Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: May 4, 2015 through May 10, 2015

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: May 4, 2015 through May 10, 2015

As we come closer to the next Mercury retrograde (May 18th – June 11th), there are a few things I would like to talk about.

With the proliferation of astrological information on the internet, it is easy to get carried away with every astrological whim that comes along. Mercury retrograde is always a popular topic.

For many years I have tried to move the conversation of Mercury retrograde in a more positive direction; to help folks learn to work with the energies available rather than simply seeing it as a time of negativity.

There has been a move in a more positive attitude toward Mercury retrograde in many quarters, although we still hear plenty of fear and drama.

One thing I haven’t discussed until now is the issue of the Mercury retrograde shadow. This refers to the time (before the retrograde period) when Mercury reaches the point that it retrogrades back to; and the time following the retrograde period until it reaches the point where it went retrograde in the first place.

Example:
This upcoming Mercury retrograde starts on May 18 with Mercury at 13° Gemini; Mercury will turn direct on June 11 at 4° Gemini. The Mercury pre-retrograde shadow begins when Mercury hits 4° of Gemini (Monday May 4th); the post-Mercury shadow will last until June 26th when Mercury reaches 13° Gemini.

I have watched the issue of the Mercury retrograde shadow for many years and am finally ready to say that I don’t find any significant value in fussing over this shadow business.

Bottom line: I think we are just fine dealing with Mercury retrograde without worrying about the shadow period.

I understand that a great many excellent astrologers do work with the shadow. I don’t. There are so many issues in astrology and I feel the need to choose those parts that seem the most significant and leave the rest aside!

So, from my perspective, Mercury slows down a few days beforehand, and turns retrograde on May 18th at 13° Gemini and turns direct once again on June 11 at 4° Gemini. That is all we need to concern ourselves with. So give yourself a rest! Don’t worry about Mercury retrograde until it gets here!

Now, onward to the week!

PRACTICE KINDNESS AND OPEN COMMUNICATION
Monday, May 4, 2015:
Get out your journal and go back to July 24, 2014, give or take a day or two. In what ways was your life circumstances or the essence of your being expanding at that time?

In mid-November, what action did you take to push that expansion forward? In early February, you probably saw your path fully illuminated, the creative expression released. Now with some time to gain perspective, a bit of realism may have you questioning the path you so passionately embraced. This could easily feel somewhat terrifying as you have probably put many eggs in that one basket!

Do not worry, but also do not deny the questions that are being raised. Take a clear look at the reality of where that seed planted in late July has brought you. Realistically consider the adjustments that must be made. Do not throw the baby out with the bathwater!

If you pay attention and talk with others, you will find that many people are questioning the direction that they so enthusiastically embarked upon last summer! Don’t worry; the cycle continues to unfold with new surprises and adjustments ahead.

Monday’s Moon in Scorpio opposes Mars at 9:50 PM EDT. Be aware of your tendency towards unhealthy, passive aggressive communications.

Practice openhearted kindness and clear direct communication. This may not come easily and is best developed through continual practice.
Pay attention; be kind.

EXPAND YOUR PERSPECTIVE
Tuesday, May 5, 2015:
At 7:13 AM EDT, on Tuesday the Moon enters Sagittarius. Our hearts expand and we seek to enlarge our perspective of our world. We long for new experiences.

With the Moon conjunct Saturn at 12:37 PM EDT, there is a challenge to our ability to fully understand this new perspective. Tuesday would be an excellent day to challenge your understanding of different cultural perspectives and of those who live in your midst but have a very different worldview.

Given where we find ourselves at this time, it is important to pay attention to your understanding of racism within yourself and within the culture. It is difficult for many of us to look directly at our own deep-rooted subconscious attitudes and prejudices.

We must open our hearts and minds to understand the depth of disparity between our own experience and the experience of others.

Talk openly and with true, honest curiosity and compassion to those who have a very different view from your own. This open exploration of our inner attitudes is imperative to the future of all humankind.

OPEN YOUR MIND TO UNDERSTANDING OTHER WORLD VIEWS
Wednesday, May 6, 2015:
Wednesday offers us a powerful day indeed! The Taurus Sun makes a beautiful trine aspect to Pluto early on Wednesday morning. Think back to the first week in January 2015. Was there an occurrence or a circumstance at that time that felt like the beginning of deep empowerment and understanding?

This week, (particularly on Wednesday), it is good to consider what began at that time and how you are moving that issue forward in your life.

Three Dancers with Hair in Braids by Edgar Degas

Keep the results clearly in mind. We are getting close. The full illumination of this cycle comes in early July. What is it you need to do now to push for that full expression to be exactly as empowering as you know it can be?

On Wednesday, the Moon in Sagittarius makes lovely aspects to expansive Jupiter and quirky unusual Uranus. Contemplate all the ways in which your life could change and expand through the exploration of other cultures and coming to understand people from other worlds.

WORK LATE; ACCOMPLISH MUCH
Thursday, May 7, 2015:
We begin Thursday with the Moon still in Sagittarius going VOC* at 1:52 PM EDT (following an opposition to Venus). She enters Capricorn at 2:17 PM EDT. The afternoon then becomes more serious. You may want to stay at work late, as it is easy to remain focused on administrative or organizational tasks.

If you have a big project you are working on, Thursday afternoon is great for working on the foundation of that project.

There is much we each need to get done before Mercury goes retrograde on May 19th. This would be a good afternoon for setting the stage to make sure nothing slips through the cracks.

At 6:51 PM EDT, Venus happily enters Cancer where she will remain until June 5th. During this time, we may notice our attention turning to beautifying our home, spending time with family, sharing meals and memories.

We notice an increased appreciation for our loved ones and the nurturing care that we can offer. Look for ways to show love and care from the heart. Remember, with Venus in Cancer love is shown in maternal ways; prepare a meal; love and food are deeply connected here.

ACCOMPLISHMENT AND AMBITION
Friday, May 8, 2015:
We end the work-week with serious energy to get things done; our work ethic is strong. It is best to work alone today, if at all possible.

We don’t need the distraction of others as we push forward. We should feel solid and grounded and yet aware of the full ramifications of the direction we are pushing in.

As the Capricorn Moon once again challenges the energies of Pluto and Uranus, we cannot deny the stress we feel. Working alone should allow less conflict to darken your door. Much can be accomplished on your own with focus and dedication; if you must work with others use the stress between you as a way to expand awareness.

Maturity and simple communication skills will go a long way. Revel in accomplishment and ambition!

DISSOLVE BOUNDARIES; STEP FORWARD
Saturday, May 9, 2015:
What was the dream that began in late March 2015? At that time, we many have received the mere glimmer of a dream that we have since been exploring.

At 12:08 PM EDT, Mercury squares Neptune asking that we take a concrete step toward developing that dream. When we are dealing with Neptune, we cannot expect direct clarity. Neptune is meant to dissolves boundaries.

Noon: Rest by Vincent van Gogh

Noon: Rest by Vincent van Gogh

Think about the lack of boundaries within our dreams. Don’t try to reason the direction or the step that must be taken. It must be felt within your heart or simply sensed internally. If you are still unclear, take time in meditation to allow a pathway for simple awareness.

The Moon is in Capricorn going VOC* following a trine to Mars at 4:34 PM EDT. This is another short VOC* as the Moon enters Aquarius at 7:21 PM EDT.

Enjoy an evening of unusual pleasures and new companions. Allow yourself to move forward with full confidence in your own individual path. This is a very individual path, it is important that we not allow others to dictate our step or direction.

MOTHER’S DAY: AN EXPANDED VIEW
Sunday, May 10, 2015:
Sunday is Mother’s Day. This Mother’s Day does not hold the energy we may expect, we may see the whole issue from a different perspective. This is not the day where you will be satisfied to shower love and affection on one individual mother.

Yes, of course you want to take your mother out to breakfast and show her your full appreciation for a lifetime of caring for you. But this Mother’s Day is bigger than that. This Mother’s Day take the time to show appreciation for all folks who dedicate their lives to raising healthy, intelligent humans.

This is about more than your individual mother; it is about everyone who has dedicated huge amounts of energy to care for and raise children. I think we all know that parenting is the hardest job in the world and yet millions of people undertake this amazingly honorable work.

Sunday, once you have fulfilled your duties of honoring the value of parenting, you will want to continue on your own path. Explore new ways of seeing and experiencing the world around you.

This week: The VOC* Moon!

VOC* (void of course) refers to the period of time between the final aspect that the Moon makes while in one sign until she enters the next sign. This can consist of several minutes or many hours. These periods are best handled with little expectation of accomplishment. These times are ideally suited for rest and contemplation.

Block off these times in your schedule and avoid making significant decisions or working on important projects during these times. During VOC* Moon, focus on routine tasks. You will be surprised at how this one change will smooth the edges of your life!

Do you have questions about what is appropriate to do or not do during the VOC* moon? A simple way to think about it is to ask a simple question: Do I hope that this activity will amount to something? If the activity does not need to amount to anything, go ahead with it!

If you have an expectation or desire that this action is going to amount to something, do not do it while the Moon is VOC*. Think about the time you bought a book you were certain you were going to love and you never could finish it! Think about the time you bought the perfect article of clothing that you ended up never wearing. That is the Moon VOC*!

Monday, May 4, 2015 the Moon is VOC* (in Scorpio) following an opposition to Mars at 9:50 p.m. EDT until entering Sagittarius at 7: 13 AM EDT on Tuesday ,May 5, 2015.

Thursday, May 7, 2015 the Moon is VOC* (in Sagittarius) following an opposition to Venus at 1:52 PM EDT until she enters Capricorn at 2:17 PM EDT.

Saturday, May 9, 2015 the Moon is VOC* (in Capricorn) following a trine to Mars at 4:34 PM EDT until entering Aquarius at 7:21 PM EDT.

* In these weekly reports, I am exploring the major aspects formed by transit between the planets. I do not consider every aspect that the Moon makes each day as they can be numerous and are often fleeting moods. I will consider the final major aspect formed by the Moon prior to its VOC* time, as that aspect holds its influence throughout the VOC*.

The aspects I consider: conjunctions, sextiles, squares, trines, and oppositions.
The planets I am working with: Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto.

Weekly Astrology Weather: April 28, 2015 through May 3, 2015

This Week’s Scorpio Full Moon Shows us the Nature of Our Desire

I am delighted to be back!

Again, I apologize for not having the weekly posts here on the blog for the past two weeks. I hope you have read the daily posts on Facebook.

In case you are wondering; Brenda is working hard on her recovery. We are both focusing on consistent exercise and making healthier food choices. ;)

I have moved out of my Burlington apartment and am now living in the northern wilderness, very close to the Canadian border! I am enjoying the quiet, the wildlife I see along the road, and the owls and peepers I hear at night.

As much as I have watched the lives of my clients transform over the past several years, I was not anticipating such total transformation in my own life. Somehow, I believed that major life transformation was the province of youth or of those not obsessively watching the planetary cycles! Ha! What a silly thought that was!

The early part of this week looks pleasant and relatively uncomplicated. As we move toward the weekend, we may encounter some stress and intensity of emotion.

Sunday brings us to a powerful Full Moon in Scorpio, illuminating our desires and demanding that we work within the full reality of our situation. The full reality is never as easy to see as one may imagine; take time to consider the perspective from which you view the world.

As an exercise, consider your situation from the perspective of others. Working with a multitude of perspectives enables us a clearer view of reality.

SOCIALIZE WITH AN OPEN HEART
Monday, April 27, 2015:

The week begins with the Leo Moon square Mercury in Taurus at 10:13 AM EDT. Our stable thought processes may struggle with our emotional need to engage in high drama and playfulness.

Between 10:13 AM EDT and 9:08 PM EDT, the Leo Moon is VOC*, offering us time to move slowly into the week. It is best not to schedule anything of future significance during this time.

Good conversation along with a playful attitude is available today. Join your colleagues or coworkers for a cocktail or coffee after work. Simple socialization and openhearted friendliness without an agenda is a great way to utilize the energy of this day.

GIVE YOURSELF TO ACCOMPLISHMENT
Tuesday, April 28, 2015:

On Tuesday, we are ready to settle into some serious work. The Moon is in hard-working Virgo, allowing us to focus on the details of any project we are involved in. Take advantage of this push toward accomplishment as early in the day as possible.

The Virgo Moon is supported by Saturn early in the day and by the Taurus Sun in the afternoon. Plan on getting a good deal of work accomplished by mid afternoon.

At 4:00 PM, the Virgo Moon opposes Neptune and we may lose focus and simply need the evening hours for dreamy consideration of the softer side of life. Watch a good film tonight. Please don’t waste time on bad television; find a film that will detach your mind from its most solid moorings and allow your imagination to soar.

GATHER INFORMATION TO REACH YOUR DREAM
Wednesday, April 29, 2015:

In many ways, Wednesday is going to be a simple mirror image of Tuesday. Again, we start the day off with a great deal of energy that can be used toward accomplishment and working with details.

Painting of Romeo and Juliet, artist unknown

Painting of Romeo and Juliet, artist unknown

I can imagine our work feeling inspired and even infused with empowerment, assertiveness, and drive. You will not want to waste this energy. Find the projects that most need motivation and drive and put your attention on those!

At 7:10 PM EDT, the Sun sextile Neptune. The cycle between the Sun and Neptune began the last week of February 2015. What dream did you choose to begin at that time?

Consider that dream; spend time gathering information, and researching what your next steps toward it will be. The requirement today is not in action but in gathering the information that will enable serious action at the end of May.

EASE OF COMMUNICATION
Thursday, April 30, 2015:

Thursday begins with the Moon in Virgo becoming VOC* following a trine to Mercury at 8:24 AM EDT. This is a brief VOC* as the Moon enters Libra at 10:02 AM EDT. This is another day that would be good for socializing after work. Others should be feeling good about their accomplishments and with the diplomacy of Libra. This is a great time for social bonding.

At 9:59 PM EDT, Mercury enters its home sign of Gemini where it will remain until July 8, 2015. If that seems like a long time in one sign, it is! Yes, Mercury will be retrograde in Gemini between May 18th and June 11th. Get this information on your calendar right away, so that you can prepare ahead of time!

For now, enjoy Mercury in Gemini. Mercury is the planet that represents what we think about, our skills and struggles with communication, and our thought processes in general. Mercury loves to be in Gemini where it can think and process information more easily than in any other sign.

APOLOGIES MAY BE IN ORDER
Friday, May 1, 2015:

Friday, as the Moon passes through Libra, she once again encounters both Pluto and Uranus. We are reminded of the struggles and challenges we have encountered in the past few years. This is an excellent day to take stock of the mistakes you have made along the way. Consider any toes you may have stepped on throughout the period of your most recent life transformation.

Perhaps, you have left others feeling disregarded, disrespected, or uncared for as your own needs have demanded your focus. Consider any amends or apologies that may be in order.

The apologies themselves can wait and be made at the next New Moon (May 17). Determine who those apologies need to go to, make the commitment to do so, and get it on your calendar.

SEEK INTENSE EMOTIONAL CONNECTION
Saturday, May 2, 2015:

Saturday begins with the Moon still in Libra. She makes a beautiful trine aspect to Venus at 10:04 AM EDT, followed by a full day of the Libra Moon VOC*. This is a lovely day for simply enjoying your life.

Hang out in coffee shops with friends, spend the day in a museum, or watching people on the street. This is not a day for shopping or for trying to accomplish anything for the future. This is a day for simple enjoyment. Don’t complicate it!

At 9:47 PM EDT, the Moon enters Scorpio bringing us to an evening of intense emotional connection, deep sexual pleasure or intensification, or profound psychological probing. If you spend Saturday evening/night with someone you do not know well, this will bring your connection to a profound depth quite quickly.
SCORPIO FULL MOON ILLUMINATES OUR DESIRE NATURE
Sunday, May 3, 2015:

Sunday brings us to the Full Moon in Scorpio as we experience sexual and emotional passion and connection. This is not the day to spend with folks you want a light or casual connection with. There is far too much emotional intensity within the environment of the day.

Spend time alone looking into your own deep psychological patterns or connect on a profoundly deep level with others.

Early Sunday morning, at 4:34 AM EDT, Mercury opposes Saturn. If you keep a journal or are able to remember the serious consideration or conversation you began during the last week of November 2014; now you are able to see exactly where that conversation or consideration has brought you. The full energy of that conversation is now fully revealed and that creative expression is now released.

Astrolore’s Open Hearted Explanation

A Personal Note From Laurie (Astrolore)

Dear readers, I am ready to come out from behind the curtain of semi-anonymity.

Writing these weekly posts is time consuming and also highly consuming of my personal energy. This week I have been unable to write the weekly post. You will find a thumbnail sketch of the transits occurring this week and the VOC* Moon schedule below.

In lieu of an apology, I will explain.

If you are a student of astrology, you will learn as I share my personal experience. If you are simply curious about who writes these posts, I will satisfy some of your curiosity.  :)  If, as a student, you are interested in the full picture, my birth information is as follows: born on August 8, 1955 at 9:17 AM in Boston Massachusetts.

My Moon is at 12° Aries in the seventh house (the House of Relationships), directly in the path of the Uranus Pluto square over the past year. This time has brought one of the most profound transformations of my life.

Following astrology, as I have since the age of 12, I’ve known for years that this time of change was going to profoundly impact my personal life. And yet that understanding is not a crystal ball. I was not able to imagine how this could possibly play out. On some level, I was in total denial of the huge change that could occur.

With Pisces on the cusp of my seventh house, it is easy for me to allow the reality of my relationships to be quite elusive. I didn’t anticipate the powerful transformation that could/would occur.

Brenda & Laurie

Brenda & Laurie

Last summer I met, and immediately fell in love with my current partner, Brenda. Yes, I was aware that she had some serious health problems. Up until now, my understanding has been on a conceptual level. Last Sunday, when she had her second heart attack in 14 months, her health issues suddenly became very real to me.

Spending several days in the hospital caring for her, I have begun to assimilate this very new reality; as I’m sure many of you are also doing related to your own lives and relationships. Brenda and I are experiencing many new changes and are currently combining two households into one. Changes in employment will also be part of the new picture. All of these changes impact me emotionally, financially, and in ways I have not even begun to process.

The changes taking place throughout the cosmos are impacting us all greatly.  Even as I watch the planetary patterns and speak with clients throughout the world; I see how these transits play out in the lives of others, I never seem to expect the same level of change in my own life.

No matter how much we love a particular circumstance, person, or relationship in our life, everything must grow, expand, come to fruition; and ultimately, wither and die. This process is inevitable and cannot change. Joy in our lives depends on our understanding and acceptance of this reality.

As I saw this time of change coming and understood it’s impact on my emotional nature (Moon), relationships (7th house), and community (Moon rules 11th house); I knew that the quietly domestic relationship I was involved in had to change in a profound manner.

As I am nearing 60, I expected this transit to leave me on my own with my work as the fundamental driving force my life. You would think that after studying astrology for 45 years if I understood nothing else it would be to expect the unexpected with any transit of Uranus!

The last thing in the world I expected was to find love with all the intensity, excitement, and passion of a 16 year old! What an immense joy this has been!

However, there is no question that the issues we deal with as we approach 60 are very different than the issues we deal with at 16. No matter what age we are, love can be blind and we rarely choose our love connections with sheer practicality in mind.

Brenda in the hospital

Brenda in the hospital

I always envied people who are brutally practical in choosing a partner, making sure their separate lives fit neatly together. My personal life has never reflected that reality (Pisces on the cusp of the seventh house)!

It has been an intense week. I did not get the weekly astrology weather report written and am emotionally drained. I fully intend to have the daily posts on Facebook each day, and to have next week‘s post back to normal. If you are not a friend of Astrolore on Facebook, please check in with me there.

For today, this is where I find myself:

  • I need to explain to my people why I didn’t write the post this week!
  • I didn’t get my taxes done! Must file the extension!
  • Prepare Brenda’s house in the woods to accept a new occupant (this is a major undertaking)
  • Pack and clean my Burlington apartment
  • Find folks to help me move on Saturday
  • Work, work, work!
  • Face and work with REALITY.

Major Lesson for me: To allow and accept the support and help of others.

We can keep our eyes open, our hearts open, and accept change without resistance. We can show profound levels of kindness to self and others. What we cannot do is prevent the change from coming! We can make it easier on ourselves and others by not resisting, and by always remembering that change is inevitable.

How we respond to major change, upheaval, and transformation is where our understanding and preparation helps. If you are not aware of your own place in these cycles, please begin to work with a good astrologer. Making these connections and following the cycles will help you to understand yourself and your life.

If you would like to support or help our situation, now would be a great time to schedule an appointment with Astrolore. I had planned on increasing my rates on May 1st but due to all of the immediate changes, I will be waiting on that.

If you are interested in understanding all the changes occurring in your own life; contact me for a consultation. We can explore what the changes mean in the wider context of your life and help you determine your path forward.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read. I love my readers and know that you’re a special bunch. Thank you for all your kindness and support during this time of great change. I hope you are enjoying your own version of transformation as it is playing out in your life!

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: April 6, 2015 through April 12, 2015

The end of last week and the beginning of this week are likely to offer some challenges. We still are in the midst of understanding the profound changes in our personal lives and the world around us.

As we work to make sense of our new lives, there is the added challenge of trying to understand where others are in their life changes, and how these changes impact our relationships.

We have encountered profound shifts in ourselves but also the people we love, live and work with seem to be on a very different path as well. Just when we might be comforted to have the familiarity of old friends and loved ones, we look around and they are no longer filling the roles in our lives that we have come to expect of them.

Have you found yourself engaging with a new social circle over the past 6 to 12 months? Go ahead and allow the new people in your life to take more space as the past is left behind and we move forward into our new life.

As we move through this week, our challenges and difficulties may subside. The later part of the week brings more ease, even as Jupiter turns direct on Wednesday! Jupiter is the planet of expansion and higher understanding. With its direct motion beginning this week, our learning and understanding move forward. Open your heart to the new direction, the new path you find yourself on; there is no going back. Find joy exactly in the place you find yourself.

Monday, April 6, 2015:

You’re probably beginning this Monday morning with a certain amount of anxiety or excitement. The powerful energies of ongoing change continue their pressure upon us. A good deal may have shifted over the weekend with the lunar eclipse, the full Libra Moon, and the Sun squaring Pluto.

The pressure continues on Monday as the Sun joins up with Uranus at 10:07 AM EDT. This suggests the beginning of a year-long cycle of innovation; related to the cycle and relationship between the Sun and Uranus!

What did you start a year ago that is now coming to an end? What innovation or humanitarian effort do you need to begin now? If you have been doing the work necessary, I hope you are able, at this point, to trade in your fearful anxiety for anticipation and excitement. The transformation of our life and our world is in process; there is no turning back.

Remain focused, mindful, and clear; within the context of this anxiety, embrace the excitement. If you are struggling with fear or anxiety, don’t attempt to escape. Try to relax into it and learn from the intensity.

Imagine the best places your life may be taking you. It is best to open your heart fully, allow the softening of fear and anxiety to teach you the best steps forward.

At 9:25 AM EDT, Mercury trine Jupiter and we flow with the positive expansion of our minds and our conversations with others. Monday will be a powerful day, no doubt about it.

Today is a day to have conversations that need to be had and open the doors that need to be opened. Hold steady with mindfulness to embrace the response you receive from others. Accept where you find yourself with a joyful heart.

Tuesday, April 7, 2015:

Tuesday’s Scorpio Moon asks us to embrace the depth of our feeling nature even as we embrace these deep ongoing changes. On Tuesday, Mercury squares Pluto and on Wednesday, Mercury will conjunct Uranus.

The cycle between Mercury and Pluto which began in late December 2014 comes to the first quarter square on Tuesday. We keep coming back to these particular dates and considering what we began then. In late December, there was intensification of our thought process or a deepening commitment.

Now, it is significant to consider where the Mercury Pluto cycle brought us and what action we can take now. There may be a communication that is important to put on the table at this time. It could be a speech you need to give, a paper to write, or a line of thinking to actively process.

I would suggest a modicum of caution in your words. With a square between Mercury and Pluto, do not use your words thoughtlessly. Pay attention to what you say, pay attention to the responses you get from others, and don’t jump to conclusions about what you hear.

Your mind can take you in very deep profound areas or very profoundly frightening areas. Never fight against a Pluto transit, make a choice early in the day of how you want to work with your mind in a deeply profound way or in an area of deep understanding and awareness.

At 4:42 PM EDT, the Moon goes VOC* until she enters Sagittarius Wednesday morning at 1:08 AM EDT.

Wednesday, April 8, 2015:

We wake up Wednesday morning with the Moon in Sagittarius and our energy is immediately uplifted. Our good morning from Sagittarius encourages us to look at the wider perspective of the world. Consider the difference in perspective that people in other cultures have. This is a great time to simply be aware of the differences in how we think, process information, and attempt to bring understanding to the table.

At 8:19 AM EDT, Mercury conjunct Uranus and surprising or unusual information may come to light. Depending on your own personal chart, this could be a wonderful day or deeply stressful. This brings us to the beginning of a cycle of innovative thought.

Are you beginning a new understanding of your mind or a new understanding of how to communicate in a more helpful and interesting manner?

Shortly before midnight, Jupiter, which has been retrograde since December 8, 2014, turns direct. This provides a forward motion in some expansive area of your life. I think here in Vermont it provides the push for the final arrival of Spring! I think of Jupiter as a place where we feel rewarded. After the long cold Winter, we certainly need to push forward with the reward of Spring.

Thursday, April 9, 2015:

As we head into the later part of the week, we come to Thursday which looks like a lovely day. The Moon in Sagittarius brings our thoughts into uncharted territory. We want to explore a new way of viewing the world. This would be a great day to spend getting to know folks who live a very different cultural or lifestyle than your own.

It is a great day to look for a new perspective. Everyone has an image of the centaur (half man /half horse) for Sagittarius. I like to think that the symbol for Sagittarius is not the centaurs themselves but the arrows that the centaurs release into the air!

Think about the perspective from that arrow and that is the perspective of Sagittarius. That is the perspective to seek on Thursday.

Take a few hours today to explore your ideas for future travel or education. Do you have children reaching the age of contemplating higher education? This would be a great day to get them excited about the prospects of their future! Dream big!

The Moon is VOC* following a trine to the Sun at 1:42 PM EDT; she will enter Capricorn on Friday morning.

Just before midnight, the Sun and Mercury connect at 19° Aries. This begins a new cycle of invigorating our intellect, and our way of thinking.

Friday, April 10, 2015:

Friday morning, the Moon enters Capricorn at 8:47 AM EDT. This moves us into a somewhat conflicted but serious weekend. Perhaps, you have a lot of work to do or you are feeling more ambitious then you have all week.

Maybe you can finally get some work done! Even as a part of you moves in this direction, there is a great deal of fire energy to be managed.

We would probably do well to spend the evening on our own, accomplishing our personal work without the distraction of social activities. In general, this is not going to be a great weekend for socialization. There just seems to be a damper on us even if we desire the socialization.

Much better use of this energy is to determine what it is you want to accomplish and plan the day around that. Don’t look for shared activities. Solitary activities will result in more accomplishment and you will end the day feeling great about yourself.

Saturday, April 11, 2015:

In the midst of this somewhat solitary hard-working weekend, we have Venus moving into Gemini at 11:28 AM EDT. Suddenly, the steadfastness of our desires shifts and we desire more activity and are curious about new options and possibilities. As Venus enters Gemini (an Air sign), she adds a spark to the five planets currently in Fire signs.

We know there is still solitary work to do and yet the pull toward fun and activity may very well get the best of us on Saturday.

I don’t know about you but for me I suspect this is going to be about the crunch time right before taxes are due on April 15th. Do your best to get those taxes completed on Friday and Saturday before 11:28 AM EDT.

Saturday afternoon, you may be tempted to take the kayak down the river, go for a vigorous hike, or get out for some last-minute Spring skiing! Don’t let the conflicting energies get to you; allow space for both the solitary ambition and powerful physical activity. Balance these two for the weekend.

Sunday, April 12, 2015:

Sunday morning begins with the Moon still in Capricorn. If you’re still working on your taxes, get them done this morning because by afternoon you’re not going to want to be bothered with any of that!

At 1:22 PM EDT, Mars sextile Neptune; think back to the beginning of this cycle that started on January 19 of this year. On Sunday, we are reminded of the dream that began at that time.

Consider where that process is moving now. Investigate what the next steps may be to bring this dream forward. Time alone in this contemplation could be very beneficial to the outcome.

The Moon is VOC following a square to Mercury at 4:15 AM EDT until she enters Aquarius at 1:44 PM EDT. Sunday afternoon and evening would be great to shake off the challenges of the early part of the weekend. Gather with like-minded friends, enjoy conversations that stretch your mind. Shake off the dust and enjoy the evening!

Tuesday, April 7, 2015 the Moon is VOC* (in Scorpio) following and opposition to Venus at 4:42 PM EDT until she enters Sagittarius on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at 1:08 AM EDT.

Thursday, April 9, 2015, the Moon is VOC* (in Sagittarius) following a trine to the Sun at 1:42 PM EDT until she enters Capricorn on Friday, April 10 2015 at 8:47 AM EDT.

Sunday, April 12, 2015, the Moon is VOC* (in Capricorn) following a square to Mercury at 4:15 AM EDT until she enters Aquarius at 1:44 PM EDT.

Astrolore’s Weekly Astrology Weather: March 30, 2015 through April 5, 2015

The beginning of the week brings much lovely and powerful energy our way as mid-week we move into a new month.

The upcoming shift of Mercury and Mars creates a push/pull dynamic to our lives. Our thinking heats up and moves more quickly and, yet, our actions slow down and become more determined and focused.

On Monday, Mercury, the planet of communication, leaves the imaginative but foggy space of Pisces behind to enter Aries. This fiery energy makes our thinking hot and fast. We may be surprised at the direct, assertive edge our thinking and conversations take on. Venus trine Pluto brings our attention to understanding our responsibility towards the health of our relationships and finances. This has been a learning curve since December 2014.

On Tuesday, Mars leaves his home sign of Aries behind to enter the more stable arena of Taurus and our actions slow down, becoming more determined and focused.

The Moon is VOC* all day on Thursday, encouraging us to rest. Mercury trine Saturn brings our thoughts to serious issues , significant understandings, and/or important communications. The Sun trine Jupiter offers us an open window on generosity and pleasure. Thursday looks like a wonderful day.

Saturday brings us the Full Moon in Libra, which the Moon opposition to the Sun, offering clarity on something that has been brought to your attention over the past two weeks.

At the end of the weekend, the Sun squares Pluto reminding us that we still have a great deal of work to do in order to assimilate the profound changes that have occurred in our lives and in the world since the summer of 2012. Sunday brings us face-to-face with empowerment or overwhelm. Remember to breathe.

Since the final square between Uranus and Pluto earlier this month, we all want to put the past 2 1/2 years behind us and have a fresh start. It is natural to desire an end to the intensity but we must not underestimate the importance of the assimilation process that we are now beginning. There is power in the transformation and we are now beginning the process of securing an inner peace with where we find ourselves.

If you are ready to understand this process in your own life; contact me for a consultation. We can explore what the changes mean in the wider context of your life and help you determine your path forward.

Monday, March 30, 2015:

Monday starts with the Moon in Leo making a beautiful connection with the planet of expansion and generosity, Jupiter. This is a wonderful way to begin the week!

While we are still sleeping on Sunday night, Venus makes a lovely, free-flowing trine to Pluto. This is the extension of a cycle that began in late December 2014. That was the beginning of a cycle of empowering our values. This cycle may represent a love relationship or, more literally, it may refer to the development of financial security, or something else deeply valuable to you personally.

Think about late December, what were you consciously beginning to build upon? Was it a romantic or loving relationship, or was it more tangible such as money or “stuff” of value? Whatever began for you in December is now in a place of free flowing growth. It is clear where you are headed. It may feel as though nothing can slow you down. Your values are empowered and your empowerment comes through as beauty, value, and love.

Following a trine to Uranus at 9:57 AM EDT, the Moon is VOC* until she enters Virgo on Tuesday at 2:12 PM EDT.

Mercury, the planet that relates to our thinking and communications, enters Aries at 9:43 PM EDT. Over the coming days, you may notice that is easy to speak your mind, or that it is more difficult to be subtle in your communications. As you look around at your community and the world, you may see that things are being said more aggressively than they have been over the past weeks.

Those with a very sensitive nature may feel somewhat overwhelmed by the aggression surrounding conversations and communications in the outer world.

We would all do well to remember that many folks are sensitive to the kind of harsh or abrasive communications that Aries is fond of delivering. Try to be aware of others’ sensitivity and what they may need to feel safe.

All in all, this begins a powerful week of moving forward.

Tuesday, March 31, 2015:

Tuesday begins with the Moon still VOC*. If at all possible, get a slow start on the day and keep an attitude of restfulness until the Moon enters Virgo at 2:12 PM EDT.

At 12:26 PM EDT, Mars leaves behind his own aggressive sign of Aries to enter the steadfast stubborn arena of Taurus. Mars is the planet of action; we may have noticed a lot of things moving very quickly and aggressively since Mars entered Aries on February 19th.

The ring upon thy hand - ah be implored! For Wotan fling it away! by Arthur Rackham

The ring upon thy hand – ah be implored! For Wotan fling it away! by Arthur Rackham

With the new Taurean energy, our push forward becomes more deliberate and steadfast. We have a renewed ability to take our time and show more patience. Following the Moon’s entrance into Virgo, we have an opportunity to accomplish a great deal. We are firmly grounded, steady, and pushing forward.

What can you accomplish on Tuesday afternoon? Look for a project that requires patience, precision, and perfectionism. Maybe you need to complete your taxes? Spring clean your house? Do not be in a hurry. Do maintain your focus. Put your attention in one place, on one thing, and push steadily in that direction.

If you begin this project at or around 2:15 PM EDT, you will be amazed at how much you can accomplish in the hours before you wrap up that project. Don’t be in a hurry to stop this work; go ahead and work into the night. You will be glad you did.

Wednesday, April 1, 2015:

Wednesday is very much an extension of Tuesday; once again offering the ability to work hard and get a lot accomplished. Wednesday is a day to move steadily in the direction you want to. What is the new dream you are working on? Plan, make calls, do the nitty, gritty work to move this project forward.

Don’t be in too much of a hurry to begin as the early morning hours may feel a bit dreamy or unfocused due to an opposition between the Moon and Neptune at 7:31 AM EDT. Neptune makes everything a bit dreamy but do not worry, the lack of focus will not last very long and you will be ready to move forward by mid-morning.

Once again, you may find yourself working late as the evening hours have great potential for productivity. Consider the purpose of the project that you are working on, the project that you are using this planetary energy to move forward. Make sure you are spending this energy in the most worthwhile manner.

If you are working toward something that is only of benefit to you, this would not be a good place to be putting your energies. This is a day to offer your services for the benefit of others. Within the context of your hard work today, consider how this moves others forward.

Kindness is often a misunderstood part of the Virgo archetype. Wednesday evening when the Virgo Moon trine Pluto, service and kindness to others will bring value to all of us.

Thursday, April 2, 2015:

Thursday, we have another full day with the moon VOC* in Virgo following a trine to Venus. Our desire for refinement and our attention on potential (our own and others) is highlighted.

At 8:20 AM EDT, Mercury trine Saturn bring our attention back to last November.
How have you been trying to stabilize your thinking and the way that your mind works? Did you start a new discipline of mind late last fall; meditation or a significant study? Was there something serious that consumed your mind at that time? Now, consider bringing your understanding of this matter to others. You have learned enough to teach.

The cycle between the Sun and Jupiter began in July of 2014; where was your life expanded in a powerful new way at that time?

Both of these cycles (Mercury &Saturn, Sun &Jupiter) bring us to the thought of sharing the wisdom that we have learned since the beginning of the cycles. You have learned much since last summer and you are being asked to share with open generosity. I hope you can pinpoint what this is in your life.

Remember, we teach best what we most need to learn. It is often difficult for us to understand how much we have to offer others. At this time, having gone through all that we have gone through over the past year, we have far more to teach and to share. Look inside; what have you learned that should be shared with others? Answer this question this week. Often, the value of your knowledge is hidden as it seems elementary or simple to you but it may be very helpful to someone else.

Friday, April 3, 2015:

By the time we are up on Friday morning, the Moon has entered Libra encouraging us to use diplomacy in all our interactions. This is a great time to spend with your closest loved ones as we are seeking pleasure and the sharing of beauty. Consider using this diplomatic energy to settle differences with people you may not be close to.

This is a very social Friday evening due to the Libran Moon. Don’t spend it home alone. If you have a partner, it may be a nice evening to spend at home, but do consider getting out amongst others. Seek beauty, seek pleasure, and enjoy friends. However, don’t stay up late on Friday night because Saturday morning is just too good to sleep through.

Saturday, April 4, 2015:

Saturday brings us an early-morning Full Moon in Libra. The Full Moon always encourages us to express ourselves fully, to open our eyes and look clearly at our situation from the perspective of our hearts and our minds.

With the Sun in Aries and the Moon in Libra, we must consider the ways in which our desire for partnership and love balances itself with our desire and need for autonomy and self-determination.

I am not going to discuss the eclipse but would encourage you to share your thoughts about the eclipse here or on my Facebook page. I would love to hear your thoughts and opinions on the matter. You may also want to visit Dark Star Astrology for more information on the eclipse.

The Moon is in Libra all day going VOC* just before midnight.

Consider the Full Libra Moon as a great night for a promising date, clarifying a relationship, or for a gathering of friends. Enjoy.

Sunday, April 5, 2015:

Sunday leads us into the most interesting and perhaps, most challenging day of this week. At 11:07 AM EDT, the Sun squares Pluto.

On Monday, April 5th, the Sun will conjunct Uranus. Take this time to re-examine the changes that you have undergone in your life over the past several years. Contemplate how you are assimilating what you have learned and how you are planning your path forward. Remember that all of these planetary energies are encouraging us to dream new dreams and move forward with love.

The day begins with the Moon still VOC* following an opposition to Uranus just before midnight on Saturday. I can imagine a lot of free-floating anxiety as we look at the bigger picture of how much things have changed and yet our feet are not yet firmly planted on our future path. That is ok! We will be shown our path in time.

This reminds me of a quote: “The bad news is you’re falling through the air, nothing to hang on to, no parachute. The good news is there’s no ground.” ~ Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche

Just as there was no avoiding the major changes, there is also no avoiding the assimilation of the changes. Embrace the future.
