“We use astrology most constructively and creatively when we gain from it a sense of what is possible for us at the highest levels of our potentialities. Seeing that, the challenges is then to keep our eyes open to life itself, to be able to respond appropriately when some event or change of circumstances…”

CONTEMPLATE THE SEEDS OF A NEW STUDY
Monday, September 25, 2017:
The week begins with seriously mixed signals. The Moon in Sagittarius provides an optimistic atmosphere, an idealistic view, and an expansive vision of the future.
However, it will be largely overshadowed when, at 10:35AM EDT, Mercury, the planet of thought and communication forms a challenging square aspect to realistic, hardworking Saturn. Saturn provides limitations and restrictions in order for us to face the reality of our responsibilities. This is not an easy or a fun transit but it will push you to do what needs to be done in order to develop mature clarity in your thoughts and plans. The cycle between Mercury and Saturn is an annual cycle as Mercury takes approximate a year to move fully around the ecliptic.
Think back to what you were thinking, planning, or studying in November of 2016. As this is the Third Quarter Square of this cycle, it is time to begin wrapping up and finalizing that project, study, or thought process.
Now is the time to consider what serious new project, study, or contemplation you want to begin when the new cycle begins in approximately 2 months. As you consider releasing the past, begin contemplating the seeds of the future. Difficult challenges that come your way on Wednesday will point you in the direction of what part of your life is winding down or preparing to be moved in a new direction.

A MATTER OF BALANCE
Tuesday, September 26, 2017:
With Monday’s intellectual challenge (Mercury square Saturn), winding down you will be more attuned to the easy going Sagittarius Moon on Tuesday. With the Moon in Sagittarius, you tend to feel positive about the direction of your life. Your thoughts turn in the direction of expanding your philosophical perceptions, a desire to gain greater understanding of your place in the world and culture, and to view how others fit into this larger view as well. You want to see through the eyes of others to gain clarity and understanding; you also seek adventure with a strong desire for the freedom to travel and see the world.
The only glitch in the system is when the emotional Moon joins with restrictive Saturn at 8:16 PM EDT. As you wind down the day, you are reminded that you still have reality to consider. You may want to engage with travel and freedom, but there is still your job, responsibilities, and bills to pay.
It’s okay, it is a matter of balance. The joy of life and the challenges of hard work and responsibilities must exist in harmony, side by side, hand in hand.

CLEAR GOALS AND KINDNESS
Wednesday, September 27, 2017:
Wednesday begins with the independent Sagittarius Moon forming lovely aspects to both optimistic Jupiter and eccentric Uranus. This suggests a morning of unexpected pleasures and perhaps unusual surprises. Do keep in mind that the Moon will be VOC* (see below) between 7:09 AM EDT and 12:25 PM EDT. Keep a low profile and enjoy whatever the morning offers.

At 12:25 PM EDT, the emotional environment will change considerably as the Moon leaves joyful Sagittarius behind to enter disciplined Capricorn. While the Moon is in Capricorn, your focus will move toward more serious, realistic issues. Your attention will turn toward the practical and necessary steps you need to take at this time of your life.
This is a great afternoon to work on developing clear goals and plans in significant areas of your life. Given the option you will likely choose work and duty over fun or emotional connections. Please be cognizant of how you treat others. Sometimes when the Moon is in Capricorn, we can be so responsible, serious, and practical that we forget to be kind.
The Sagittarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 7:09 AM EDT until she enters Capricorn at 12:25 PM EDT.
Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

STANDING IN YOUR POWER
Thursday, September 28, 2017:
Very late Wednesday night, we reach the First Quarter Moon with the Moon still in serious Capricorn. This offers a simple reminder to look back at the New Moon on September 20th and consider the seed you planted at that time and take action to move your intention forward.
Also, while you slept very early Thursday night, expansive Jupiter (at 27° Libra) opposed unconventional Uranus (at 27° Aries). This suggests the possibility of a large, unexpected surprise that has its roots in something that began between mid-2010 and the beginning of 2011.*
When you think of the cycle between Jupiter and Uranus, understand that it is a cycle of expanding the unusual, enlarging the revolutionary mind. Whatever began in 2010 and 2011 shows its full results now? What personal internal revolution did you begin at that time? Where has it brought you?
Pluto turns direct at 3:36 PM EDT after having been retrograde since April. Some area of deep inner contemplation is complete; you are ready to stand more fully in the light of your own power. Wherever 16 degrees Capricorn falls in your chart, will help you understand the area of this personal empowerment.
*Googling political issues of that time (mid 2010 – early 2011) will surprise you… as will your own calendars and journals. You can’t make this stuff up.

MEDITATE, DREAM, CREATE
Friday, September 29, 2017:
The disciplined Capricorn Moon will be with us throughout Friday. Other than a bit of anxiety or excitement around 7:20 PM EDT, the daytime hours are stable, steady, and serious
At 8:11 PM EDT. Venus, the planet that represents our personal values of love, beauty, and resources forms an opposition aspect to Neptune, the planet of illusions and dreams. This can be a very romantic connection; do enjoy the romance but remember that Neptune will cloud your vision, you may have those rose tinted glasses firmly affixed and may wake up a few days later with a whole different understanding of the situation.
In exploring the entire cycle of Venus and Neptune, consider what romantic (or otherwise beautiful) vision around love or money began in January of 2017. What do you see your choices at that time have created over the past 9 months?
This is a great day for imagination, meditation, dreams, and visions. This is not a great day for clarity, precision, or accuracy. Dance, paint, meditate, dream.
At 8:42 PM EDT, Mercury enters Libra after being in Virgo for the past three weeks. Allow your thoughts to turn toward love and beauty. You and those around you will be more willing to compromise and able to see issues from other perspectives.
The Capricorn Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 8:14 PM EDT until she enters Aquarius shortly after midnight (12:41 AM EDT Saturday morning). Remember, when the Moon is VOC*, there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; it is not good or bad, it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have any significant future impact.

DIFFERENT DRUMMER
Saturday, September 30, 2017:
“If a man does not keep pace with his companions, perhaps it is because he hears a different drummer. Let him step to the music which he hears, however measured or far away.” ~ Henry David Thoreau
Following the last few serious days of mature stability, courtesy of the Capricorn Moon, on Saturday, you awake to a very different emotional environment. At 12:41 AM EDT, the Moon enters innovative, open-minded Aquarius putting issues of humanitarianism in the spotlight.
Saturday will be best utilized by seeking situations where you can engage with like-minded others for the purpose of improving the plight of all. Aquarius is an Air sign, engaging us in unusual intellectual pursuits that will forward the culture in revolution or innovation. You may feel inclined toward unexpected insights, rebellious ideas, and spontaneous actions.
The afternoon and evening bring lovely flowing aspects to both mental Mercury and the all-powerful Sun. Meet with community, allow ideas and plans to flow. Move your life forward in unusual. unpredictable ways. This is a day to go your own way, with others of like mind, not a day to follow the conventional crowd.

PUSH STEADY
Sunday, October 1, 2017:
Sunday has some similarities to Saturday as we continue working with others for the betterment of the whole human race.
However, there is a powerful drive now that will push you firmly forward. With directive Mars forming a beautiful trine aspect to highly influential Pluto at 7:36 PM EDT, you have the wherewithal to propel your agenda forward with power and assurance. You may notice a strong drive to excel or succeed in some situation that has the potential to bring very positive results.
Throw yourself wholeheartedly into whatever began around October of 2016. Think back to that time. What powerful intent were you focused on at that time?  Your determination is very strong. Push steady with concentration; the time is at hand.

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transits between the planets.  I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods.  I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.
* The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
* The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
