A contemplation to support you this week:
“Life is glorious, but life is also wretched. It is both. Appreciating the gloriousness inspires us, encourages us, cheers us up, gives us a bigger perspective, energizes us. We feel connected. But if that’s all that’s happening, we get arrogant and start to look down on others, and there is a sense of making ourselves a big deal and being really serious about it, wanting it to be like that forever. The gloriousness becomes tinged by craving and addiction. On the other hand, wretchedness–life’s painful aspect–softens us up considerably. Knowing pain is a very important ingredient of being there for another person. When you are feeling a lot of grief, you can look right into somebody’s eyes because you feel you haven’t got anything to lose–you’re just there. The wretchedness humbles us and softens us, but if we were only wretched, we would all just go down the tubes. We’d be so depressed, discouraged, and hopeless that we wouldn’t have enough energy to eat an apple. Gloriousness and wretchedness need each other. One inspires us, the other softens us. They go together.”

Onward to the daily weather.
Peace & love,
Laurie

EXPLORE LOVE
Monday, October 3, 2016:
As the Moon (now in Scorpio) distances herself from the Libra Sun and last week’s New Moon, she comes to the crescent phase where she explores the methods available to help her grow the seed of expanding love she planted at the Libra New Moon on Friday.
With the steamy Scorpio Moon forming lovely aspects to dreamy Neptune and transformative Pluto, along with a conjunction to Venus, the planet of love, it is easy to fall into a bit of a love trance on Monday. Your heart is easily pulled into profound and captivating connections.
You won’t feel that it is necessary but please keep at least one foot on the ground; this is not the time to set a stake in the ground, it is still a time of exploration. The best way to maintain stability and not get swept away is to simply stay true to your self.
Enjoy any bliss you can capture, and no matter how shiny the glow, remember that reality is right around the next corner.
“To thine own self be true.” ~ W. Shakespeare

EMOTIONS & BEING A GROWNUP
Tuesday, October 4, 2016:
The Moon continues through Scorpio on Tuesday suggesting deep sensitivity; your emotions are likely to be close to the surface although held in silent privacy.
At 12:58 PM EDT, the Libra Sun forms a sextile aspect to stabilizing Saturn allowing you to focus on the real world and your place in it. You are able to tuck those emotions into a quiet little pocket while dealing with the structures of your life and your responsibilities. This is a great day to meet with authority figures or anyone who can help you move ahead in business or other ‘grown-up’ activities. On Tuesday, you will be a bit more capable of behaving with authority, maturity, and self-control.
When the Moon sextile Mercury (9:05 PM EDT), we are offered an opportunity to reveal and communicate our deeper emotions that have remained hidden while we played the role of the grownup.  Tears and intimate conversations will release pent up stress. Allow yourself and others the vulnerability of this release.
The Scorpio Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 9:05 PM EDT until she enters Sagittarius at 4:27 AM EDT Wednesday morning. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad; it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

RELEASE EGO CONTROL
Wednesday, October 5, 2016:
The day seems a bit brighter and lighter when we get up on Wednesday morning than it seemed when we went to bed on Tuesday night. While we slept, the Moon left the intensity of Scorpio behind to move into adventurous, light-hearted Sagittarius.
You will find yourself thinking about the future and moving through the day with relative ease.
Early evening brings two interesting transits to shake things up a bit.
At 5:22 PM EDT, attractive Venus sextiles transformative Pluto asking that we explore releasing control or power dynamics regarding money, love, or both. Perhaps there is a conversation that needs to happen with a loved one regarding money or other resources. If you owe anyone money, particularly a family member or loved one, make sure your communications are current and that you are in full integrity in the matter.
At 5:44 PM EDT, assertive Mars squares enthusiastic Jupiter encouraging us to move quickly and take on more than may be wise. Take everything in your awareness into consideration and don’t act recklessly. If you are uncertain, ask a trusted friend who may have a more objective perspective to help you see things clearly. If you balk at asking for the perspective or help of a friend, consider relaxing your need to be right.
Get real about the role your ego is playing here. 😉

PLAN AN ADVENTURE
Thursday, October 6, 2016:
Thursday is a very quiet day astrologically. The Moon continues through optimistic Sagittarius giving us a wider view of the world and our place in it.
At 8:03 AM EDT, the explorative Sagittarius Moon sextile the Libra Sun, offers the potential for a lovely day. Life feels good; you may want to explore your own most independent nature within the context of your love relationships. You want your intimate partnerships to offer the possibility of both freedom and committed love.
This is a day to consider the full possibility of what you want to create with a loved one. Make it a point to sit together and plan an extravagant adventure. Don’t worry about the details. Even if you have doubts about the implementation, make the plans. Play with the ideas. Don’t be careful. Create the ideas of a future adventure together. Make it fun.
When the plan feels fully formed and exciting, enjoy a little adventure or a special treat for the evening together! Have fun! Play.

KINDNESS IS NEEDED
Friday, October 7, 2016:
Friday has the potential to be a challenging day although Mercury’s entrance into Libra in the early morning hours will help to temper the power dynamics that come on board later in the afternoon.
Mercury enters Libra at 3:55 AM EDT where s/he will remain until October 24th.  Mercury in Libra can do much to balance out our thinking,  by helping us to think diplomatically, and remain more impartial than normal.
This will be helpful when the Sun squares Pluto at 3:33 PM EDT bringing with it the possibility of a bid for control and the clashing of egos. Honesty is necessary as is respect for the position of the other. If you can get your egos out of the way and look at each other with full honesty and respect, a deep empowerment may grow profoundly between you. If you each try to gain the upper hand, you will find yourselves in a very hard place. Allow tears, vulnerability, and trust. If that is not an option, you should not spend the afternoon in each others company.
Show extra kindness to folks you encounter in your day’s routines. This Sun square Pluto will play out in harsh ways for many of them. The kindness of a stranger has the potential to make a big difference.  Be that person on Friday. Show kindness. It will spread.
At 4:40 PM EDT, the Moon enters the stable, mature sign of Capricorn. This will help to settle us into a realistic and quiet evening.
The Sagittarius Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 2:26 AM EDT until she enters Capricorn at 4:40 PM EDT. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad; it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

ALLOW CHANGE
Saturday, October 8, 2016:
Saturday starts out quietly with the Moon in serious, cautious Capricorn. Get up early to accomplish an ambitious project. At 7:19 AM EDT, the rigid Capricorn Moon conjoins with Mars offering responsibility and leadership skills. Perhaps,  you should get the whole family out of bed early to rake the yard and prepare for winter. At 11:46 AM EDT, the Moon sextile Neptune puts an end to the interest in accomplishment; a mid afternoon matinee with the family would be lovely or simply rest this afternoon with no agenda.
As you head into Saturday evening, thing will likely get a bit testy. Remember the Uranus Pluto square we talked about for so long over the past few years? The major changes of the culture and our lives have brought together the demand for transformation and unusual revolutionary thinking.
Saturday night and well into Sunday, we are reminded of how much has been transformed and how our less conventional thinking has informed the profound changes in our lives and our culture. At 9:57 PM EDT, the Moon conjoins Pluto suggesting a deep discomfort. We understand there is more to come. How does your personal path of transformation fit into the full context of where you currently find yourself?
Consider what action you can take on Sunday to move forward with the New Lunar Cycle of expanding love that began last week on Friday.  You must bring deep stores of love to the fullness of your life’s path.
On Sunday, we come to the First Quarter Moon phase followed by the Moon square Uranus. Saturday we must take action to move further along the path of increased love.  Keep a low profile. Engage only with trusted heart-mates in deep contemplation and connection. This is not an evening for fun or frivolity. Go deep; allow change.

LOVE IS SERIOUS BUSINESS
Sunday, October 9, 2016:
Just as Sunday begins, we encounter the First Quarter Moon, reminding us of the seed we planted at the New Moon last Friday. What seed did you plant for the development of love, resources, or beauty? What action can be taken now that will move that seed toward its growth, toward bringing it to reality?
The development of love is serious business. Sunday reminds us of that.  Consider the importance of how you use your time and where you place your attention. This is not a day to simply hang out or enjoy playful endeavors. Allow yourself to be drawn to practical thinking and systems that will support ongoing growth and development.
However, the square aspect formed between the Capricorn Moon and Uranus at 12:51 PM EDT reminds us that seriousness does not necessarily equal conservative or pessimistic action.  Uranus suggests that maturity and integrity can go hand-in-hand with unconventional, original, and even defiant ways of being. Explore new ways to create your future.
Any significant Conversations or plans should be completed before the moon goes VOC at 12:51 PM EDT.
The Capricorn Moon is VOC* (think of it as being adrift, without focus or connection) from 12:51 PM EDT until she enters Aquarius at 2:33 AM EDT Monday morning. Remember, when the Moon is VOC* there will be no result from anything that is begun. This is neutral; not good, not bad; it simply suggests that whatever occurs will not have significant future impact.

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets.  I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods.  I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.
* The aspects under consideration: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
* The planets I work with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.
