ANTICIPATION AND REVELATIONS

Monday, October 24, 2016:

Monday begins with a brilliant trine between the extroverted Leo Moon and unconventional Uranus. We start the day with unexpected excitement and anticipation. Unusual and innovative ideas hover around us, waiting for us to pay attention. Follow your curiosity, especially if it is leading in directions that make your heart beat a little faster.

At 4:46 PM EDT, Mercury, the planet of intellect and perception, leaves Libra behind to enter the deep, intense waters of Scorpio. Mercury is moving quickly and will only remain in Scorpio until November 12th. This is a good time to dig deeply and investigate what has been hidden from view. Your focus may be intense, very private, and highly perceptive.

Pay attention to unusual, and potentially dark revelations.

At 11:16 PM EDT, the Moon enters efficient, industrious Virgo after being VOC* all day.

The Leo Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 8:21 AM EDT until she enters Virgo at 11:16 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

A LIGHT TOUCH

Tuesday, October 25, 2016:

Normally, the industrious Virgo Moon brings practical hard-working energy to the table.

However, on Tuesday practicality and productivity may be distracted by confusion, misplaced imagination, or even delusions.  At 9:54 PM EDT, Venus, the planet that supports our love relationships and finances, opposes Neptune, the planet that can dissolve what is real in order to develop compassion and inspiration.

You may feel love and romance in the air, but check how much substance is behind it. If you began a love relationship (or some other significant dream) in late March 2016, look at what has developed from it. Money and love can slip through your fingers at a time like this as Neptune dissolves what we hoped would develop into something solid and real. The most significant connections now will be of a spiritual nature. Allow inspiration and allow life to not make clear sense. Hold love with a light touch.

On Wednesday, when the Moon squares Saturn, your feet will land once again on the Earth and you will be ready to face reality.

KINDNESS CAN CHANGE THE WORLD

Wednesday brings clarity after Tuesday’s confusion. You will have the ability to use the practical Virgo Moon for productivity and efficiency without distraction.

Venus, the planet that represents your dearest values of love and resources, forms a sextile aspect to Jupiter, the planet of expansion and good fortune.  Yes, Venus is still engaged with the fantasies of Neptune (from Tuesday’s transit) so you will need to keep your eyes open and awareness fully engaged.

However, opportunities presented now are significant. Do not rush into anything but do not walk away.

Is there a connection to something of beauty that began in the last week of August? Whatever is offered now will require an important step forward during the last week of November.

Bring this energy of expansive love out into the world in any way you are able. Get creative! Take simple actions to show love everywhere you go. Bring coffee to the homeless person on the street. Offer a simple smile to the lonely. Consider how many folks are alone, how many folks long to be seen and acknowledged in even the smallest way. You can make a big difference in the world with your attention and kindness. How many people can you show kindness to on this one day?

The Virgo Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 2:33 PM EDT until she enters Libra on Thursday morning at 9:51 AM EDT.

Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

SEEK TRUE ACCEPTANCE

Thursday, October 27, 2016:

The sensitive Moon enters social Libra at 9:51 AM EDT on Thursday morning. The Moon in diplomatic Libra encourages us to engage in cooperation, to create harmonious social situations, and to engage in acts of love and beauty. It may not be easy to make clear decisions, as you are likely to see both sides of each situation you encounter.

Given the choice, seek out and create charm, grace, and beauty.

At 12:16 PM EDT, when communicative Mercury conjoins the mysterious Scorpio Sun, you may need to set aside some of that charm in order to be clear and honest in your communications. Do not be too attached to your own opinions; listen to what others have to say.  Really listen; listen in order to understand the fundamental differences between you.

Share your understanding without trying to make others think as you think. Share in order to better understand each other regardless of how different your views. A commitment to true diversity is not always easy. We really do see the world through different filters. Seek true acceptance.

The Moon is VOC* on Thursday morning until she enters Libra at 9:51 AM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

REMOVE EXPECTATIONS; SET ASSUMPTIONS ASIDE

Friday, October 28, 2016:

Friday begins with the graceful Libra Moon making direct contact with philosophical Jupiter, expanding your belief and generosity in your intimate partnerships or increasing your enthusiasm in the beauty you bring to the world.  The receptive Moon is also in sweet contact with both Venus and Saturn, offering you the opportunity to enrich and stabilize your closest loving partnerships through diplomacy, romance, or aesthetics.

When the Moon squares Pluto at 4:11 PM EDT, you may temporality lose your balance and encounter unwanted power dynamics.  Don’t engage too directly; allow issues of fear and control to pass over without feeling that you need to jump on any bandwagon.

As the day comes to a close, the square from Mars to Uranus (exact shortly after midnight Friday night – this energy will be prominent on Friday and Saturday) will dominate the evening.  Aggressive Mars square unpredictable Uranus can be angry, impatient, and dangerously assertive.

Keep a clear eye, over the weekend, on what is happening on the world stage as well as how you are managing to keep your own equilibrium solid.  Spend time in meditation; do your very best to develop a wider perspective on the world and a grander view of what is possible. What can you develop in partnerships and love if you remove expectations and set assumptions aside. Make the effort to simply discover, understand, and learn to express your own needs and desires.

STABILIZE LOVE & PERSONAL VALUES

Saturday, October 29, 2016:

Saturday we are presented with a powerful day as we continue working with the erratic energy of dynamic Mars square unconventional Uranus (this aspect was exact shortly after midnight).

The Libra Moon is VOC* for the majority of the day enabling some of the challenges that seem significant in the moment to ultimately pass without result.

At 8:44 PM EDT, pleasure seeking Venus conjunct responsible, stern Saturn may well leave you feeling lonely and unappreciated. However, think of this transit as the beginning of a cycle of stabilizing your most personal values, love, sensuality, and resources. Spend time on Saturday determining what beauty and love you want to bring into the world over the coming year. Plant a seed (as you do at a New Moon) that will have the opportunity to grow into mature love and beauty that will sustain itself over the course of time.

Where (in what house) does 14° Sagittarius fall in your chart? It is there that the seed will be best supported by rich soil and sunlight.

At 10:01 PM EDT, the Moon enters Scorpio bringing us into sight of the New Moon on Sunday.

The Libra Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 6:10 AM EDT until she enters Scorpio at 10:01 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

SCORPION NEW MOON – VULNERABILITY

Sunday, October 30, 2016:

Sunday begins with a touch of magic as mental Mercury trine elusive Neptune.  Mercury is the planet of our conscious mind, Neptune the planet of dreams, illusions, devotion and idealism. At this time, you can express the more inspired, spiritual, and compassionate side of yourself. This is a wonderful day for music, poetry, or spiritual explorations.

At 1:39 PM EDT, the New Moon is exact at 7° Scorpio.

Please take time to do a simple New Moon ritual.  You will want to complete the ritual after the exact time of the New Moon and within 24 hours.  This Scorpio New Moon brings powerful energy for the development of the expression of deep emotion. Set an intention regarding your ability to share your most powerful vulnerabilities and to hold, with great honor, the vulnerabilities of your loved ones.

Don’t neglect this New Moon ritual.  Keep it simple.  Take a moment to write down what you wish to begin or create in the upcoming cycle.  What do you want to see increase over the coming month?  Have two candles available for your ritual.  Light the first candle to represent yourself, just as you are at this moment in time.  Light the second candle as an aspiration of what you want to create.  Each day, take a moment to focus on yourself as you light the first candle.  As you light the second candle, focus on drawing to you what you are creating, as you bring the two candles closer together.  At the Full Moon in two weeks, bring them fully together and see the results of what you have created.

Share this ritual with your friends and loved ones.

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets.  I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods.  I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.

* The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, textiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
* The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: March 2, 2015 through March 8, 2015

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: March 2, 2015 through March 8, 2015

Welcome to another week!
Here we are finally in the month of March, 2015. I remember back in 2011 looking ahead with trepidation at the time between Summer of 2012 and Spring of 2015.

I remember wondering what that time was going to bring for the world, our culture, and our own personal lives.

Now, we are at the very end of this amazing time. The path we have been on has changed dramatically. It almost feels as though we’ve been lifted up and placed in a whole new world.

Grimm’s Fairy Tales Book Illustration with Rapunzel in Her Tower

We still have one more exact hit of the transit that has rocked our world over these past few years. The final connection between these two planets comes on March 16, 2015 at 9:53 PM EST. Uranus makes her final square to Pluto at that time.

Does this mean that the entire transformation of these last two years is over and things will settle down immediately? No. I do not expect that will be the case.

In thinking back to 1965 and 1966, when these powerful transformative planets came together and began their current cycle, it is clear to me that it took quite a while for the world to settle down following that impact.

As I look back to that time in my own life and at the history of that time, it is clear that everything did not settle down immediately following 1966. Much of the turmoil persisted. Some of the most relevant work of a transit follows the actual impact. The time of rebuilding continues the hard work. As we move forward, we assimilate what has occurred and pull our lives together to manage the change.

The thing with change is that often times the deepest transformation occurs more quietly than we expect; under wraps. Now, the change will begin to manifest in real world situations.

Watch these changes. Do you feel dread or excitement? Please make a conscious choice to choose excitement. This change/transformation is much needed in our world and in ourselves.

Monday, March 2, 2015:

Monday brings us an energized and active Leo Moon. Yes, we are in the middle of profound change. Yes, the amount of change may be deeply unsettling. We have little idea of where we will land. Yet, here in the middle of our uncertainty, right in the middle of not knowing, Monday offers us a view of enthusiastic possibility. You are able to see the potential of excitement on the path forward.

Allow yourself to enjoy the forward motion that you know is required and feel so strongly. We are building powerfully toward the final square between Uranus and Pluto. Utilize the generosity inherent in this day. This will strengthen our resolve as we move in the direction of our chosen path.

Tuesday, March 3, 2015:

Tuesday begins with the Moon VOC* in Leo. The dramatic Leo Moon remains in this non-active resting space until Wednesday morning at 6:58 AM EST. This is a very long VOC* Moon. If you can simply write this day off; hang out, read a book, or visit with friends that would be my top choice for the day! If you are not able to take the full day off, try not to put your effort and attention on anything that you need to amount to much down the road. Nothing much will come from the activities of Tuesday. Work with no expectation! VOC* days can be lovely if you can simply work with the reality of no expectation. We all need a day of rest periodically. At this time, because all the planets are gathered in the early degree of signs we have this situation where the VOC* periods are unusually extended.

However, Tuesday does hold the highly active excitement of Jupiter trine Uranus. The trine aspect suggests a free flowing energy between these two planets. The energy of Uranus carries a strong buzz and brings us new unexpected information and expansion. Jupiter speaks of faith, believe, and enlargement of purpose. Due to the retrograde motions, we encountered this transit in September 2014, and we will see it again in June of 2015. Consider any excitement or expansion that you felt in September. What is the common theme between then and now? Where is it bringing you? How is it changing your life? This transit could open the floodgates of love or money. It could suggest an expansion of an unusual belief system or an encounter with a culture quite different from your own. Enjoy this free flow of excitement. If something presents itself in your life that has the potential to expand your view into the future, run with it!

Wednesday, March 4, 2015:

On Wednesday, the Moon enters Virgo at 6:58 AM EST, ending the VOC* Moon that was with us all day on Tuesday. Thank goodness. Ask: where can I be of service?

Venus steps into a very powerful position Thursday, first forming a trine aspect to Jupiter; on it’s own this aspect

Book Illustration of Fairies with Yellow Flowers by Margaret Winifred Tarrant

could be expected to expand our capacity for love, relationship, or understanding of our values and beliefs. Right on the heels of this aspect, Venus meets directly with Uranus. This begins a new cycle of unusual expressions and expansion of relationship, love, and personal values. What are you excited about today? Venus also forms a square aspect to Pluto. The Uranus Pluto square, which forms its final connection on March 16th, is activated strongly by our love relationships and our connection to beauty, social discourse, and our personal values. How are you choosing to move forward with what others may not approve of? How is the transformation occurring in our lives informed by our deepest values and the reality of those we love? This is a very significant day. Pay careful attention to the course of your life from where you stand today. The pressure of change within our lives is very powerful at this time. This is true for us individually and for the cultures and world we live in.

Please treat others with deep kindness and respect. Not just those in your tightest circle of friends, coworkers, and family. Add a dose of kindness to those you encounter in more casual circumstances. Consider that everyone you meet is working with some version of highly intense issues. Show compassion and kindness to each human you encounter.

Thursday, March 5, 2015:

The Full Moon in Virgo is exact at 1:06 PM EST! After all of the intensity of Wednesday (certainly still with us), Thursday allows us to focus on straightening up, cleaning house, organizing, and tidying up some of that mess that seems to be everywhere we look.

At 1:37 PM EST, the Virgo Moon forms a trine aspect to Pluto followed by another very long VOC*. (*sigh). The Moon will remain VOC* until Friday at 7:52 PM EST when she enters Libra to bring us a more socially pleasant weekend.

At 7:18 PM EST, the Sun sextile Pluto. Think back to the very first week of 2015. Consider where you felt the need to deeply empower yourself with a major change in your life. Now you are empowered to gather information for taking a major step in that direction. The major step will occur in early April. The full ramification of what you began in January will be clear by the first week of July.

As you consider the cycles, it helps to remember that there are constantly multiple cycles overlapping and working together and against each other in our lives.
Therein lies the complexity of our path.

This particular cycle is one that has the potential of seriously empowering our future; it may require a time of solitude and is more apt to speak to our careers than our personal life. As you gather information on this next step forward, keep your eyes open this week for an opportunity that is significant to the next step. If an opportunity presents itself this week that fits this criteria, say YES!

Friday, March 6, 2015:

Oh my!! I find it a bit painful to look ahead and see another full day with VOC* Moon. As a reminder; VOC* is an acronym for ‘void of course’. This means that the Moon on its course around Earth is making no major aspects to other planets until it enters the next sign. Often, times these periods will only last a few minutes or a few hours. However, when most of the planets are in early degrees of their signs we can have these times where we have very long stretches of VOC* Moon. The difficulty during these times shows up if we are working toward accomplishment or if we want a result from how our time is spent. If we could each take these times for rest, recuperation, and routine activities there would be no problem. If we are trying to get something done that we expect to amount to something, we can feel as though we are spinning our wheels.

Things you don’t want to do during the VOC* moon: have surgery, get married, sign a business deal, begin a project, have an important meeting, or even buy new clothes! The things that you do during these times generally don’t amount to much. They don’t necessarily turn bad; they simply don’t amount to much! Some years ago I had carpal tunnel surgery during a VOC* Moon. You would think I would know better! Maybe it was a test! All that I went through with that surgery and there was absolutely no improvement in the issues with my wrist. Since that time, I’ve watched these VOC* Moon periods far more carefully!

Rest, watch a movie, read a novel, do routine tasks, clean the house!

At 7:52 PM EST, the Moon enters Libra bringing us a lovely Friday evening for socializing, spending the evening quietly with a partner, or creating something of beauty.

Saturday, March 7, 2015:

I hope you all took advantage of Friday evening with the Moon having entered Libra after such a long day with VOC* Moon. The socialization, the time spent with an intimate partner, or the effort you put into creating something of beauty should be extended throughout Saturday.

The best use of this day is to pick and choose from the list I recommended for Friday: socializing with friends, spending intimate times with a partner, or creating art or something of beauty.  Go out to lunch with your friends, stay home and create art, enjoy romantic time with a loved one! Can you imagine a more perfect day?

Yes, I know all of this is resting on the surface. Below this surface level, we are building so closely to that Uranus Pluto square. None of it is really as perfect or simple as we would like; there are intense undercurrents. Nevertheless creating art and spending time with loved ones and friends is the best prescription for this day. As the evening winds down, it may be best to head to sleep early, and reminder of that intensity is at hand. Enjoy what is good and positive about this day. Be kind. Be patient.

Sunday March 8, 2015:

If you went to bed early enough on Saturday night, you may have missed the intensity bubbling up beneath the surface. Sleep late on Sunday and perhaps you can play-out a good amount of that intensity in your dreams!

As the Moon moves through Libra on Sunday, she opposes Uranus and squares Pluto. This activates the intense power dynamics and demand for change between them. We are reminded of the seething cauldron below the surface of our world, our cultures, and our own personal lives. As we move further into the day, the energy will ease up and lighten.

Please remember it is always best to look our demons clearly in the eye. When we get to know and appreciate the darkness, we realize we can see better than we expected.

Two practices that will help immeasurably at this: Meditation and Kindness.

This week: The VOC* Moon!

VOC* (void of course) refers to the period of time between the final aspect that the Moon makes while in one sign until she enters the next sign. This can consist of several minutes or many hours. These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment; times ideally suited for rest and contemplation.
Block off these times in your schedule and avoid making significant decisions or working on important projects during these times. During VOC* Moon, focus on routine tasks. You will be surprised at how this one change will smooth the edges of your life!

Do you have questions about what is appropriate to do or not do during the VOC* moon? A simple way to think about it is to ask a simple question: Do I hope that this activity will amount to something? If the activity does not need to amount to anything go ahead with it! If you have an expectation or desire that this action is going to amount to something, do not do it while the Moon is VOC*. Think about the time you bought a book you were certain you were going to love and you never could finish it! Think about the time you bought the perfect article of clothing that you ended up never wearing; that is the Moon VOC*!

Tuesday, March 3, 2015 the Moon is VOC* (in Leo) following an opposition to Mercury at 3:48 AM EST and ending when the Moon enters Virgo on Wednesday, March 4 at 6:58 AM EST.

Thursday, March 5, 2015 the Moon is VOC* (in Virgo) following a trine to Pluto at 1:37 PM EST and ending when the Moon enters Libra on Friday March 6, 2015 at 7:52 PM EST.

The Aspects I consider: Conjunctions, Sextiles, Squares, Trines, and Oppositions.
The Planets I am working with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

A Passionate Dance offers a New Cycle of Love

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: February 16, 2015 through February 22, 2015

There is much interesting activity and shifting energies throughout the upcoming week! The Sun enjoys its final days in the sharp, intellectual clarity of Aquarius before entering the watery sensitivity of Pisces on Wednesday evening.

As we move deeper into the week, Mars and Venus are dancing closely together in Pisces. We intuitively understand and work with releasing the expression of desire and beauty that began in April 2013. Perhaps the cycle beginning at that time brought with it a new romantic connection, a new direction in art or expression, or a new focus of our financial concerns (on a personal note, I finally gave up all outside work to focus on my astrology business in April 2013!).

Porto, Portugal by André Burian

Porto, Portugal by André Burian

In the last degrees of Pisces, you can expect this release to bring with it a certain amount of suffering. The process will bring less stress if you can let go of your need to control the opinions of others. If you find yourself in a victim/savior role; step aside and work on building healthy patterns of relating with yourself and others. Maintain an awareness of your patterns of alcohol and drug use.

As Venus and Mars enter Aries (exact on the powerful Aries Point – zero degrees Aries) shortly after midnight on Saturday; watch for the fireworks.

Once the past has been released, you are free to firmly take the reins on a new project, a new relationship, or a new development and focus of your desire. This brings us to a new cycle between Mars and Venus.

Where is Zero Degrees Aries in your personal horoscope? Can you anticipate what this new cycle means regarding your desires, attractions, and deepest values?

Attraction and a powerful pull toward relationship can be very compelling and significant at this time.

By the end of the week, we are immersed in the powerful element of Fire. Remember, Fire moves very quickly, is powerful, enthusiastic, and hot. With the Sun in Pisces approaching Neptune, use this time to work with your meditation practice to keep from being overwhelmed by the passionate energies coursing through our environment.

Monday, February 16, 2015:

The week begins as the serious Capricorn Moon offers us the opportunity to deal with the practical realities of releasing what was once deeply important to us. It is time to approach and/or manage the practical and financial side of dissolving a business or personal partnership.

As you change the entire structure of your life, bring to mind-full consideration to the reality, the finances, and the possessions you want to retain and what you are willing/able to leave behind.

The more you are able to release at this time, the more you will open yourself to the fresh expansive future you are being called to. The Moon is VOC* following an opposition to Jupiter at 8:59 PM EST. Tuesday we will have that VOC* with us throughout the entire day!

Keep your mind awake and aware through daily meditation so you do not miss the breadcrumbs that are there for you to follow. Assist others with awareness and kindness.

Tuesday, February 17, 2015:

Tuesday begins with an opportunity to stabilize our emotional nature in the midst of intense change. The morning would be best spent with organizational focus as we approach uncertainty. The effort put into stabilization will be helpful over the next few weeks.

Tuesday afternoon and evening expect the seriousness of the morning to give way to excitement. We know that no matter what the difficulty, these changes will ultimately breathe new life into every cell of our bodies, minds, and spirits.

Tuesday evening provides an opportunity for socialization. Find folks whose passions and interests align with your own. This community is important to have in place as we reach ever closer to the final culminating aspect of the Uranus Pluto square.

Allow radical change.

Wednesday, February 18, 2015:

Wednesday begins with the Aquarius Moon, having been VOC* since Tuesday at 8:59 PM EST when the Moon opposed Jupiter. This is a helpful aspect to begin such a long VOC* Moon time, allowing us to hold an open and expansive awareness.

As we come ever closer to the Uranus Pluto square, it would be very helpful if we could take advantage of these very long VOC* periods. Life would work better for all of us if we could take Wednesday to simply care for ourselves in whatever way soothes and quiets our spirit.

Femme nue dans un paysage by Pierre Auguste Renoir

The Aquarius New Moon (6:47 PM EST at the final degree of Aquarius) starts us on a cycle that will potentially bring public awareness or exposure. Your most hidden desires may come to light, or be publicly exposed in a way that changes your perspective. Keep your eyes open and your awareness sharp.

Immediately following the New Moon, she enters Pisces. Two minutes later, the Sun follows the Moon into Pisces. As you head toward sleep on Wednesday night, anticipate powerful dreams and remember them when you awake Thursday morning.

As the Sun enters Pisces, awareness shifts from sharp intellect to deep sensitivity. We become aware of silent secrets and sensitivities in the deepest resources of our souls. The upcoming month brings sensitivity, imagination, and dreams. We go inward, we long for silence to explore what is unseen. It is time to go deep, to see with the inner eye, to accept the ability to feel our way through the world.

Here in the northern hemisphere, we are deep in the coldest part of winter. It comes easily to enjoy an extra glass or two of wine or to seek escape in ways that may be less than healthy. In these cold climates, perhaps some form of escape may be necessary. Make it a healthy one. Explore new kinds of music; explore the benefit of meditation or mysticism.

Thursday, February 19, 2015:

Thursday is the first full day with the Sun in Pisces. With both the Sun and Moon in this watery sensitive sign, you can anticipate a day of working with imagination and fantasy.

With Jupiter, Saturn, and Uranus each holding court in a different Fire sign, this influx of sensitive Water energy may feel stressful to manage. You want to take major dramatic action, and yet on the other hand you simply want to dream, lick a few old wounds, and nap! Work on finding a way to manage and balance these energies.

Remember it is you that is on each side of every equation. All kinds of trouble will be created if you project one side onto a friend, child, parent, or partner. If you are acting out drama and heat and your partner is acting out dreamy sensitivity, you can expect that both sides are part of the energy we are all living in. Do not play the blame game.
Be patient and loyal.

At 8:05 AM EST, Mercury sextile Saturn encourages us to look back to the last week of August 2014. What was your most serious consideration at that time?

Now it is time to explore and investigate where you want that path to lead you. A serious decision will need to be made on this issue in mid-March. Now is the time to gather the information to make the appropriate decision and take the appropriate path in mid-March.

At 7:11PM EST, Mars enters Aries, the sign of his ruler-ship where he will remain until March 31st. Utilize this time; much can be accomplished.

Venus will follow Mars into Aries on Friday and we will push forward assertively. If your health has suffered over the past few months, this should help those issues move forward and you should begin to feel much stronger.

Following a sextile to Pluto at 6:02 PM EST, the Moon will be VOC* until Friday evening at 6:12 PM EST when she joins the pack currently gathering in Aries.

Friday, February 20, 2015:
The Moon is VOC* in Pisces for another full day on Friday! This VOC* follows a sextile between the Moon and Pluto on Thursday evening. When a VOC* is preceded by such a powerful and active aspect, we are able to function well on a deep intuitive level. Our emotions and ambition are activated. Hold steady; internal self-work is called for.

At 6:12 PM EST, the Moon follows Mars into Aries and is quickly joined by Venus as she enters Aries at 3:05 PM EST. We now have four planets plus the South Node in Aries, Jupiter in Leo, and Saturn in Sagittarius.

That is a lot of Fire; a lot of assertiveness and aggression. We are being asked to access deep levels of courage.
With the Moon, Venus, and Mars all gathered at 0° Aries, I can’t help recommend that we keep an eye on what is happening in the greater world as well as the aggression in our personal lives.

Be aware of what is public and what is private. Be aware of the energy you may encounter in the public.
With the Sun closing in on Neptune, we may not see reality as clearly as we would like to imagine.

Watch your own internal aggression, work with what is real in your life, and maintain a focus on kindness, compassion, and self-care.

Saturday February 21, 2015:

I suggest that each of us takes clear responsibility throughout this weekend for our behavior and our tendencies to run roughshod over others.

Don’t play the victim. Don’t leave space to be put in the role of victimizer.

This is an excellent weekend for high physical activity, release anxiety through intense physical drive. However, please be mindful, do not be reckless in the face of physical activities.

On Saturday, the Aries Moon comes in contact with Uranus square Pluto as they come ever closer to their final contact point in March.

Shortly after midnight (technically on Sunday), Venus and Mars connect at 1° Aries. This ends the cycle between them that began in April 2013.

When Venus and Mars come together, our minds turn to relationship as each of these planets play a major role in our most intimate partnerships. Think of Venus softening the energy of Mars while Mars activates the beauty and love of Venus. The fact that this cycle begins at the Aries point suggests that there is something profoundly public within partnership and asserting the self.

We are beginning a new two-year cycle of working within partnership. We are completing a relationship even as we begin a new one, or we are ending one phase of a relationship even as we begin a new phase to the partnership. Approach this with fully open eyes and mindfulness.

The Moon goes VOC* at 7:36 PM EST following a trine to Jupiter. There is nothing to accomplish but plenty of energy to expend. Find a useful and healthy outlet for that energy!

Sunday February 22, 2015:

For Saturday’s post, I talked about the Venus Mars conjunction, which technically happens very early on Sunday morning. As you awake on Sunday, contemplate your relationship status. What is beginning? What is ending? How do these two support each other?

Allow your desire for beauty and harmony to calm the fiery flames of Mars in Aries. Allow those flames of Fire to bring the issue of beauty, love, and harmony out into the world with determination and courage! The Moon is VOC* in Aries throughout the day following the trine to Jupiter on Saturday evening.

You may want to consider Sunday to be a day of play although you must be more cautious than you may like. This is not a quiet day to sit and read a book or watch movies. This is a day to use your body, exert yourself, stretch your boundaries, and continue the process of developing courage in your life.

At 7:28 PM EST, the Moon enters Taurus. We need the bit of calm Taurus may provide! All in all, this has been a very powerful weekend.

A simple way to think about it is to ask a simple question. Do I hope that this activity will amount to something? If the activity does not need to amount to anything go ahead with it! If you have an expectation or desire that this action is going to amount to something, do not do it while the Moon is VOC*. Think about the time you bought a book you were certain you were going to love and you never could finish it! Think about the time you bought the perfect article of clothing that you ended up never wearing; that is the Moon VOC*!

Monday, February 16, 2015 the Moon is VOC* (in Capricorn) following a sextile to Mats at 3:17 PM EST and ending at 7:12 PM EST when she enters Aquarius.

Tuesday, February 17, 2015 the Moon is VOC* (in Aquarius) following an opposition to Jupiter at 8:59 PM EST and ending on Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at 6:47 PM EST when she enters Pisces.

Thursday, February 19, 2015 the Moon is VOC* (in Pisces) following a sextile to Pluto at 6:02 PM EST and ending on Friday, February 20, 2015 at 6:12 PM EST when the Moon enters Aries.

Saturday, February 21, 2015 the Moon is VOC* (in Aries) following a trine to Jupiter at 7:36 PM EST and ending on Sunday, February 22, 2000 15 at 7:28 PM EST when the Moon enters Taurus.

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: February 9, 2015 through February 15, 2015

What an interesting week we have to look forward to!

This second week of February 2015 is astonishing in it’s lack of significant aspects. Yes, I could add minor aspects, asteroids, or all kinds of other things to the picture to give us more to talk about. However, I prefer to simply accept and delight in a relatively non-uneventful week. Now, doesn’t that sound wonderful?

Nude in Backlighting, or The Eau de Cologne by Pierre Bonnard

Nude in Backlighting, or The Eau de Cologne by Pierre Bonnard

Could this possibly be a week of rest and simplicity? Don’t get too comfortable as Sunday is bound to bring its challenges!

We begin the week still dealing with the issues of Mercury’s retrograde cycle. Personally, I have experienced this Mercury retrograde as rather amusing. The issues that I have encountered have been so predictable.

Yes, there have been issues and challenges with scheduling, communications, and forgetfulness. Several times this week, I’ve wildly searched for a particular communication in my e-mail box only to discover the entire conversation had been going on in Facebook! Ugh.

Annoying, yes, but those kind of issues can be brushed off with a bit of humor. Fortunately, my clients have rolled with it easily as well. You know who you are: Thank you!

The best astrological issue occurs in the middle of the week! We are ready! Wednesday, February 11th at 9:56 AM EST Mercury turns direct! This is the kind of news we are all delighted to hear.

Have you completed the projects you have been re-doing, re-writing, or re-working on? Are you ready to move forward with new projects, new communications, and a new mental attitude?

Enjoy the quiet of the week; enjoy the shift as we move forward once again.

Monday, February 9, 2015:

The week begins with the Moon in Libra, the sign of diplomacy and beauty. No sooner does the day begin when the Moon forms a lovely sextile to Jupiter, followed by a beautifully flowing energy of a trine to the Aquarius Sun. What a beautiful start to the day/week!

At 6:58 AM EST, following the trine to the Sun, the Moon is VOC* until Tuesday morning when she enters Scorpio.

Once again we have a full day with the Moon VOC*.

Enjoy easy, uncomplicated social engagements with like-minded and fun individuals. Don’t look for an agenda in these social gatherings. Simply enjoy the presence and intellectual banter of others. Remember the VOC* Moon represents a time when it is best not to be focused on accomplishment. That does not mean these are negative times. The energy of this time is largely determined by the final aspect the Moon forms before the VOC*. In today’s example, the final aspect was a trying between the Sun and the Moon – Lovely!

This has the potential to be a very intellectually stimulating and fun day. Enjoy it for exactly what it is.

Tuesday, February 10, 2015:

Long before we wake on Tuesday morning, the Moon has entered the deeply intense waters of Scorpio. Tuesday will be much better for getting work done, particularly if the work involves research or investigation of some sort. The best time to work with this energy is early in the day. By late afternoon, it may be a little more difficult to focus your attention on what came so easily in the morning. At 3:14 PM EST, the Moon forms a lovely trine to Neptune. A lovely evening for romantic encounters, soft music, candlelight, and passion!

A Woman Undressing by Pierre Bonnard

A Woman Undressing by Pierre Bonnard

Yes, Mercury is still retrograde (currently stationing at 1° Aquarius), so you will want to lean heavily on nonverbal communications throughout that candlelit dinner. Don’t expect intellectual conversations!

If you are alone on Tuesday evening, light those candles for yourself, enjoy the sensual pleasures of a hot bath, read poetry, and listen to soothing music. Make this a special evening of self- care and nurturing.

Wednesday, February 11, 2015:

We are delighted to greet this Wednesday morning! Mercury turns direct at 9:56 AM EST (1° Aquarius)!

How well have you done in clearing your desk of projects that needed completion? Can you feel your mind turning toward new projects, new endeavors, and new directions? Are you ready to move forward?

It will take several days for Mercury to get up to speed, so for now, tie up any loose ends and start the preparation for the new set of projects that you want to work on between now and the next Mercury retrograde (May 18, 2015).

The Moon is in Scorpio throughout the day bringing our attention to the deeper, more powerful issues beneath the surface of our lives.

Wednesday also brings us to the Third-Quarter square Phase of the Moon (10:50 PM EST). Pay attention to where you are being called to look clearly at reality and make necessary adjustments to your path. We have another week to prepare for the new Lunar Cycle which begins on February 18th.

Thursday, February 12, 2015:

We will want to move slowly, without hurry as we begin the day on Thursday. As the day begins, the Scorpio Moon forms a trine aspect to Mars. Following this energizing aspect, the Moon will be VOC* until she enters Sagittarius at 11:47 AM EST. If you can arrange your schedule, don’t start the work part of your day until then.

Thursday afternoon may feel a little hectic as we try to accomplish enough to cover the lack of accomplishment in the morning. At 7:31 PM EST, the Moon conjunct Saturn ushers us into an overly serious evening. Consider what you are focusing this serious energy on. Take stock of where you find yourself in your life.

Consider the avenues open to you to learn more about your world. You may want to contemplate travel, education, or spiritual understanding. You may feel the need to understand cultural differences between yourself and others. Sit with these thoughts on Thursday evening. Consider what you are currently learning and what your soul longs to more deeply understand. Look around you.

Ask the people in your life what they want to learn that they believe will seriously expand their understanding of the world we live in. You may be surprised what you learn regarding people you thought you knew well.

Friday, February 13, 2015:

I can scarcely imagine a day better than this Friday! The Moon forms a grand trine with Uranus in Aries and Jupiter in Leo. This allows us a new free ride of expansive expression. Take a risk to fully express yourself today. Explore something new that you have always been curious about.

This is a perfect day to explore museums, art galleries, churches and synagogues. Explore the way other people live and what they believe. Teach yourself to be seriously curious about how others think!

If there was only one thing astrology has taught me in the last 45 years, it is how differently each individual experiences and views the world. The difference in our perspectives and the conclusions we come to from those perspectives are tremendous. Be curious! Ask questions. Be open to the answers you receive and ask more questions! Share your viewpoint without attachment, for the simple joy of sharing.

Do you have a habitual pattern of behavior for Friday evening? If so; break that pattern this week. Do something different! Engage with people that may be outside of your comfort zone. Go dancing. Find pleasure in activity and expression.

Perhaps you will want to celebrate Valentine’s Day on Friday rather than Saturday.
This is a lovely day! Enjoy.

Saturday February 14, 2015:

Saturday begins with the Moon still in Sagittarius. The energy is a bit more subdued than it was on Friday. If you have chores you need accomplished, get up early and get all necessary tasks completed before 10:15 AM EST.

At that time the Capricorn Moon squares Mars, followed by the Moon VOC*. We may notice ourselves and others being cranky, frustrated, or irritable until the Moon enters Capricorn at 5:24 PM EST.

If you are celebrating Valentine’s Day, be aware that this is not a great evening for frivolous fun and light romance. I would not celebrate this holiday with someone that you are not in a deeply serious and committed relationship with.

When the Moon is in Capricorn, fun is not what is on the agenda. You will do better to discuss the more serious goals and ambitions of a partnership, such as business plans or building your financial future.

If you are alone this evening, you will be able to focus on something of a serious nature that you want to accomplish. Please do not waste your time in melancholy or feeling sorry for yourself.

Remember, this is not a frivolous evening. This is a serious evening of looking at the reality of your situation and determining the steps to take to get it to where you want to be.

Sunday February 15, 2015:

Just in case he is reading this, I want to give a shout out, a happy birthday to my dear son, Elliot Thor Lajza! It is only appropriate that his birthday fall on a day with a very serious Capricorn Moon, as he is a serious young man with a Stellium in Capricorn.

This week has been relatively easy with few complications.

Sunday is bound to be the most difficult day of the week. The Moon in Capricorn is solitary and serious, and on Sunday she encounters the square between Uranus and Pluto.

The morning may seem relatively uneventful but by afternoon you may do well to take time alone to avoid difficulties with others. Moon aspects pass quickly; don’t get wrapped up in problems that will past before Monday morning!

Respect the process of everyone you encounter. At this time, the square between Uranus and Pluto is gearing up for its final confrontation in March. As they reach closer to the exact time of that connection, they become more easily agitated. When other planets activate their connection, such as the Moon does on Sunday, their ongoing disagreement is aggravated. I have talked about the Uranus square Pluto transit and thought about it incessantly over the last several years. Let me remind you, Uranus represents change, revolution, and high anxiety. Pluto represents destruction followed by transformation and the possibility of deep empowerment. As these two planets come together, it is an intense demand for irrevocable transformation in our personal lives, cultures, and the world. How is the process working out in your own life? Be patient with everyone you see.

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: January 19, 2015 through January 25, 2015

This is indeed yet another week of powerfully shifting energies!

The week begins with the seriousness of the Moon in Capricorn again reminding us of the excitement and transformation that is still working its way through our lives and our world, courtesy of Uranus and Pluto.

This week we have several very long periods with the Moon VOC*, giving us a chance to rest and recuperate.

The cycle between Venus and Jupiter culminates with an opposition, which speaks of the expanding nature of love and resources. Look back to mid-August 2014, consider the love or resources expanding at that time. Now we clearly see where that expansion has taken us. Did we expand something worthwhile? How big is that love now… or do you see now that it was a mistake? Clarity should be obvious.

The cycle between Mars and Neptune comes to a close. This begins a new cycle of bringing energy to our spiritual life, bringing confusion or fantasy to our sexuality, or other physical manifestations of our most assertive energies.

Young Girl on the Shore by Edvard Munch

Young Girl on the Shore by Edvard Munch

The Sun leaves hard-working Capricorn behind to enter the sign of off-beat high intellect that is Aquarius. The New Moon occurs almost immediately following the Sun and Moon’s entrance into Aquarius. As we begin the new lunar cycle, it is important to focus on what we want to develop that is intellectually unusual and of benefit to all of humankind.

On Wednesday, Mercury goes retrograde! Please don’t get nervous about this. A bit of preparation goes a long way. You can simply make a list of what’s been left undone over the last several months and keep your focus on that during this three-week period of time. This is a very productive time if you use your energy to tie up loose ends and complete projects that have already begun.

As we move into the second half of the week, things lighten up. We have a lovely opportunity for stabilization early Friday morning. The weekend provides us with plenty of energy as the Moon travels through Aries bringing lots of activity and motion forward.

We have cycles culminating, cycles ending, cycles beginning, the Sun leaving Capricorn behind to enter Aquarius, and Mercury turning retrograde! This is a big week!

Monday, January 19, 2015:

The week starts with significant activity. On Monday, the Moon is in Capricorn making contact with Pluto and Uranus before 6:00 AM! From 5:51 AM EST until Tuesday morning, the Moon is VOC*. This is a very long period of time to have the Moon VOC*. If you could take the full day off from work and simply do routine activities and rest that would be the best way to utilize this day.

This is a very significant day. At 8:43 AM EST, Venus opposes Jupiter. This aspect suggests the ability to see fully how our values, our current love relationship, or our finances are expanding our world. This cycle began in mid-August 2014. Consider what began to expand in your life. Was it love, was it a change in personal values, or did it involve your finances and resources? Now with the opposition between Venus and Jupiter, you can look clearly back at the beginning of the cycle to understand where it has taken you. What adjustments need to be made as you move forward?

At 7:08 PM EST, we begin a new cycle between Mars and Neptune. The last cycle between them began in February 2013. This would suggest something unclear regarding physical expression of assertive energy, the impact of fantasy on physical desire, or bringing spirituality to sexuality. The full illumination of that cycle came in October 2013. Can you see the pattern? Can you see something mysterious, passive, or unclear regarding assertiveness that began in February 2013? The full illumination occurred in October 2013. Now we begin again.

When Mars and Neptune come together there can be a deeply charismatic energy. People who have these two planets connected in their natal charts are often very charismatic on a physical or sexual level; they are often very attractive. This combination can also suggest a high level of fantasy regarding sexuality. Consider what began in February 2013 regarding these issues. Now we let go of what we began at that time, and start a new cycle. Could your sexual relationship(s) be improved through the addition of fantasy and play? This could be a great time to begin a new playful direction in your love relationships.

17th-Century Engraving of the Constellation of Aquarius

17th-Century Engraving of the Constellation of Aquarius

At 4:42 AM EST, the Sun enters Aquarius! This past month the Sun has been shining its light through the sign of Capricorn. Perhaps we have worked hard, our ambition has been high, now it is time to move outside the box! The energy of Aquarius is emotionally detached and highly intellectual. Aquarius does not suggest the simple intelligence of knowledge but a form of genius that is able to open the mind to what has not been seen before. While the Sun moves through Aquarius we have access to a greatly expanded world-view. Our opinions and thoughts can go to places that may surprise us or those who think they know us. We are able to see the bigger picture of humanity. Our attention is less focused on the self and more focused on the collective.

Tuesday also brings us the New Moon at 0° Aquarius. This begins the lunar cycle that will come to full fruition at the Full Moon on February 3, 2015.

Begin an inspired project that somehow breaks with tradition, or moves you beyond a relationship that is too controlling. If you are seeking more independence, take a serious step forward today. This is a time for beginnings; plant a seed that will unfold and bring forth the quirkiest, most interesting side of your individuality. This New Moon encourages us to chart new territory; pursue innovative and experimental ideas and directions. Plant seeds to bring you to a new place of excitement that will display your most unique self.

Wednesday, January 21, 2015:

On Wednesday, Mercury turns retrograde. I am delighted to see that the entire culture is finally beginning to embrace a more positive view of Mercury retrograde. I distinctly remember when I first became aware of Mercury retrograde and it’s reflection in our human lives. It was always presented in such a negative light. We cannot totally whitewash it, however, as Mercury retrograde does have a difficult side. Communications seem problematic, relationships feel strained, and everything we touch seems to break down.

The Love Letter by Joseph Frederic Charles Soulacroix

The Love Letter by Joseph Frederic Charles Soulacroix

After many years of working carefully with Mercury retrograde and speaking to many clients about their experiences, it has become clear to me that Mercury retrograde is truly a powerful time. If we learn to work with this energy, it can benefit us greatly.

The best thing to do is prepare ahead of time. Although, you can still use Mercury retrograde to your advantage even if you haven’t prepared. Schedule time on Wednesday (or sooner if you read this beforehand) to prepare for the coming three weeks. Make a list of all the projects that you have started, communications that have begun but not been completed, and emails and phone calls that have slipped through the cracks since Mercury’s last retrograde period in October of 2014.

Once you have completed this list, you can confidently accomplish a great deal over the coming three weeks. Focus on your list. Do not start anything new. Focus on the completion of what has begun before. You can safely expect people, situations, and communications from the past to reappear to be dealt with once again. Making excellent use of Mercury retrograde is a very powerful change that you can bring to your life with even a small amount of understanding astrology.

Thursday, January 22, 2015:

The Moon enters Pisces at 7:48 AM EST bringing with it a need to let go of some structure and allow for a bit of dreaminess. Focus may not be easy to maintain but this can be a productive day nonetheless. Allow yourself to move steadily forward and you may be surprised what gets accomplished. Honoring the energy of Pisces periodically throughout the day will help you maintain focus. Take time for meditation, sit quietly listening to music, read, or write poetry.

There is a Sextile between the Sun and Saturn that forms just after midnight Thursday night. It will surely impact both Thursday and Friday. We will talk more about it in Friday’s post.

We are deeply aware of the path that we committed ourselves to in November. What commitment did you make in mid-November? The Sun has pulled far enough away from Saturn so we can see what a long journey we have begun. We now have the opportunity to deeply explore and investigate the way forward. This is an opportunity to deeply stabilize the serious commitment we have made to this path.

Friday, January 23, 2015:

Friday presents us with the opportunity of deep emotional healing. The Moon Sextiles Pluto as her final aspect in Pisces at 6:13 AM EST. The remainder of the day is spent with the moon VOC*. If it is at all possible this is an excellent day to go inward, allow yourself to freely dream, follow your heart to explore its deepest quiet desires.

Thursday’s post talked a bit about the Sextile between the Sun and Saturn. That aspect impacts today as well. Think back to the time right around November 18, 2014. At that time there was something of a serious nature that was very highly activated in your awareness. Consider what that was; what began in mid to late November? Whatever it was, it has taken you a step in the direction of maturity, responsibility, and integrity. Now, approximately 2 months later, the Sun has moved far enough from Saturn to have some perspective on the path we now find ourselves upon. We begin to get perspective regarding the reality of what we have taken on and where we are going. This is a step of curiosity and exploration along this path. We see the potential and we know the risks. The only thing that is set in stone is that we are on this path; how we follow it, what the detours are along the way, and how long it takes us to get where we are going is being negotiated now. Anticipate the pleasure of this process.

Figure in the forest by Catherine McBride

Figure in the forest by Catherine McBride

After Friday’s very long VOC* Moon, we are relieved when she enters Aries at 8:31 AM EST, this is a day to get a great deal done on your own. If you attempt to work with others on Saturday, you may find yourself cranky and irritable. Spend the day alone, enjoy your own company, and utilize your physical energy. If you notice others being impatient, cranky, or aggressive; do not engage! Everyone needs alone time.

On Saturday, many of us are going to simply want our own way; we do not want to compromise; we do not want to share. That is fine. Take the time to cater to your own needs on Saturday. If you’re not able to do this, it will be a practice in patience and kindness. Saturday would be the perfect day for solitary physical activities such as skiing, snowboarding, or running; really any kind of physical activity where you only have yourself, your own body, and your own energy to account for.

Sunday January 25, 2015:

Sunday is likely to have the same kind of strong independent energy as Saturday. The Moon continues through Aries throughout the day. Early in the morning (EST) , the Moon makes contact with both Uranus and Pluto encouraging us to look at what is behind any irritability we may have. Why are we struggling against the transformation and change required in our lives? Do not try to please others or make social situations work on Sunday. Again, allow yourself time alone to physically express yourself. Individual physical activities are once again highlighted. By evening, you may be a more able to connect with others. Keep kindness as your focus and allow yourself to look directly at the areas of transformation in your life. What is the cost of this transformation? Now look at all the ways that it is worth the hard work to get there.
