action on what began in late November. This is a serious aspect, asking you to make a decision and take action to move your life forward in a practical manner.

Slow down and consider carefully the vision you are working to create. Be clear that you are taking concrete, real-world steps to develop that dream. This is a time to look at reality and make sure you’re taking the necessary, practical steps forward toward an achievable goal.

As the day comes to a close, the Sun sextile Pluto at 11:40 PM EST which suggests that the hard work you are investing in your future opens possibilities for great empowerment moving forward. This is a delightful energy to end the week with.

Reflect and rejoice.

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: February 22, 2016 through February 28, 2016

February is the coldest month of the year here in New England. February’s cold is a very different kind of cold than what we have in December. It tends to be dry and sharp. Personally, I hate being cold, but there is something in the sharpness that wakes me up and makes me feel as alive as the heat of August.

On Monday morning, the Moon enters Virgo at 6:25 AM EST. We are instinctively drawn toward organization and efficient work. You may have a clear sense of your purpose and the skills you must develop in order to fully embody that purpose.

Monday’s Full Moon in Virgo reminds us to consider how far we have come since we began this lunar cycle two weeks ago at the Pisces New Moon. Whatever project or contemplation began at that time is fully released now into the reality of this world. This speaks to the release of creative energy and provides us with a clear view of how far we have come.

Many of us are deeply aware of a strong buzz at the Full Moon. You may have a clear sense of energy that has been building and now needs to be released. Allow yourself to celebrate this powerful, expressive energy.

Pay attention to what has been building in your life over the last two weeks. Enjoy where it has brought you. If your spiritual practice has been growing and evolving, you will find great satisfaction with where you find yourself now.

Tuesday, February 23, 2016:

Very early Tuesday morning, the Moon, still in Virgo, opposes Neptune. You must understand and accept the reality of living in a human body even as you stay true to your higher idealized vision of spiritual wisdom.

With the Moon opposite Neptune, it may be difficult to accept hard, cold reality at the same time as you open to the spiritual wisdom that aligns on a much deeper level with your soul. We must learn to release the need for perfection in order to find spiritual magic.

An opposition from Jupiter to Chiron encourages us to look clearly at our belief system and understand how our suffering allows us to connect with compassion for those who suffer just as we do.

Make no mistake; suffering is a significant and very human experience. If we use our suffering to understand the suffering of others, and we use that understanding to be of service to others, we will live a rich life indeed.

As the Virgo Moon trine Pluto and conjunct Jupiter on Monday evening, your ability to open your mind to new spiritual and emotional horizons is deeply empowered.

Wednesday begins with the Moon still in Virgo and forming a sextile to Mars. Beginning the day with physical activity would be ideal. Go for a run, get to the gym, or go for a spirited walk in the woods. Consider this physical activity to be a significant part of your day. Put real energy into that activity, no halfhearted efforts.

The rest of the day is likely to be quiet and uneventful. Do not start any significant activities or projects. This is the day to catch up on routine details; clean out your e-mail box, organize your files, or get the laundry caught up.

With the Moon in Virgo, it may not be easy, but please have low expectations for yourself and others.

When the Moon enters Libra at 5:42 PM EST, the energy will change significantly. How about turning this long, uneventful day into a delightful, spontaneous ‘date night’ or an evening with friends? Make the most of Wednesday evening.

Thursday, February 25, 2016:

Thursday and Friday of this week are important days to be consciously aware of your habitual communication patterns and thought processes. It may feel as though you have a little dance going on inside your mind. This dance is playing out between the need to stabilize your thinking even as you are taking risks to explore outside the box of your standardized thinking.

Take the time to consider what began in November 2015. At that time, Mercury conjunct Saturn, beginning the current cycle between them. Now, as Mercury sextile Saturn, we are given an opportunity to explore changes that have come directly from a line of thought or communication that began in late November 2015. There is no action required (yet), there is simply an opportunity to see things with new eyes and to understand more fully the importance of where our thoughts and communications bring us.

Explore different ways to communicate what feels important. Take your communications and your mindscapes seriously, even as the sextile between Mercury and Uranus (exact on Friday) wants to tell a more exciting, unusual, and innovative story.

Friday, February 26, 2016:

After Thursday’s sextile from Mercury to Saturn, on Friday, we have a sextile from Mercury to Uranus; both speak of opportunities, possibilities, and explorations for the mind.

If you are feeling mentally heavy or serious and you have a partner or friend that is exploring more unusual ways of thinking that are outside your comfort zone, pay attention. Certainly, it could be the other way around with you playing in an innovative, exciting space while your friend or partner is very seriously or conservatively inclined.

Right now, we have very different energies playing out in the arena of the mind. Oftentimes, it is easier to ‘see’ one side of this equation as coming from someone close to us, rather than the confusion that can happen when we try to hold both sides of the issue that are really each a part of us.

This could manifest in issues of study, conversations, or communications of all kinds. You may consider this as an opportunity to explore serious study opportunities… AH! This is the perfect time to begin a serious study of astrology!

Both Uranus and Saturn are honored in astrological study. The serious (Saturn) and the innovative and unusual (Uranus) are brought to the mind for study (Mercury).*

Allow space to pay attention to your thinking, your ideas, and your mental gymnastics. Enjoy the opportunities and the potential for quirky, yet serious thinking.

Saturday, February 27, 2016:

You may notice a considerable change in your emotional state as the Moon enters the quiet, secretive realm of Scorpio on Saturday at 6:27 AM EST. While the Moon is in Scorpio, we are aware of our deep emotions on a very personal level. Whatever we feel, we feel intensely. We are interested in what is beneath the words that are spoken.

With the Moon in Scorpio, we understand that knowledge is power and we know how to get to the bottom of things. We have no interest in conversations or interactions on a superficial level. We want to understand the depth and extent of our own power and what holds us back. The Scorpio Moon encourages intimacy and passion, deep passion.

Maintaining clarity regarding your own integrity is crucial. Manipulative tactics may offer themselves as a possibility, exposing a very immature side of Scorpio. Rise to the level of highest integrity. Remember, that the true symbol of Scorpio is the phoenix. The phoenix is a mythical bird of great longevity. When her life cycle is complete, the phoenix sacrifices its current self through fire and renews itself three days later.

This speaks to your need to sacrifice parts of yourself in order for deep and true transformation to occur. Consider what needs to be burned out of your own soul in order to reach the heights that you are being called to.

Sunday, February 28, 2016:

Once each year, the Sun meets with Neptune (exact at 10:46 AM EST). This begins the annual cycle between them. The Sun brings warmth and light to areas of your imagination, inspiration, sensitivity, or confusion.

It is a good idea to pay attention to how you start this cycle, as it will lay the groundwork for your spiritual growth or your artistic endeavors throughout the year. If you are on a path of spiritual growth, take extra time in meditation on Sunday. If you are an artist of any kind, pay attention to what artistic endeavors you begin now.

If you feel lost in fog, or if you have a hard time understanding the difference between reality and fantasy, simply allow that confusion. Do not try to fight against it. Approach any difficulties with humor, deep compassion, and love.

* The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
* The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

There are a few significant astrological changes coming over the next week for all of us to remember and integrate into our lives!

On Tuesday, Venus finishes her time in Capricorn and enters Aquarius.
Venus has been in Capricorn since January 23rd. During this time, we have tended toward a serious attitude toward finances and have probably worked overtime to develop serious structures within intimate relationships and business partnerships.

Your ambition and need for accomplishment has been an area of serious consideration; now this will change. The boundaries between friends and lovers may break down as your ability to be more lighthearted in your intimacies grows stronger.

It is easier during this time to openly love and connect with others.

While Venus is in Aquarius, it is the perfect time to examine your long-held beliefs about relationships and sexuality. There are many ways to love and while Venus is in Aquarius, we are able to explore outside the traditional boxes we normally stay within. It is important to consider at this time whether you are truly looking for a significant relationship or if you simply want a lover or a play partner.

On Friday at 12:33 AM EST, the Sun enters Pisces, and we come to the end of the current astrological year. Pisces is the last sign of the zodiac and signals the ending of one cycle as we prepare for a new beginning at the Spring Equinox, when the Sun enters Aries.

We leave intellectual brilliance behind as we reach to deepen intuition, sensitivity, and mysticism.

During this time, we may need more rest than usual to open our hearts and minds to the less obvious side of life. Take time over the coming weeks to pay attention to your dreams, listen to music, and meditate regularly. Seek a deeper understanding and compassion for others.

Monday, February 15, 2016:

The week begins with the First Quarter Moon in Taurus. Consider back to Monday, February 8, 2016. How did you spend the day of the New Moon? Can you identify what was the new beginning that occurred in your life?

Considering that what began at the New Moon will come into full illumination at the Full Moon on February 22nd, now is the time to take action that will bring the results you are hoping for. This is the day to take action.

Monday begins calmly enough with the Moon in Taurus. The energy kicks up at 9:35 AM EST, when the Moon enters Gemini. There are many stories to be told and conversations to have on Monday.

The afternoon should be a time for easy connections and lighthearted conversations. Open up to your own vulnerability and encourage others to speak openly. What do you imagine could come out of the conversations you engage in on this day? Think about this and plan accordingly..

Tuesday, February 16, 2016:

The Moon remains in Gemini all day on Tuesday encouraging us to continue the conversations that we began on Monday. Early afternoon this could prove challenging, as the stories you want to share are not necessarily appreciated by others. Pay attention to your audience and choose your stories accordingly. In the late afternoon, this energy shifts and more freedom of expression is available.

By the end of the day, Venus enters Aquarius, remaining there until March 12, 2016. During this time, we have the opportunity to explore new ways of relating to others and to our money and other resources. We will have the opportunity to examine, with a new perspective, the beliefs that we hold without question.

Now is the time to question those beliefs. Perhaps, your relationships don’t need to fit in the box you were told they did. Perhaps, you do not need to make or spend money the way you were told was necessary.

Due to the recent Uranus and Pluto square, the world is experiencing a radical shift. It is time to take our blinders off and examine some previously unexamined issues. It is okay to play with new ideas and ways of viewing the world. Radical change can bring deep expansion, profound connections, and even unexpected joy.

Wednesday, February 17, 2016:

Wednesday begins still on the high note of the active, sometimes jittery, sign of Gemini. Following a trine aspect between the Gemini Moon and the Aquarius Sun at 11:37 AM EST, the Moon becomes quiet until she enters Cancer at 2:24 PM EST. During this quiet spell, we may consider celebrating our own personal siesta. The activity of the past few days has left us just a bit tired.

When the day is done, we are delighted to head home. Nothing sounds better than our own home, a hot meal, and our closest family members or loved ones.

If you are heading home alone, do not fret. We do not need others to expand the internal depth of love we long for.

With the Moon in Cancer, our thoughts turn to family, security, and even the home of our youth. Give your mom, your sister, or your aunt a call this evening. Making contact with someone connected to you from a different time and space will bring comfort, and perhaps deep satisfaction.

Thursday, February 18, 2016:

On Thursday, the Moon continues through Cancer and yet, our minds are not content to rest in a quiet space developing security. There is an edge of anxiety as the Moon links with Pluto and Uranus, turning our minds toward that which interferes with our security. Perhaps, you have family members that challenge your most personal beliefs, which offer safety and security to your life.

This is a day to consciously and whole-heartedly accept the differences between yourself and others. We each see the world, our lives, and our families from a very different perspective. We cannot expect others to see the world from where we stand.

This would be a delightful day to sit in a busy public place and pay attention to your judgments as you watch people. Each person you see or each time you feel an internal judgment, simply say to yourself “This person wants to be happy, just like me” or “This person does not want to suffer, just like me.” This is a powerful practice, which will connect you to the entire human race with compassion and deep love.

Shortly after midnight on Thursday night, the Sun will enter Pisces. The intellect subsides as sensitivity and open awareness blossoms.

Friday, February 19, 2016:

The Sun’s entry into the passive, whimsical sign of Pisces at 12:33 AM EST brings the opportunity to release the past and embrace your own inner terrain. Your view of reality softens.

During the Sun’s time in Pisces, we are able to fully embrace a spiritual viewpoint even as we release the desires of ego. Take advantage of this time to notice what brings us together rather than focusing on what divides us.

The Moon enters Leo at 9:18 PM EST, just in time for a playful night on the town. This is a great date night or time to go out with friends, a night for dancing. Enjoy.

Saturday, February 20, 2016:

Saturday highlights an opposition between the Leo Moon and Venus and Mercury (both in Aquarius). This could easily manifest as an argumentative tone to the day. Both Leo and Aquarius are fixed signs, suggesting that each person engaged in this argument holds a powerful belief that they are right and only they are right.

Please take advantage of this information and allow yourself to truly see the other side of any disagreement or stressful engagements you may encounter. Do what you can to let it go. If you are unable to let it go, do your best to walk away and give everyone a chance to let time change the dynamic.
This is a passing issue; no one needs to win. As long as you don’t engage with the ‘issue’, it will pass and by evening, you will hardly remember what the fuss was about.

It is never worth having anything get in the way of a lovely Leo Moon on a Saturday night. If you are able to manage this well, you have every chance to enjoy a lovely evening with friends, family, or lovers.

Sunday, February 21, 2016:

Sunday provides us with a delightful Grand Fire Trine. With the Moon in Leo, Saturn in Sagittarius, and Uranus in Aries, excitement and passion are likely to be sparked.  Consider what activity can bring fun and powerful delight. Seek that which engages your most authentic self-expression.

This is not a Sunday to stay home quietly preparing for the coming week. The upcoming week will take care of itself.

If possible, get the day rolling early. There’s much energy at your disposal for fun and connection. Engage it early.
