The Artist’s Garden at Vetheuil by Claude Monet

Not only is this blog post a day late, but this is an abbreviated post as well.

In writing this blog I believe my work is to inform you of the changes in the astrological cycles in order to help you understand how to manage significant changes in your personal life.

Change is rampant in our lives at this time; my life is no exception!

These weekly posts take a good deal of effort and I generally spend the better part of my weekend working on them. This weekend, however, I allowed myself to set the blog post on the back burner.

Brenda and I spent the weekend in Portsmouth, New Hampshire enjoying a lovely road trip and beautiful autumn weather!

There are two things that are crucially important to me in providing me with the energy I need to get through the cold Vermont winters.

  1. Bonfires! There are few things in the world be my soul more than building a fire, feeding a fire (the bigger the better), and watching that fire die slowly to embers.
  2. The powerful Atlantic Ocean! I need to soak up the energy of the surf against the rocky Maine coast, to breath the salty air, to hear the sea gulls scream.

I was very fortunate to encounter more bonfires this year than most, and still have a few planned in the coming weeks!

There have been major changes in my personal life that have shifted previously stable routines and with that upheaval I had resigned myself to not seeing the ocean at all this year.

That all changed with the opportunity for an unexpected trip to Portsmouth New Hampshire this weekend!!

It was such an unexpected treat. However, it didn’t take up my blog writing time!

So, please forgive me! It won’t happen often but this was more important than it may seem!! Think of me at the ocean, feeling the wind in my hair, building energy to get through the long cold Vermont winter as I guide you with the cycles of the planets!

This will be a simple quick post! Luckily it is somewhat of a simple, quick week!

The most significant thing about this week is that we are now on the other side of the eclipses! We are each moving quickly in the direction of our future!

Now on to the days of the week! With a quick detour for the times of the VOC* Moon!

This week: The VOC* Moon!

Block off these times in your schedule and avoid making significant decisions or working on important projects during these times. During VOC* Moon, focus on routine tasks. You will be surprised at how this one change will smooth the edges of your life!

Monday, October 27, 2014 Moon is VOC* following a Trine to Jupiter at 12:18 PM EDT and ending on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at 6:03 AM EDT as the Moon enters Capricorn.

Wednesday, October 29, 2014 Moon is VOC* following a Sextile to Saturn at 11:01PM EDT and ending on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 9:52AM EDT as the Moon enters Aquarius.

Saturday, November 1, 2014 Moon is VOC* following a Square to Saturn at 2:22 AM EDT and ending at 12:36 PM EDT when the Moon enters Pisces.

Monday, October 27, 2014:

UNDERSTAND THE VALUE OF YOUR DREAMS

A lovely Sagittarius Moon encourages us to explore new realities and encounter new people. Consider what you can learn from the lives that other people live. Our experiences are so varied and rich.

We learn so much by asking questions from a place of sincerity and curiosity about how others view and experience the world.

In early April 2014, Venus and Neptune began a new cycle. Through this cycle we are learning the deep value of our dreams. Today a Trine is formed between Venus and Neptune. We are able to deepen our own understanding and help others understand the true value of those dreams.

Consider that without the dreams, there will be no plans, and without the plans we would not move forward to bring what is most important into our lives.
Open your life with the creativity of bringing your dreams to life. Understand the importance of where you put your mind, your imagination, and your dreams!

Tuesday, October 28, 2014:

On Tuesday the Moon enters Capricorn at 6:03AM EDT bringing the playful nature of the last few days to an end. This is an emotionally serious day, a lot can be accomplished if you work hard and pay attention to the importance of where you direct your energies.

The Sun Trine Neptune at 5:48 AM EDT; this is a continuation of the energies of yesterday when Venus Trine Neptune.

Again, pay attention to your creativity. Find ways to bring your dreams to life. Remember the importance of your dreams and the attention that you give them! Monday and Tuesday are great days for creative exploration, creative endeavors, and bringing that creativity to the service of bringing your dreams to life.

Get out your art supplies; play and create beauty. Relax into those things that expand your awareness; fantasy, music, poetry, meditation! This is a day when something of value, great beauty, and/or possibly money can find its way into your life. Open your heart, watch the patterns, and prepare yourself to encounter the reality of your dreams. Creation is a beautiful thing.

Wednesday, October 29, 2014:

Wednesday would be a great day to spend alone. Life has changed a great deal since summer began! You could use some time alone to contemplate your personal transformation.

If you are in the company of others on Wednesday make it a point to be patient and kind. It would be easy to fall into aggravation, impatience, and frustration.

The Moon is in Capricorn throughout the day making hard aspects to the closing square between Pluto and Uranus. The Moon also squares Mercury; you will do well to pay attention to your conversations and understand that others may perceive you as harsh or angry.

Time alone in contemplation would be a great use of this day.

Thursday, October 30, 2014:

The moon is VOC* following a Sexile to Saturn on Wednesday night. The Moon enters Aquarius (and being the VOC) at 9:52AM EDT. The Aquarius Moon forms her First Quarter Square to the Sun at 10:49PM EDT.

Consider the New Moon Eclipse that occurred last week. If you made an aspiration or plan at the Scorpio New Moon, this is the time to take action on whatever plan you set in motion. This is the time to move forward with that plan. Determine what one action you can take that will support your motion forward on your individual path.

Friday, October 31, 2014:

This is Halloween!

The Moon is in Aquarius and it is a Friday night! This Halloween go for the costumes that are incredibly unique and unusual rather than frightening. This is a night for the unusual, and wildly unpredictable! You may be surprised to find that folks are feeling rebellious, independent, and ready to move forward in support of something that you didn’t think they would.

Determine early on in the day that nothing will surprise you! The most conservative person you know could come out with the most unconventional ideas on a day like this! Enjoy it! Keep yourself above any emotional turmoil; emotional detachment is a very valuable skill that will come easily on Friday. If you pay attention, by the end of this that you understand the usefulness and value of the Aquarian emotional detachment. This is a very valuable lesson!

Enjoy Halloween!

Saturday November 1, 2014:

Saturday brings us to a very complex day! We start out with the Moon going VOC* at 2:22AM EDT following a Square to Saturn. At 12:36PM EDT the Moon enters Pisces bringing a passive, sensitive, and mystical feel to the weekend.

Indeed this is a complicated day; a day that may bring possibilities and opportunities to the table.

Saturday morning could be an ideal time to deliver communications that may be difficult for you to speak or for the other person to hear (Mercury Sextile Jupiter). In delivering those communications keep an eye on any tendencies to exaggeration. Try to keep compassion and caring as the base of these communications. This is likely to be a conversation around letting go of something.

Keep your eyes open to opportunities for money and/or love. At 7:08PM EDT Venus Sextile Pluto empowers our sense of beauty and connection. Pay attention to the places where beauty, love, and empowerment intersect. We have the opportunity to bring powerful energies to our love relationships, and to our ability to make money, at this time!

As if that weren’t enough for one day we also have Mars Sextile Neptune! This offers the possibility of bringing the energy of strength and action to the support of our dreams and our fantasies!

Bringing these powerful opportunistic Sextiles together in this one weekend brings the consideration: (1.) Our expansive open conversations can lead to (2.) Great empowerment in our relationships, which can lead to (3.) the strength of great energy supporting and building our dreams!

Sunday, November 2, 2014:

Settle in for a dreamy Pisces Moon kind of day!

Consider that the moon sets the emotional tone for the day. When the moon is in Pisces we feel that we are swimming in emotional sensitivity, Imaginative currents, and a half patent sense of empathy.

The boundaries between us dissolved while the moon is passing to place. Our ability to connect with compassion is emphasized. This is a day to find healthy ways to escape the harsh realities of our world. The ways that people do this range from drinking or drugs through all types of addictions, meditation spirituality poetry and music. All of these things seemed to soften our harder edges, and to put us in tot’s with something outside of ourselves. If you can find water nearby; an ocean or lake, spend time there on Sunday. Movies for the theater can also expand our inner resources.

It’s easy to lose our selves in fantasy, Imagination, or simply daydreaming. If you start the day with focus on a creative project at the end of today would have something to show for this space of mind. You could also spend the day in mystical spiritual contemplation. Regardless of how you spend the day your boundaries are softened. Enjoy.

* in these weekly reports I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to it’s VOC time, as that aspect holds it’s influence throughout the VOC*
The Aspects I consider: Conjunctions, Sextiles, Squares, Trines, and Oppositions
The Planets I am working with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
*VOC (void of course) refers to the period of time between the final aspect that the Moon makes while in one sign until she enters the next sign. This can consist of several minutes or many hours. These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment; times ideally suited for rest and contemplation.

This is a big week! Between the Sun entering Scorpio and the partial Solar Eclipse (Scorpio New Moon) on Thursday, and Mercury turning Direct on Saturday this is a week that pushes up forward. We cannot keep holding onto our old life patterns and world views!

Life continues to propel us forward. Don’t try to stay safe or hold off change; move ever forward, with the aspiration of keeping the wind at your back!

Remember the Full Lunar Eclipse that occurred on Wednesday October 8th at the New Moon?

You know very well what is ending in your life. It may be a relationship, a living situation, a job; it may be an entire way of living, thinking, or being in the world. Perhaps it is one or all of these things!
Eclipses have a way of timing the endings and new beginnings in our lives. People tend to be afraid of endings. Please consider how necessary they are in our lives!

If you look clearly at what is ending, you know it is for the best. Your truest, most honest, and most joyful way of living in the world is in the direction of the doors that are opening in your life not the ones that are closing.
This Thursday we have a partial Solar Eclipse at 0 degrees Scorpio. Whereas Lunar Eclipses occur at the Full Moon, representing endings; the Solar Eclipse occurs at the New Moon, representing beginnings. Endings lead to newly opened doors. Embrace the change.

Consider this: Solar Eclipses occurred at nearly the same degree as this one in October, 1976 and October, 1995. Consider the themes that were working their way through your life at that time; how do they relate to your current life circumstances? Let what you learned through those times inform your actions and decisions now.

This week: The VOC* Moon!

Block off these times in your schedule and avoid making significant decisions or working on important projects during these times. During VOC* Moon, focus on routine tasks. You will be surprised at how this one change will smooth the edges of your life!

Monday, October 20, 2014 Moon is VOC* following a Square to Mars at 11:30PM EDT, ending at 7:12AM EDT on Tuesday, October 21st as the Moon enters Libra.

Thursday, October 23, 2014 Moon is VOC* following a Sextile to Mars at 1:22PM EDT and ending at 5:10PM EDT as the Moon enters Scorpio.

Saturday, October 25, 2014 Moon is VOC* following a Conjunction to the Saturn at 12:12PM EDT and ending on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 12:40AM EDT when the Moon enters Sagittarius.

Monday, October 20, 2014:

POSSIBILITIES BEGIN WITHIN YOUR MIND AND HEART TODAY

Monday is a day of possibilities; opportunities for the development of love /friendship, expanding your beliefs/ planning for the future, and stabilizing intense emotional patterns.

I feel good about a week that begins with the Moon in Virgo! Virgo brings with it the ability to set our own selfish needs/desires aside as we consciously choose to help others. This is a day when the choice to help others brings new possibilities to your own life. (Venus Sextile Mars) This is a day for building love and friendship; for allowing others to contribute to your life even as you are focusing on contributing to others. This energy needs an outlet. Gather with friends; spend time with loved ones, create something; tangible or intangible!

Consider issues that are larger than your everyday life today! Look to the future; this is a day to make plans. What do you want to create? Set it all in motion with the expansion of your mind. Do you want to see a new reality in your future? Your conversations, your plans and your thinking are opening those possibilities today!

Tuesday, October 21, 2014:

PAY ATTENTION

We wake to a VOC* Virgo Moon on Tuesday morning but not for long. At 7:12AM EDT the Moon enters Libra.

This is likely to be a relatively simple day as we assimilate the possibilities we began developing on Monday and the energy builds toward the New Moon on Thursday.

We are now in the Dark Phase of the Moon. Pay close attention to the whispered voice of your deepest self; spend time alone to deeply connect. Allow your passing thoughts to quiet, notice the tone of your true self.

Wednesday, October 22, 2014:

The Moon will be in Libra (and in her darkest phase) all day. Libra brings our thoughts to the engagement of cooperation and diplomacy. We feel pulled to balancing our opposing natures with others, and internally with our own, sometimes, discordant nature.

Do not let stressful and intense interactions with others to catch you off guard early in the day! You can expect to be placed face to face with whatever profound change is occurring in your life. You may have to answer to others who do not understand (and likely do not regard favorably) the direction you are moving in. Hold steady to your own personal values and the direction you know favors your deepest growth. We simply cannot please everyone who cares about us. We must follow our own course.

Wednesday evening holds much lighter energies. Spend it with a friend or loved one; have dinner together, see a movie. Explore the places that your paths intersect. Enjoy each others company. Bring kindness, consideration, and pleasant stories to the table!

Thursday, October 23, 2014:

NEW MOON: BEGINS TRANSFORMATION OF PASSION & MYSTERY

Thursday is a day to highlight on your calendar!! There is much energy peaking in intensity and empowerment.

Sun, Venus, and the Moon enter Scorpio on Thursday! The energy of Libra, which we have been working with for the past month, now moves to Scorpio! It is time to move away from an overly polite stance in our relationships to penetrating the deeper levels of transformative passion and mystery. Allow the romance or friendship to move into deeper, unexplored areas; allow the core of you to change. The coming weeks bring emotional depth and offer time for introspection. There is no point trying to gloss over the powerful, compulsive, and deeply private changes that are occurring internally. Allow yourself to be changed.

Let’s talk a bit more about today’s New Moon Solar Eclipse at 0 degrees Scorpio.

On October 8th we had a Full Lunar Eclipse at the Full Moon.
Eclipses have a way of timing the endings and new beginnings in our lives. People tend to be afraid of endings. Please consider how necessary they are in your life!

Unless you are in serious denial, I’m sure you know what is ending in your life. It may be a relationship, a living situation, a job; it may be an entire way of living, thinking, or being in the world. Perhaps it is one or all of these things!

Remember that your truest self is beyond the doors that are opening, not the ones that are being closed!

Embrace the change and consider this: Solar Eclipses occurred at nearly the same degree as today’s in October 1976 and October 1995. Consider the themes that were working their way through your life at that time; how do they relate to your current life circumstances?

Let what you learned through those times inform your actions and decisions now.

Evening Postcard by Sybil Barham

Friday, October 24, 2014:

I think we can expect to feel a bit disoriented on Friday. Thursday was such a game changer with the Scorpio New Moon Solar Eclipse and both the Sun and Venus entering Scorpio. Take time today to rest within the new reality you find yourself in. Even the most subtle changes can transform our lives. Take your transformation seriously; whatever it looks like, regardless of what anyone may think. The energy of change within this week reverberates into the future.

Take Friday to rest and dream. Now that you have the clarity of vision that you simply didn’t have as recently as last month (or even two days ago), what is the future you are going to create for yourself? Are you going to let the last chapter of your life define the rest of your life? Can you finally set all of the stories of your past behind? Can you begin to define yourself and your future from a place that begins NOW; free of the past?
The present moment has great power.

Your dreams are empowered. Encourage yourself. Encourage others. Empower others with your encouragement. Encourage others with you empowerment.

Saturday October 25, 2014:

MERCURY DIRECT!! 3:16PM EDT

Over the next few days you will see that life begins to move in more predictable ways. Our communications will become clearer and we can anticipate less frustration!
Saturday has the potential to be a very special day; we begin the day with the Sun’s vitality and warmth joining with Venus the planet of love and beauty.

Doesn’t that sound great!

Spend time with activities that feed your need for love, beauty, and appreciation. You could create something beautiful, spend time in a museum appreciating beauty, or you could shop for some beautiful thing or something that will help you create beauty in the world. Keep your eyes open and acknowledge beauty where and when you see it!
Following a conjunction to Saturn at12:12PM EDT the Scorpio Moon is VOC*. The challenges of the afternoon are directly proportionate to our ability to stabilize and secure the deep intensity of today’s emotions.

Perhaps you are stuck in longing for more than is available. Hold all that is precious in your life with a very light touch. There are no guarantees, and only pain will result from holding on too tightly.

Sunday, October 26, 2014:

Sunday we wake to the Moon in Sagittarius bringing our emotions to a more easily joyful space.
At 6:42AM EDT Mars enters Capricorn.

Mars is the planet of active, assertive energy. Mars has been in Sagittarius since mid September 2014; in Sagittarius our energy has been moving quickly and independently, wanting to explore new ideas, new adventures, new horizons.
Now Mars in Capricorn is ready to settle into a more conventional expression. We may not be as interested in wild adventures or we are more willing to take our adventures more seriously and incorporate them into the real world responsibilities of our lives. If we have been using our energies with less than full integrity we will need to change that. Between now and December 4, 2014 we must learn to understand the importance of acting with full integrity. This is not something that can be side-stepped without being sucked into fear and rigidity. During the time of Mars in Capricorn, assuming our integrity is strong, we can get a great deal accomplished! Mars in Capricorn = Nose to the grindstone! Strong and steady; get it done!!

This week everything seems possible. The struggles of the past months may not be resolved but for the moment we set them aside.

Without further ado….

This week: The VOC* Moon!

Block off these times in your schedule and avoid making significant decisions or working on important projects during these times. During VOC* Moon, focus on routine tasks. You will be surprised at how this one change will smooth the edges of your life!

Monday, October 13, 2014 Moon is VOC* following a Trine to Mercury at 1:58PM EDT, ending at 7:30PM EDT as the Moon enters Cancer.

Wednesday, October 15, 2014 Moon is VOC* following a Square to Mercury at 7:27PM EDT and ending at 6:29AM EDT on Thursday October 16, 2014 as the Moon enters Leo.

Saturday, October 18, 2014 Moon is VOC* following a Sextile to the Sun at 9:10AM EDT and ending at 7:08PM EDT when the Moon enters Virgo.

Monday, October 13, 2014:

It may surprise you how easy it is to get up and get moving toward work on Monday morning. The Gemini Moon fuels our curiosity and our drive toward interpersonal communications. Go ahead, get interested in the lives others are living. Ask questions; others will be delighted to engage.

The Moon Trine both Mercury and the Sun allows the drive for communication to truly open a flow of energy to whatever we put our attention on. With the Moon Opposing Mars this morning it is easy to push our drive and ambition forward to what needs our attention. At 1:58PM EDT, following a Trine to Mercury, the Moon turns VOC* until she enters Cancer at 7:30 PM EDT.

Monday will be a good evening to spend close to home with your closest loved ones. Nurture those you love with good food and the warmth of your shared history.

Tuesday, October 14, 2014:

Looking back just a few months to the powerful ‘Cycle of Love’: Jupiter and Venus.

On August 18, 2014 a new cycle between them began. Something of value expanded within your mind, your heart, and/or your life. The energy between yourself and a new friend or lover expanded, perhaps there was an opening of financial energy, in some way you felt your world-view enlarge with pleasure.

Consider what you have learned, since then, through that expansion. A lot has changed in this short time. Today we are presented with an opportunity to increase or build on that expansion. We are still in the early stages of this cycle and nothing is certain. If you are presented with an opportunity now, simply say: YES.

A Sextile between Venus and Jupiter suggests that any opportunities offered now are moving us in the direction of increasing the pleasure and value that began in mid-August. Don’t pass up what is presented.

The Moon spends the day in Cancer making contact, this evening, with both Pluto and Uranus. I picture us, all too easily, entering into a state of nostalgia. We are unsettled with our current circumstance, which are still in flux. Our emotional insecurity pushes us into looking to the past for comfort (nostalgia).

Keep in mind that the past is gone, the future calls. We all need a bit of extra kindness this evening. Remember to give kindness to those around you, unreservedly.

Wednesday, October 15, 2014:

Today let’s talk about the Cycle of Passion and Assertive Action.

Consider passion and direct assertive action. The Cycle between Mars and the Sun began in mid-April, 2013. What action did you take it that time? What was the driving passion of your life?

The Fife Player by Edouard Manet (1832-1883)

The Fife Player by Edouard Manet (1832-1883)

Whatever began at that time has taken much of your time, attention, and hard work over these past 18 months. Many mistakes have been made along this path. Remember that mistakes are how we learn.

If you are able to remember what began in mid April 2013, consider the mistakes that you have made pursuing that path. Consider what those mistakes have taught you. The New Cycle between Mars and the Sun begins in June 2015. Between now and then you have time to plan for the next push of direct action toward the fulfillment of your personal passion. Prepare now for the New Cycle by releasing the mistakes and the projects that are clearly not serving you at this time.

If you have been chasing rabbits down rabbit holes now is the time to stop. Let go of everything that will not serve the Next Cycle, be ready next June to pursue your deepest passions. Release what isn’t working, carefully research what will support the next forward push!

Third Quarter Moon on Wednesday suggests an edge between our need to nurture and heal others and our desire to create calm, stillness, and peace. With this aspect as well, we are letting go in order to make space for the next Cycle.

Moon is void of course following a square to Mercury at 7:27 PM EDT. Please have a quiet evening, do not engage in intellectual, relational, aggravation. The importance of time alone is suggested.

Thursday, October 16, 2014:

On Thursday at 6:29AM EDT the Moon enters playful, expressive Leo!

This could be an important day for significant Communications. With the Libra Sun conjunct Mercury (yes Mercury is still retrograde) our thinking mind is highly activated. The Sun and Mercury are both in Libra; the thoughts and communications that are calling to us, seek diplomacy, calm, and peace within our dramatically changing relationships. Mercury(retrograde) is also Sextile Mars(in Sagittarius).

Freedom calls; each of us in the situation understand the reality of what has transpired over the past months. Today we are able to have productive and REAL conversations. Things that normally would be difficult to say are more easily expressed now. However, do remember that Mercury is retrograde.

Keep clarity on what is said and how it is understood. Because this conversation is likely to be about re-negotiation, it is fine to have it during Mercury Retrograde. Don’t make decisions from these conversations… just open the door… more talk will follow if you take that first step now.

Friday, October 17, 2014:

Friday looks like a lovely day/a lovely evening.

Enjoy the energy of this day; go out on the town, see live music, go to a show, mingle with people who will expand your way of viewing the world! Do not go to the same restaurant you always go to with the same friends you always go with! No! No! No! This is a day for something new; throw in some excitement, playfulness, and fun! Today’s Leo Moon makes lovely aspects to Uranus and Jupiter. Uranus adds excitement, the unusual, and the unexpected! Jupiter adds a sense of expansion and idealism. The people you meet today could make a lovely impact on your life; pay attention!

Saturday October 18, 2014:

If you are reading this post early in the week be sure to make special plans for the weekend! This is a very pleasant and special Saturday! The Moon is moving through Leo all day! In the course of the morning she makes lovely aspects to Venus, Mars, and the Sun. We will likely want to engage with others on Saturday, this is a very social day! The energy of Leo loves to be seen!

This weekend we are able to allow ourselves to fully express the internal reality of who we truly are! This is NOT a day to hide your light under a barrel.

At 9:10AM EDT, following a Sextile to the Sun, the Leo Moon is VOC* until moving into Virgo at 7:08PM EDT.

The day holds the potential to be active, social, and fun! By evening you will probably want to settle into a quieter routine; alone or with a few close friends.

Sunday, October 19, 2014:

Sunday brings us to the end of a week that has likely been much easier than many we have encountered recently.

On Sunday the Virgo Moon encourages us to get the practical tasks of our lives handled before moving forward into another week!

But before we get into the part of accomplishing anything we can allow ourselves to move slowly into the day. Early in the morning Neptune Opposes the Moon. You will probably want to stay within the space of dreams as long as possible. Go ahead and do that! Sleep late, get up slowly, put on beautiful music, enjoy a morning of calm.

By afternoon the Moon Trine Pluto moves us to accomplish practical tasks that must be done. Prepare for the upcoming week; clean the house, do the laundry, do some meal preparation. This is a great day for practical accomplishment.

I would love to hear from you about how you are doing with the Mercury Retrograde! If you have your chart and know where Mercury is moving, let me know how the house placement is represented in your experience.

Remember!

Do not listen to the negativity you are likely to hear regarding Mercury Retrograde. This is a time that can be well utilized as long as you simply follow a few rules.

#1. Do not start new projects!
#2. Do not begin new agreements

#3. Do not start new communications (if the conversation has not begun before now, do not begin it until Mercury goes direct).

#4. Sort through the information and projects left undone on your desk and in your mind; make a list of everything that needs to be completed

#5. Focus all your attention on the list you just made

#6. Plan on needing more time than usual; adjust and schedule your time accordingly

#7. Be profoundly patient with yourself and others

This is a very powerful week. Our lives will be profoundly impacted, and our lives moved ahead in the area of our charts that hold the Uranus Pluto cycle.

Yes we have talked about this cycle for several years now! By next Summer the energy of this Square Transit (between Uranus and Pluto) will finally be behind us and we will be free to begin the long path of rebuilding our lives and the parts of our culture and world that will continue needing much love and attention.

This week’s VOC* Moon!

Block off these times in your schedule and avoid making significant decisions or working on important projects during these times. During VOC* Moon, focus on routine tasks. You will be surprised at how this one change will smooth the edges of your life!

Monday, October 6, 2014 Moon is VOC* following a Trine to Saturn at 3:38PM EDT, ending at 6:07AM EDT on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 as the Moon enters Aries.

Wednesday, October 8, 2014 Moon is VOC* following a Trine to Jupiter at 10:20AM EDT and ending 7:43AM EDT on Thursday October 9, 2014 as the Moon enters Taurus.

Friday, October 10, 2014 Moon is VOC* following an Opposition to Saturn at 8:48PM EDT and ending at 11:50AM EDT on Saturday October 11, 2014 when the Moon enters Gemini.

Monday, October 6, 2014:

On an emotional level this is a relatively simple day to ease back into the routine ‘work week’. The Moon is in Pisces throughout the day making a Square to Mars early in the morning.

This gives us a good push toward accomplishment and sufficient energy to get things done. At 3:38PM EDT the Moon Trine Saturn, before going VOC* until early Tuesday morning. Spend the afternoon in dreams or contemplation. Practice kindness.

Tuesday, October 7, 2014:

At 6:07 AM EDT the Moon enters Aries offering a fiery determination to the actions of this day.

At 4:57 PM EDT the Sun opposes Uranus completing his (the Sun’s) illumination of the tension within the Uranus – Pluto Square that we have been dealing with for so long. Consider the excitement, new ideas, unusual, or unexpected experiences that began in early April 2014.

The Cycle (Sun – Uranus) that began at that time is now able to release its full creativity. We are able to see how far we have come; we see clearly the success or failure of the project that started at that time. Have we made full use of the opportunity that began at that time? Our vision now holds clarity; we are ready to reap the benefits or release the project.

Where is your internal Rebel fully engaged and prepared for what must be faced at this time? What clarity are you able to see in the bigger transformation that is occurring within your life?

Look at the revolutions, upheaval, and intense battles and transformations around the world today. You don’t have to look very far! How is your personal life reflected within this larger cultural chaos?

Remember, the planets do not make things happen in our lives. The cycles of the planets simply reflect back to us the cycles of our own lives. We cannot blame the planets for the changes in our lives, any more than we can blame the mirror for the changes we see in our reflection each morning.

Wednesday, October 8, 2014:

Full Moon

Do you have planets between 13°and 17° of Fire Signs (Aries, Leo, Sagittarius) or Cardinal Signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, Capricorn)? These are sensitive points highlighted by the Aries Full Moon. Anticipate intensification of feelings and emotional reactions. Do whatever it is that helps you to manage strong emotions.

With the Moon in Aries a solitary run, hike, or skydiving may help! Aries must learn individual courage and is not a team player. Allow the Aries Moon to support you to push forward on your own in a direction that scares you! On the other side of fear is empowerment if you only push through.

Individual and humanitarian issues of freedom are highlighted with this Full Moon due to the proximity of Uranus in the configuration. What have you managed to accomplish over the past two weeks in terms of stabilizing your relationships, your finances, and your ability to diplomatically manage your situation? How far have you been able to bring those issues forward over these past two weeks?

As the day progresses, stop pushing; breathe deeply and observe where you find yourself. Sometimes the very process of quietly witnessing our situation can bring change to the entire dynamic.

At 10:20AM EDT, following a Trine to Jupiter, the Moon will be VOC* until early Thursday morning.

At 1:32PM EDT Venus Square Pluto; turmoil, anxiety, and perhaps even, destruction of our love relationships and finances are highlighted. This is the time to stop and reconsider the direction you have been moving regarding what began in mid November 2013.

Within the course of our lives we can expect to build things that later need to be deconstructed. Often times we hold on beyond the time that it is appropriate to let go. Seek clarity in what must be released. Amazing things and people move through our lives, enriching us deeply. Regardless of how precious they may be, ultimately we must open our hands to release them. Do so with honor and love.

At 4:42PM EDT Mars trine Jupiter; powerfully activating the Fire Grand Trine between Mars, Jupiter, and Uranus. This reflects a great deal of excitement and positive trust toward irrevocable action. The cycle between Mars and Jupiter began in July of 2013. Perhaps you felt the need to fight for your beliefs, to promote yourself in some manner, or to expand the direction or depth of your sexuality. Whatever began at that time has changed a great deal and the energy gathered since that time is available as a free flow of energy that can propel you forward. Expansive action moves us forward with great energy.

Thursday, October 9, 2014:

At 7:43AM EDT the Moon enters Taurus. Let us anticipate that this Taurus Moon will bring a bit of calm to the intensity of the week.

Between the Sun’s interaction with Uranus and Pluto in the past week and Venus interacting with Pluto yesterday and Uranus on Saturday, we are in the midst of deep intensity, upheaval, struggle, and/or excitement as we move steadily toward a new life.

For Thursday, however, you can take a break and simply rest.

Taurus need to be able to keep everything stable and calm regardless of what is happening in the general vicinity, to be unflappable in the midst of chaos.

For this evening I would highly recommend quiet time at home with a good movie, a time of meditation, or having friends over for cocktails or a glass of wine.

Do what you can to make this calm more workable to those in your world. Offer a new perspective to everyone who you encounter.

Friday, October 10, 2014:

On Friday Mercury retrogrades back into Libra after having been in Scorpio since September 27th (two weeks ago). Following several weeks of our minds delving into areas of private introspection and/or deep obsession we turn out thinking back to relationships, cooperation, and diplomacy. We are encouraged to relook at ways to bring more balance to our thoughts and minds. Mercury will continue, retrograde until October 25th and will remain in Libra until November 8th.

With the Sun forming a Sextile to Jupiter the Fire Grand trine is activated which adds much needed energy and excitement to the day. Looking to the start of the Sun – Jupiter cycle (which began on July 24th) consider what was rapidly in a growth phase at that time. If something was presented or begun at that time, now you can sink yourself into researching the project that was suggested then and will be acted upon in mid December.

The Moon continues through Taurus on Friday, forming an Opposition to Saturn at 8:48PM EDT, followed by a VOC* until the Moon enters Gemini on Saturday morning.

Saturday October 11, 2014:

Don’t be surprised if you wake Saturday morning with anxiety about the viability of your current relationship status and/or financial status. Concerns are well founded as these are areas that are certainly in flux and will continue to transform over the coming months. You may be surprised to feel emotionally detached from your loved ones. The need for space and freedom may be overwhelming and hard to understand or accept. This energy can often be projected onto our partners and we can be distraught that they seem removed and cool toward us. Please do not take this personally. We all need time for individual growth and we all need space and freedom to develop the truth of who we are.

We long for the extraordinary, the unusual, and the unconventional within the context of our love relationships. We seek freedom at all cost! Finding the balance between freedom and connection is a challenge for all of us. Uranus pushes us to seek the avant-garde. Our ideas and thoughts on relationships may seem unusual, pioneering, innovative, and experimental.

Engage in conversations with others about the unique path that relationship has taken in their lives. We grow up in a world that presents us with very conservative and restrictive ideas about relationships. Go ahead, we really can make our own rules. There are many ways to love. Today is a day to consider what will make your heart sing even as you take a path less traveled.

Sunday, October 12, 2014:

The Moon is in Gemini all day on Sunday without stressful aspects. Gemini Moon loves to spend the day in simple pleasures of exploration! Explore thoughts and ideas with friends. Gather together with casual acquaintances and friends.

Discuss the less traveled path of relationships that we talked about with Saturday’s connection between Venus and Uranus.

This is not the day to deal with the deep challenges we will face in our newly defined relationships. This is a day to simply discuss the thoughts, ideas, and new perspectives on a level of surface curiosity. Invite your friends to gather, enjoy the perspective others bring to the table. Share your ideas and experiences. Stories help us to understand our selves and our place in the world.

These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment; times ideally suited for rest and contemplation

Mercury turns retrograde at 2° Scorpio – Saturday afternoon at 1:02 PM EDT

There are times that it seems relatively easy to get a feel for the energies that are moving through us as reflected by the planetary cycles.

I tend to look at the more positive side of these cycles. I believe that we must be available to the positive expression of these transits to manifest in our lives. Focusing on the negative allows the wrong doors to swing open in our lives. Some weeks, months, and years are easier to do this than others.

In current time the mix of energies is quite extreme. You may be more strongly impacted by one of these energies, by the other, or by both simultaneously.

If your personal life is being impacted most strongly by the Fire Trine (Jupiter in Leo, Uranus in Aries, Mars in Sagittarius) your experience is bound to express itself as excitement, unexpected change, and/ or extreme anxiety. You may feel that you are residing in an electrified environment; for good or for bad.

If your personal life is being impacted more strongly by the ongoing Square between Uranus and Pluto (still!), your experience is more likely to express itself through power dynamics, intense transformation, issues of control, perhaps even issues of violence and/or shame.

It is important to remember that, depending on our individual chart/ personality makeup, different energies feel very different to different people.

I may find Uranus transits to be incredibly exciting and yet struggle terribly with Pluto transits; you, on the other hand, may struggle terribly with the anxiety of Uranus transits and deeply enjoy the depth and power of Pluto transits.

We are complex humans who respond to different energies from the perspective of our own internal makeup.

This week: The VOC* Moon!

Block off these times in your schedule and avoid making significant decisions or working on important projects during these times. During VOC* Moon, focus on routine tasks. You will be surprised at how this one change will smooth the edges of your life!

Monday, September 29, 2014 Moon is VOC* following a Trine to Jupiter at 11:29PM EDT, ending at 12:41AM EDT on Wednesday, October 1, 2014 as the Moon enters Capricorn. This gives us the entire day on Tuesday September 30 with the VOC* Moon. Wow!

Thursday, October 2, 2014 Moon is VOC* following a Sextile to Saturn at 12:18PM EDT and ending 3:59AM EDT on Friday October 3, 2014 as the Moon enters Aquarius.

Saturday, October 4, 2014 Moon is VOC* following a Square to Saturn at 2:31PM EDT and ending at 5:24 AM EDT on Sunday October 5, 2014 when the Moon enters Pisces.

Monday, September 29, 2014:

We do not want to go to work Monday morning with the Moon in Sagittarius. We long to extend the freedom of the weekend into the first few days of the week. As the Moon moves through Sagittarius she activates the Grand Trine Energy in Fire (Uranus in Aries, Jupiter in Leo, Mars in Sagittarius).

Expect a highly active day, a day in which you can activate great excitement and wild changes. There is no need to hold anything back on Monday!

The flow of energy is hot, vibrant, and expansive! Whatever you began at last week’s New Moon is highly activated and growing! Take advantage of this energy to move your life forward!

At 4:52 PM EDT Venus leaves behind the precision and refinement of Virgo and enters Libra. Venus rules Libra and is delighted with the time she spends here (until October 23).

Consider the harmony, balance, love, and beauty you wish to develop in your life and your relationships. How diplomatically can you present your values to others?

Time spent in consideration of your personal sense of beauty, partnership, and resources is time well spent today.
Make a point to create something beautiful in even one small corner of your home, your office, or your heart.

Tuesday, September 30, 2014:

Tuesday marks an interesting day! On Monday, shortly before midnight, the Moon made her final aspect (Trine Jupiter) before going VOC*.

This VOC* period continues until Wednesday morning at 12:41AM EDT!

This presents us with an entire day of no major planetary aspects. This happens infrequently and can be considered a gift; a time that we can sit back and relax in this point of cosmic calm. In the ideal world you could take the day off from work; sit by the ocean, go to a movie, or play with your grandchildren! A day meant for rejuvenation!

Wednesday, October 1, 2014:

On Wednesday we awake with the Moon in Capricorn, a day that seems to be perfectly provided to make up for our lack of accomplishment on Tuesday. This is a day of serious ambition, effort, and work!

The First Quarter Moon is exact at 3:33PM EDT, encouraging us to consider what we began at the Libra New Moon (24 September). It is time to take action, moving in the direction you aspired to at the New Moon. What action is needed in order for that seed to grow healthy and strong?

We are coming close to Mercury’s retrograde (Saturday). If you haven’t already, now is the time to make sure your computers are backed up, any car repairs are complete, and all systems are go for the three weeks of Mercury Retrograde (October 4 – October 25). We will have more conversation about the Mercury Retrograde over the coming days.

When we consider the accomplishment and ambition of Capricorn it is important to remind ourselves that the serious energy of this Sign must be firmly focused on the accomplishment itself and not on seeking accolades for the self. Remember that in order for Capricorn to be healthy there must be a very high level of personal integrity. Without integrity Capricorn turns bitter, cold, and uncaring. As you allow ambition to move you forward be very clear on your own personal integrity. Remember, it is not about anyone else’s beliefs it is only your own integrity that matters.

Thursday, October 2, 2014:

You may notice a certain amount of anxiety Thursday morning as the Capricorn Moon squares Uranus, following her connection with Pluto Wednesday evening. This is, once again, a simple reminder that the transformation required of us is still in process.

The ongoing Pluto Square Uranus transit, which began in June of 2012, still has two more impact points: one in December 2014 and one in March 2015.

How is the personal transformation, that is required in your own life, proceeding? Sit with this simple consideration on Thursday. What serious steps do you need to take to bring this transformation to its natural conclusion?

Remember, as much as you are on your own individual path of transformation, you are not alone! Few are escaping the requirement for major life change.

Sure, it looks very different in our individual lives. But no matter what it looks like or what area of our lives is being transformed, we really are all in this together. Consider this when you meet strangers on the street, your mechanic, and the cashier behind the counter at the grocery store! We are all on this path and are all a bit uncertain about the way forward. We are not complete yet. Be kind to everyone you meet.

At 12:18 PM EDT the Capricorn Moon forms a Sextile aspect to Saturn (the planet of integrity and hard work). The Moon will be VOC* from this point until early Friday morning.

Thursday afternoon spend time contemplating your final steps along this journey. There is no need for immediate action; there is deep requirement for contemplation, self-respect, and determination to reach your inner deepest goals. How differently will your life look in another year when the Uranus-Pluto transformation is complete?

Friday, October 3, 2014:

When you wake on Friday morning notice that the heaviness from Thursday has been lifted. Relief!

The Moon is now in Aquarius, allowing some distance from the heavy emotional weight of the past several days. This is a great day to exercise your ability to imagine the future with more freedom for yourself and others.

Social issues of the wider community are likely to frame the day. Consider carefully how your life experience is moving humanity toward more freedom and expression of individuality. How can your life be an example of freedom to the lives of others? Do we ever really understand the importance of the example we present to others? Every time we allow freedom for ourselves, we allow others to see the path to freedom a little clearer. Every time we close ourselves into a small box we tell others it is not safe to go outside.

Please allow your full expression to provide an example to bring humanity to deep new levels of understanding.

This is a day to encounter and express deep love and understanding of our human condition. Individual love takes a backseat to our desire to encounter the true love of community.

Saturday October 4, 2014:

Mercury turns retrograde!

We have felt it coming… and here is: Mercury turns retrograde (2° Scorpio) at 1:02 PM EDT! For the next three weeks you can accomplish a great deal if you focus on projects that have been left undone since the time of the last Mercury retrograde in July 2014.

Do not listen to the intense negativity you will hear regarding Mercury Retrograde. This is a time that can be well utilized as long as you simply follow a few rules.

  • do not start new projects!
  • do not begin new agreements
  • do not start new communications (if the conversation has not begun before now, do not begin it until Mercury goes direct).
  • sort through the information and projects left undone on your desk and in your mind; make a list of everything that needs to be completed
  • focus all your attention on the list you just made
  • plan on needing more time than usual; adjust and schedule your time accordingly
  • be profoundly patient with yourself and others

There is more significance to this day besides Mercury turning retrograde. At 4:05 AM EDT the Sun forms an exact Square to Pluto. The energy of this aspect (which is in clear evidence throughout the week) shows us the importance of power and enables the illumination of what has been long hidden. Long-standing taboos and secrets hold power over our lives and our souls. Illuminating our secrets requires great courage and proves to be the key to our deepest personal empowerment.

My teacher, Noel Tyl, refers to the image of the blanket over a hand grenade in speaking of the contact between the Sun and Pluto. There are two ways that I consider this image. Think of the hand grenade as something about to explode and the blanket holding it down and keeping us safe. Alternatively we can think of the hand grenade as our deepest empowerment and the blanket the fear that keeps us from utilizing our power. Perhaps they are one and the same; the blanket is our fear that we imagine as our protection. Do we peek cautiously under that blanket in fear of the explosion or do we tear the blanket off, fast like a bandage, allowing the pain to be released quickly into the universe?

Consider the theme of secrets, exposure, vulnerability, and empowerment. Remember your deepest empowerment is often hidden away along with your shame and secrets.

Also, the Moon becomes VOC* following a square to Saturn at 2:31 PM EDT. The afternoon offers the time for contemplation of your most profound depths.

Sunday, October 5, 2014:

By the time we get up on Sunday morning the Moon has entered Pisces. This should prove to be a dreamy day with an edge; or perhaps it would be better to think of it as an edgy day with a dream.

Mars Trine Uranus at 12:17 AM EDT

Consider back to the spring of 2013 when Uranus and Mars connected at 8° Aries. The cycle between them, which began at that time, is important for us to consider now. This cycle brings to mind action, sexuality, drive, and revolutionary action, strong, deliberate, and decisive action.

What firm significant action did you take in the spring of 2013? What have you learned about the flow of powerful energy within your body, your soul, and your mind since that time? Allow a powerful free flow of that energy now.

This brings us into orb of a very powerful Fire Grand Trine. We are empowered to engage with courage and assertiveness in profound ways and in many areas of our lives. Don’t allow negative aggression or ego to get in the way of this energy. Use this energy to connect deeply with generosity and love.

Portrait of bird-of-paradise, impatiens, and calla lily flowers 1947

We start the week with big shifts that must be managed efficiently. I hope you got enough rest over the weekend!

On Monday Pluto turns direct after being retrograde since April 2014. Do you remember the Grand Cardinal Cross in April? During the intensity of that time you required privacy in order for the transformation that was required of you.

As Pluto turns direct this week, the door we closed at that time, opens and our transformation comes into the light of day. We feel a newly tentative security regarding our transformation; we are ready to accept and face the change.

Here in the Northern Hemisphere Monday is the Autumnal Equinox; in the Southern Hemisphere it is the Spring Equinox. Because I am in the northern hemisphere I will speak of it from this perspective.

The Equinox occurs at the moment the Sun crosses the celestial equator. The Earth’s axis generally tilts either away from, or toward the Sun. However, at the time of the Equinoxes, Fall & Spring, the Earth’s axis is perpendicular to the Sun’s rays. These times are called equinox to represent the fact that night and day are equal in time.

As the Sun leaves Virgo behind to enter Libra our deepest energy turns toward creating balance and partnership to support our lives as we move forward.

This week begins in the Dark of the Moon and Wednesday bringing us to the New Moon in Libra.

Take the time to prepare a ritual to bring diplomacy, love, and beauty into your life. If you are seeking more connection with others, your best bet is to create beauty around you. Both internal and external beauty will attract love and connection.

Mercury enters Scorpio on Saturday as our minds turn toward the underworld and the changing of the seasons. Our thoughts anxiously seek out the intensity our ongoing transformation requires.

This week’s VOC* Moon!

Block off these times in your schedule and avoid making significant decisions or working on important projects during these times. During VOC* Moon, focus on routine tasks. You will be surprised at how this one change will smooth the edges of your life!

Tuesday, September 23, 2014 Moon is VOC* following a Conjunction to Venus at 8:58AM EDT, ending at 12:01AM EDT on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 as the Moon enters Libra.

Friday, September 26, 2014 Moon is VOC* following a Conjunction to Mercury at 8:39AM EDT and ending 10:29AM EDT as the Moon enters Scorpio.

Sunday, September 28, 2014 Moon is VOC* following a Sextile to Venus at 4:31PM EDT and ending at 6:49PM EDT when the Moon enters Sagittarius.

Monday, September 22, 2014:

Pluto, having been retrograde since April 2014, now turns direct! Doors that have been firmly closed since mid-April (remember the Grand Cardinal Cross?) will open over the coming days. We now have the opportunity to get a clear view of the parts of your life that have been transformed behind closed doors in the past 5 months! Look to the area of 11degrees Capricorn in your horoscope to get an idea of where this transformation has occurred.

At 10:28PM EDT the Sun enters Libra. Following a month of the Sun in analytical efficient Virgo hour energy now turns toward a desire to balance and socialize our lives in a more harmonious and cooperative fashion. As we move toward the winter months we seek romance and partnership. Our creative energies increase as does our desire to surround ourselves with beauty.

Tuesday, September 23, 2014:

Tuesday the Moon is in Virgo, VOC* following her Conjunction to Venus at 8:15 AM EDT. This can be an extremely productive day as long as you stick with routine tasks and not put this energy into a new project or something you are trying to build. This is great energy of maintenance and energy to get routine tasks accomplished. With the Moon in Virgo we are able to see and understand the potential of our situation. It is important to remember to be kind to self and keep our expectations practical. The potential we see ahead requires time and self-care to reach. Do not be critical of where you find yourself today. Always plot the path forward with kindness and full awareness the reason for reaching this potential is for the service of others.

A great time to focus inward, here at the Dark of the Moon; take time alone for contemplation.

Wednesday, September 24, 2014:

Long before we wake on Wednesday morning the Moon will have entered Libra and reached her New Moon phase. This begins a new cycle, an opportunity to reconnect with love and partnership. Carefully consider the seed you are planting at this time. Find time alone to contemplate how you wish to create more co-operative, diplomatic, and graceful partnerships with others. Consider not only your romantic relationships, but also your domestic partnerships, your business partnerships, and your closest friends. Within this range of intimate relationships where do you need to focus on growth in the coming month? Set an intention, an aspiration, and a plan!

Thursday, September 25, 2014:

Oh, what can I say about this day?? I love this energy! Jupiter at 14 degrees Leo Trine Uranus at 14 degrees Aries! These two planets of expansion and excitement began their current cycle in the summer of 2010 at 0 degrees Aries. If you have planets in the Fire Signs (Aries, Leo, or Sagittarius) between 12 – 16 degrees you will be most powerfully impacted!

There is no choice but to change and grow as the energy flows freely between these two! Can you feel the excitement in every fiber of your being?

Due to the retrograde of Jupiter, this energy will be with us for nearly a year, bringing us direct ‘hits’ now, again in March 2015, and finally in June 2015.

Having a direct hit now along with Wednesday’s Libra New Moon we can anticipate our relationships will not fit with the expectations of conventional mores. We long for independence, intensification, and originality in how we create our lives and our most intimate relationships. Watch as those around you defiantly make their own rules; allow yourself to make the rules that work best for you, your partners, and your life. Celebrate the ability to move outside the boxes prescribed! This transit is exact today has been impacting us for some months and will deeply color our lives for the better part of the upcoming year. Expect big irreversible changes in your most conventional and traditional connections!

Friday, September 26, 2014:

Keep your eyes open to the ways that the world is expanding in its understanding and acceptance of eccentricity and non-conformist ways of being in the world. We are all given the opportunity to open our minds and accept the many varieties of human experience. As we come to understand and accept others, we can offer that same acceptance to our selves, as well.

Friday starts with the Moon still in Libra; following a conjunction to Mercury at 8:39AM EDT, she is VOC* until she enters Scorpio at 10:29AM EDT. The rest of the day we are asked to go deep in contemplating emotional power/ empowerment. Our connection to others wants to go into deep places. Light superficial interactions are of no interest. Connect with those you are able to get real and go deep with. Open yourself to vulnerability. If you are tempted by drink or drugs consider that you may be avoiding the depth and vulnerability necessary to move your relationships forward. Go deep; be vulnerable.

Saturday September 27, 2014:

This Saturday bring us a deeply intense and powerful Scorpio Moon.

Secrets could easily come to light as Mercury enters Scorpio also at 6:39PM EDT. What is below the surface, hidden away in hopes that it will not upset the equilibrium you have tried so hard to maintain? Is it worth it? What unknown harm is done to the soul when we are not honest about who we are, when we keep our desires hidden?

As Mercury moves into Scorpio we begin to consider the depth and hidden forces of the underworld. What is in that hidden place in our own heart? We may run in fear, and yet, it is always in those places of deep intensity, fear, and power that our most precious resources exist. Consider that once we dig below our fear we come to the richest soil, the compost.

Sunday, September 28, 2014:

We may be even less interested, or capable, of engaging in polite surface interactions on Sunday morning. Perhaps we feel a bit emotionally hung over and even anxious for the weekend to be over.

At 4:31PM EDT the energy loosens up a bit with a Sextile to Venus. Following that final aspect the Moon becomes VOC* until she enters Sagittarius at 6:49PM EDT.

Enjoy the evening, probably the easiest part of the weekend. We are finally ready to look outside of ourselves and engage in more positive interactions. Gather with friends. Look at the world from a more expansive perspective. Watch a movie that expands your intellect and your heart.

It has been an amazingly busy weekend ! The post may be a bit abbreviated but  looks like we have a relatively simple week to enjoy!

The Wind by Karl Hofer

This week’s VOC* Moon!

Block off these times in your schedule and avoid making significant decisions or trying to work on important projects during these times. During VOC* Moon, focus on routine tasks. You will be surprised at how this one change will smooth the edges of your life!

Monday, September 15, 2014 Moon is VOC* following a Square to the Sun at 10:05PM EDT, ending at 11:24AM EDT on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 as the Moon enters Cancer.

Thursday, September 18, 2014 Moon is VOC* following a Sextile to the Sun at 2:38PM EDT and ending 11:10PM EDT as the Moon enters Leo.

Sunday, September 21, 2014 Moon is VOC* following a Sextile to Mercury at 12:34AM EDT and ending at 11:54AM EDT when the Moon enters Virgo.

Monday, September 15, 2014:

Monday is a great day to explore options, ask questions, and engaged your deepest curiosity. Suggest unusual ideas and offer new perspectives.

The week starts with the Moon in Gemini. We may feel restless and flirtatious, enthusiastic and alert. Our emotions may seem highly unstable and deeply exciting.

Do you remember the anxiety or excitement that was on your mind and within your communications last Saturday? On Monday we encounter the same excitement or anxiety although with a more positive and uplifted energy. At 10:05 PM EDT the Gemini Moon reaches its Third Quarter Square followed by a VOC* Moon which will last until Tuesday morning at 11:24 AM EDT. A good night to get to sleep early and enjoy the dreams that arise!

Tuesday, September 16, 2014:

Tuesday begins with the Moon VOC* until she enters Cancer at 11:24AM EDT. Don’t rush to the office as your best work won’t be done until after 11:30AM EDT on Tuesday morning. The day begins slowly; your best bet is to stick to routine tasks until afternoon.

Even then your work may be compromised by the trine between the Moon and Neptune. Allow your imagination to rule the day. Tuesday we will do best to work with our lives through the perspective of intuition, imagination, and the surreal. Do not put hard edges on this day. Allow softness, listen to music that will transport you, spend time in meditation. Open to the mystical and what is unseen.

Wednesday, September 17, 2014:

On Wednesday, you can anticipate the need to look more directly at the reality of your situation then you have over the past few days. The Cancer Moon makes difficult aspects to the Square between Pluto and Uranus. Once again it is important that we step back and look at the transformation that has been active in our lives, and on the greater world stage, since the summer of 2012. Simply take a bit of time to appreciate how far your life has brought you since that time.

I don’t often talk about Chiron, but today we must note the opposition between Venus and Chiron. The cycle between them began in April; yes, right in the middle of the Grand Cardinal Cross.

Consider where, in your life, and in your heart, you encountered a sense of being broken in April. At that time, perhaps for the first time, you understood that healing was possible. On Wednesday we reach the opposition between Venus and Chiron, suggesting that you are able to see the reality, the possibility, and the agent of your healing. Your job today is to look directly into the heart of your own woundedness and see the gift of healing that is offered. You may not understand this but that healing gift is already in your hands; offer thanks and accept this gift of healing.

Thursday, September 18, 2014:

Get out of bed 20 minutes earlier today! It will help to smooth some of the early-morning anxiety of getting the family out the door to work and school. The Moon is in moody, emotional Cancer throughout the day making a final aspect (sextile to the Sun) at 2:38PM EDT. With that energy holding steady, the Moon is VOC* until 11:10PM EDT when the Moon enters dramatic, expressive Leo.

Any projects or tasks of importance need to be completed early in the day. The afternoon provides us with an excuse to rest, recuperate, and complete mundane tasks.

Friday, September 19, 2014:

This is a day meant for open expression and playfulness. If you have children in your life take time to focus yourself within that simple Space of childhood. Turn your living room into a tent fort, put on a puppet show! Pretend every interaction is a staged performance! Encounter, and joyfully accept, the largeness of your own heart! Bring generosity to everyone you encounter.

Friday evening would be a great night to go to a show, a concert, or the theater! Go out with friends, have a party! This is a great evening for socialization, for expressing your true nature, for giving and receiving appreciation!

Saturday September 20, 2014:

Saturday continues the expressive pleasures of Friday. The Moon continues through the extroverted and flamboyant sign of Leo. The most negative side of Leo is the tendency toward arrogance and a prideful nature. I had an astrologer once tell me that Leo is loud and arrogant because it is the one sign that deep inside worries the most about its worthiness. The early part of the day brings with it a great deal of excitement as the Moon conjuncts Jupiter and Trine Uranus! Seek out a worthy stage for your performance this morning! Find a way to deeply express a spark of your creativity from within. The later part of the day may become a bit weighted down with concern, caution, and pessimism.

Make it a point to spend at least a few hours on Saturday alone. Solitude will allow the shift from exuberance to a deeper sense of responsibility.

Sunday, September 21, 2014:

Sunday is the most complicated day of the week! The Moon makes a final aspect (sextile Mercury) at 12:34AM EDT. This ushers us into a VOC* that lasts until 11:54AM EDT when the Moon enters Virgo.

At 9:02AM EDT Venus Sextile Saturn; Venus represents beauty, love, romance, and our own personal values. Saturn represents structure, stabilization, and restriction. The sextile between them offers an opportunity to stabilize our values and our relationships. As this is a closing sextile it offers the opportunity to release restrictions, to let go of things that have held back our sense of beauty, our need for love, romance, and the development of our own individual personal values. In November we will begin a new cycle between these two planets. This will be the rebuilding of solid stable values that more clearly reflect our true nature at this time.

At 11:58 PM EDT Mars squares Neptune. The cycle between Mars and Neptune began in February 2013. Consider where your assertive or sexual energy is unclear or idealized. Fantasy and charisma play a role in how we move forward. Keep your eyes open and understand that there is a lack of clarity that will simply take time to unravel.

If you were hoping for a simple week with no complications, just put that idea aside! Dive in and welcome the reality of what this week offers.

The week begins with a lovely Full Moon in Pisces allowing us the opportunity to see the full illumination of the dreams, fantasies, and/or fears that we have been busy building these past weeks!

Consider the seed you planted two weeks ago at the New Moon. How have things changed in this time? Can you see the results that have been created?
There are several VERY long VOC* Moon periods this week. Thursday and Saturday will need to be planned with this in mind. Remember you can expect a lack of results from whatever you put your attention or effort into while the Moon is VOC*. Focus your attention on mundane tasks, catch up on rest, recuperation, and simple activities.
Pay careful attention, this week, to the stories you tell yourself and the ways that you present those stories to others.

Carefully consider your response to unexpected news or information. You may experience a delightful surprise or an unwanted shock. Mercury comes into contact with Uranus and Pluto this week, bringing intensity, transformation and sudden surprises to your most ordinary ways of thinking, exploring communications, and working with your mind.

Seek inspiration, sudden epiphanies, and surprising/shocking ideas. Do not discount the significance of any of these!

Explore ways to share the transformation of your thinking with those around you. Do this without expectation of the response you receive.
Midweek Venus opposes Neptune reminding us that sharp clarity is not always available when our hearts are deeply involved.
On Saturday Mars who has very happily been moving through Scorpio now enters Sagittarius. Action takes flight! Over the coming weeks you will find yourself planning a major trip or considering some education you realize you need for your upcoming changes.

This week’s VOC* Moon!

I’m going to start providing this information each week to help support the workability of your lives!

Block off these times in your schedule and avoid making significant decisions or trying to work on important projects during these times. During VOC* Moon, focus on routine tasks. You will be surprised at how this one change will smooth the edges of your life!

Tuesday, September 9, 2014 Moon is VOC* following a trine to Mars at 3:09PM EDT and ending at 7:32PM EDT as the Moon enters Aries.

Wednesday, September 10, 2014 Moon is VOC* following a conjunction to Uranus at 8:57PM EDT and ending on Thursday, September 11th at 9:17PM EDT as the Moon enters Taurus. Yes, You read that correctly; this is a 12+ hour VOC Moon.

Saturday, September 13, 2014 Moon is VOC* following a trine to the Sun at 9:31AM EDT and ending on Sunday morning at 2:25 AM EDT when the Moon enters Gemini. That is nearly 15 hours of VOC* Moon!

Monday, September 8, 2014:

The week begins with a Pisces Full Moon, which will be exact at 9:37PM EDT.

Take a moment this morning to consider the seed you planted at the Virgo New Moon on Monday, August 25th.

The appropriate response to that New Moon was to plant a seed of aspiration. To aspires to perfect something within the self as a gift for humanity. What seed did you plant?

What new routines did you put into place with the intention of making yourself a better person? With Monday’s Full Moon, we release the creative energy that has been building since that new seed was planted.

There is a very dreamy quality about Monday. The creative energy being released is full of deep empathy, compassion, and sensitivity. The reality of what has grown over these two weeks may leave you feeling deeply inspired, impressionable, and idealistic.

The creative energy, which has been building over the past two weeks, is ready to be released. Do not waste this elusive energy on escapism through drugs or alcohol. Reach instead for your mystical depth and transcendent understanding.

Open your heart through music, poetry, meditation, prayer; allow mystical transcendence into your experience.

Tuesday, September 9, 2014:

Tuesday begins with the Moon still in Pisces. Following a trine to Mars at 3:09PM EDT the Moon will be VOC* until 7:32PM EDT. Those 4 ½ hours will be best spent on routine tasks, or simply as, well deserved, downtime. At 7:32PM EDT the Moon enters Aries, bringing us the sense of wanting what we want, when we want it! Patience is not our strength on Tuesday evening.

The most significant issue on this day is reflected in the square between Mercury and Pluto.

Maintain vigilant awareness of your thought processes and your communications. There is more power in your words then you may understand. Communications and conversations can easily go to deeper, more powerful, and potentially more dangerous places then we anticipate. Watch your words. Pay attention to the responses you get from others. Prepare yourself give or receive communications that may change you and those you love, in unfathomable, long-term, and profound ways.

This has the potential to be a day when secrets are revealed and power dynamics are exposed. Please do your best to be aware of and kind to everyone you encounter.

Take a moment to consider the full cycle between Mercury and Pluto: the cycle began on December 31, 2013. Carefully consider what was on your mind at that time. What was your most pressing concern? Did you make any New Year’s resolutions? Whatever you began at that time required attention and action in mid-April 2014, was fully realized in July, and is now asking for reconsideration in preparation for future release. This cycle will end and the new cycle begin in December, 2014.

Wednesday, September 10, 2014:

On April 11, 2014 Venus conjunct Neptune at 6° Pisces. Did you begin a new dream; did you open you eyes to a new idealized vision of abundant love, money, or resources? Take time today to consider what began in April. How far has it come to fruition? Where have you been successful in implementing this dream? Do you now see its full potential? Over the coming months the full realization of that dream will be further explored.

The Aries Moon is impatient with the speed of internal progress. Remember the side of Aries that is represented by the screaming infant demanding its due!

Love is idealized even as the necessary transformation of our lives may not have caught up enough to support the idealized vision of that love.

Mercury sextile Jupiter (2:36PM EDT); offering the opportunity to show your most authentic self to others. Speak your truth to those you love. Allow vulnerability at your very deepest core. This is the time.

At 8:57 PM EDT the Moon makes her final aspect, a conjunction to Uranus before going to VOC* until quite late on Thursday.

Thursday, September 11, 2014:

Keep your plans for Thursday very simple. There is really nothing of great importance to be done. Spend the day on routine tasks, meditating, reading, contemplating, or resting. This is a very long VOC* Moon in Aries; from 8:57PM EDT Wednesday until 9:17PM EDT Thursday when the Moon enters Taurus.

The Virgo Sun sextile Saturn at 11:03AM EDT suggesting that there is great stabilization energy available to us at this time. This is great for getting things accomplished! Hummmm. With the combination of this and the Moon being VOC* the logical way to deal with this day is to really dig into the many routine tasks that need doing in your office or your life! This would also be an excellent day to spend with someone whose wisdom or experience you respect. Seek a mentor in each person you encounter on Thursday.

Friday, September 12, 2014:

It looks like we are gearing up for a lovely weekend! Friday the Moon is in Taurus all day making lovely aspects to Neptune, Venus, Pluto, and connecting with Jupiter as well.

Friday is the day to appreciate Life! This is a day to make those lists of things that you are grateful for. Taurus has a sensual, earthy, reverence for life. This is not a day to be in a hurry. Take your time and create beauty everywhere you go.

Seriously take the time to enjoy each of your five senses: sight, hearing, smell, taste, and touch. Appreciate the gift it is to live in this human body. Allow yourself to seek comfort in reliability and consistency.

Early Saturday morning the opposition between Mercury and Uranus will prevent this day from being without excitement. With all the desire for comfort and reverence, beneath the surface we feel the instability that is right around the corner.

Saturday September 13, 2014:

Saturday morning we awake with a pulse of excitement moving through our minds. Where do you want to take your mind today? Did something begin in mid April 2014 that is now releasing creative energy? Mercury opposes Uranus at 4:16AM EDT, your thoughts and communications are electrified with powerful revolutionary energy. Expressed negatively this could reflect you feeling scattered and full of nervous energy. From a more positive perspective it reflects great excitement in the mind. Our perceptions, our thoughts and ideas are moving quickly! Intuitive insights can come suddenly and without warning.

Meet new people! Engage in exciting and interesting conversations. Expect people to be direct and even blunt in their communications. Expect to hear the unexpected and perhaps to speak the unexpected as well!

Another very long VOC* Moon following a Trine to the Sun at 9:31AM EDT! Yes another full day of rest, revitalization, routine tasks, and downtime!

At 5:56 PM EDT Mars (having been in Scorpio since July 25) enters Sagittarius. Don’t be surprised if you notice yourself planning some sort of travel for yourself and a loved one. Get out the travel magazines and the education catalogs. Book yourself a cruise, plan a vacation, sign up for a class, or learn something new! Make it a point to engage in conversations with people from other cultures, other belief systems, or other lifestyles!

Sunday, September 14, 2014:

Sunday morning we awake to the Moon in Gemini making an early-morning opposition to Mars. The day may start with a sense of aggravation and anxiety.

If possible spend a few hours alone on Sunday morning with a good book or a pen and your journal.

You will find your mind very active and hot. Explore the thoughts and ideas that are working their way through your mind at this time. At 10:34AM EDT Venus trine Pluto reflecting great intensity of your emotional expression and your connection to others. Love relationships are profound and powerful at this time. Any love and any expression of beauty will take on great death and intensity.

Our souls are deeply touched, deeply moved, and deeply transformed by the profound soul connection of love at this time.

Consider the planetary energies of the week ahead and plan your best approach.

Do you feel like you are still waiting for the Virgo Sun to bring a bit more stability? Did you expect the productive energy of Virgo to have settled over you and calmed all the tension in your life? When the Sun left Leo for Virgo last week we anticipated our lives becoming more settled and stabilize. It hasn’t really played out that way in my life. How about yours?

I suspect it is the approaching Trine between Jupiter (in Leo) and Uranus (in Aries) that may be keeping your solid work focus at bay. This aspect will not perfect until September 28th but is a powerful intensification of expanding individuality and truth that has been building since June 2010.

Ride with the wave of it. Enjoy that the excitement of Summer hasn’t yet let up!

This week we have several planets changing sign:

On Tuesday Mercury moves into Libra, encouraging our thoughts to move toward diplomacy, romance, and partnerships of all kinds.

On Friday Venus leaves Leo behind to enter Virgo. This will help to increase our appreciation of work and productivity. We are reminded of the value and beauty within efficiency and orderly dedication. We are able to release some of the overriding desire for expressive and constant appreciation. Allow this to settle your ego’s over-riding need for attention.

Monday, September 1, 2014 Moon is VOC* following a sextile to Mercury

at 11:40AM EDT and ending at 1:17AM EDT as the Moon enters idealistic Sagittarius.

Wednesday, September 3, 2014 Moon is VOC* following a trine to Venus

at 2:06PM EDT and ending at 6:15PM EDT as the Moon enters ambitious, hard working Capricorn.

Friday September 5, 2014 Moon is VOC* following a sextile to Mars

at 11:08AM EDT and ending at 7:59PM EDT when the Moon enters quirky, unusual Aquarius.

Sunday September 7, 2014 Moon is VOC* following a square to Mars

at 1:18PM EDT and ending when the Moon enters Pisces at 7:47PM EDT.

Monday, September 1, 2014:

The week begins with a holiday (Labor Day) here in the US. Labor Day is a celebration of the American labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of workers. Labor Day constitutes a yearly tribute to the contributions workers have made to our strength, prosperity, and well-being. Celebrations generally consist of parades, barbecues and gatherings of all types where you may encounter folks you don’t generally encounter in your everyday life.

The astrological weather supports these gathering with a bit of a twist.

We begin the day with the Moon in Scorpio making her final aspect (a sextile to Mercury) at 11:40AM EDT. The Moon is VOC* from then until she enters Sagittarius at 1:17 PM EDT.

Enjoy the afternoon and evening by enjoying the traditional celebrations in a more non-traditional way. Mingle with people who provide you with a very different sense of the world. Explore Reality and Truth from the perspective of someone who sees the world very differently from you! Open your mind to the vast difference in thought and experience between you and another. Work to remove the barriers in your mind.

The reality, experience, and thinking of those from a different background, culture, or life style is valid and fertile ground for your own personal essential growth.

Tuesday, September 2, 2014:

Tuesday the Moon is in Sagittarius all day. At 7:11AM EDT the Moon reaches her First Quarter Phase. This is the waxing Square aspect of the Moon to the Sun.

At last Monday’s New Moon in Virgo (August 25), consider the seed that you planted, the aspiration you declared. Consider, once again, your intention and now take a specific action to move toward this intended growth; envision and feel your way into your future.

When you wake Tuesday morning the big news is that Mercury has entered Libra. Mercury is currently moving very quickly and has only been in Virgo since August 15th. Your mind has likely been trying to stabilize the wild Fire energy and with Mercury’s entrance into Libra, now seeks the help of companionship. You will notice that your thoughts turn to finding ways to partner more effectively. Consider how the help of another can balance and bring more harmony to your mind. Mercury will remain in Libra until September 27th.

This should be a great time to work with issues of diplomacy and cooperation. You are able to see both sides of the conversation. During this time your mind is not stuck on holding our own perspective irregardless of the reality for the thinking of others. Connect with others, listen closely, and balance your mind.

The Golden Stairs by Edward Burne-Jones

The Golden Stairs by Edward Burne-Jones

Wednesday, September 3, 2014:

Wednesday brings extremely dynamic energies into our lives! The Virgo Sun forms a waning Trine to Pluto at 12:09 PM EDT. The powerful transformation of who you are and how you present yourself in the world cannot easily be hidden or contained. The response from others is also not easily contained. Strive for internal balance; allow the meticulous care of Virgo to feed the ambition of Pluto in Capricorn.

Pay attention to the way that power dynamics are working in your life. Consider who has power and how do they use it. Consider the areas in your life where you utilize power, how respectful are your dealings with those who have less power than you. Use the empowerment available today to expand your hopes and ambition for the future. If your birthday falls between April 29th – May 3rd, September 2nd – September 5th, or December 31st – January 3rd, this empowerment is more strongly available then for the rest of us.

For all of us power dynamics are important to pay attention to. If these energies are used unconsciously and without integrity, this power will backfire and work against your life. Never forget the importance of using power dynamics consciously and with the highest integrity. Your impact on others is highly significant at this time; far more so than you are likely to understand.

And Moon begins her day in Sagittarius making her final aspect (Moon Trine Venus) at 2:06PM EDT. Following this the moon is VOC*until entering Capricorn at 6:15 PM EDT. This brings you to a serious evening where your mind may be focused on work, ambition, and results.

Be aware, be kind; remember that each action, choice, and decision has lasting significance.

Thursday, September 4, 2014:

If you didn’t read Wednesday’s post go back and take a look. The energy in issues of power and empowerment will linger throughout Thursday.

The Moon is in Capricorn all day offering us a serious day of accomplishment, ambition, and the ability to focus in on the work we need to do.

As the Moon conjuncts Pluto and squares Uranus today we are highly aware that you are living, working, and playing in a very different world than you were several years ago.

Many of you are tired. Tired of the hard work of transformation that these past months and years have insisted upon. However, the aspects to the Moon on Thursday will remind you that you are not complete with this process yet. Consider where you resided in your life several years ago. Look at how far you have come, and consider how much further you have to go in this process. The last exact hits of Uranus Square Pluto will come in December 2014 and March 2015. It is interesting to image where we will each find ourselves by mid 2015!

Friday, September 4, 2014:

The Moon begins the day in Capricorn. Ambition, work, and discipline come very naturally. There is much to be accomplished.

At 11:08AM EDT following a sextile to Mars the Moon is VOC* until she enters Aquarius at 7:59 PM EDT; therefore the Capricorn Moon is VOC* between 11:08 AM and 7:59PM EDT. This is a perfect time to catch up on routine tasks!

The significant change on Friday comes at 1:06PM EDT when Venus leaves the playful expression of Leo behind and enters the meticulous, detail-oriented sign of Virgo. Your desire to Play recedes somewhat and you are able to embrace the necessity of precision and efficiency. With Venus in Virgo analytical precision and meticulous detail become something we want more of. We are able to see beyond our ego and envision the beauty in humility and service.

Venus will remain in Virgo until October 10th. Find the areas of your life that need to be perfected in order to perfect the one thing that you have to offer the world as a service. We each have something to give, and at this time in humanities history it is so necessary that we find that skill, perfect it, and offer it as our gift. Seek your own unique gift that the world is waiting for.

At 7:59PM EDT the Moon enters Aquarius, providing us with a lighter more intellectually stimulating evening. Get out with friends (old and new) and explore new, interesting, and wild ideas.

Saturday September 5, 2014:

This certainly has the potential to be a fabulous Saturday! Do something different from your usual routines! Gravitate toward areas that both fear and excite you.

Go somewhere and do something no one expects you to do; do it on your own, with platonic friends, or with a group of like-minded adults.

Go skydiving, mountain climbing, surfing, or jeeping! Whatever you do, make sure it is outside your general way of being, or outside your comfort zone. Surprise yourself. Find a new perspective on your life and your world. Don’t bring your spouse or your lover! Saturday is a day to detach from intimacy and experience your full individuality.

If you allow yourself to simply be ‘an extra’ in someone elses movie you will be resentful and miserable. Don’t let others dictate your day. Bring your truth to this day; your ability to move forward without restraint moves humanity forward in ways you can’t anticipate.

Sunday, September 6, 2014:

Sunday begins with the Moon still in Aquarius. At 1:18PM EDT the Moon squares Mars before going VOC*.

If you were truly able to engage your individuality in an exciting way on Saturday, there could be some difficulty adjusting back into your routines on Sunday.

Keep a low-profile with others as anger or frustration could easily bubble up from below the surface. The VOC* Moon lasts from 1:18PM EDT until 7:47PM EDT, when the Moon enters Pisces.

Saturday evening would be well spent in meditation or prayer. Another excellent option would be to simply watch a great film this evening. Allow yourself to escape the confines of the mundane world. Enjoy sensitivity and rest.
